Master Sweep

They came in the afternoon and the whole cleaning only took about 15 minutes. Very nice and professional. We used the fireplace a few days later and the room filled with smoke. It appeared one of the pieces was not put back in the stove quite right so we put the fire out and called the owner of Master Sweep. The owner responded within 12 hours and then came out to fix the problem the next evening. The stove operated properly after that.

We had a mix-up in trying to set up the appointment, but once we made the connection, Master Sweep came to our home and performed the service. The technician got lost on the day of the service, but was able to find out home with my husband's help. Once the service technician was here, he was very professional and efficient in his work. We were pleased with the service.

We have never had a chimney sweep before and we have lived here for 16 years. There didn't seem to be any problems but it looked like a good idea to have it done. They cleaned and inspected both flues and found the chimney's structure in good shape. They suggested caps for the chimney to prevent water damage and we approved the work. He provided us with information concerning when to have them cleaned again and also concerning the need for a little work on the crown. We are very pleased with this company and the two men that came out.

The requested service was performed efficiently and well. Additional services were suggested, a good price was offered and that work was also done well and and quickly. A binding estimate was offered for work I will need in the future. All in all, a very positive experience.

The appoint was surprisingly easy to schedule and the guys arrived promptly. We are not the original owners of the house and knew it was likely that the chimney had never been serviced. They determined that we had serious lime build up due to the fact that we were missing a chimney cover and rain had been coming into the chimney for quite some time. They cleaned the lime build up and replaced the chimney cover. During their assessment they also determined we had a crack in our chimney. They could have sold us an expensive fix but instead they provided a less expensive fix and indicated they'd come back out in the Spring to see if it worked or if we would need to do the more expensive fix. We appreciated their knowledge, professionalism and consideration for our budget, and we will definitely call them for our regular service needs.

They gave me an estimate for fireplace repair but no work was performed. Estimate went well, however.

Both workers showed up to clean fireplace/chimney sweep and were very conscientious about laying down carpet cover in front of fireplace. Did a great job cleaning and finished in 15 minutes! Also was able to use Angie's List discount as well. Excellent job and service. Thanks.

They were very prompt and clean. They laid down tarps to protect the floor. They inspected the fireplace and chimney and recommended some updates. I would use them again.

I bought an Angie's List Buy Now Deal for a $97 chimney sweep. Since we have two fireplaces the total cost was double the amount and I was able to pay the difference at the time of service. They did a good job cleaning the chimney and the bottoms of the fireboxes as well as checking for items in need of repair. They identified two items in our chimney that needed to be addressed and provided a quote. I appreciated knowing that these items needed attention and will likely hire them to do the remaining work.

They were prompt, very courteous and clean. They were also efficient and the price was right. I would recommend them to anybody.

The technician was very professional and honest. He explained to us exactly what the issue was and we were able to correct the issue ourselves. Master Sweep gave us a refund for our deposit as he knew we did not require a chimeny cleaning. How wonderful to have such an honest and helpful company service our home. He arrived on time, inspected the chimney inside and then got his ladder and inspected the exterior, the caps, and inside the top. He gave me lots of information about what I needed and when I needed to to complete it. He even wrote up a bid for everything needed, but gave me no pressure whatsoever about using his company. I appreciated that immensely. (I was only looking for an inspection and cleaning on this day.) Then he cleaned the fireplace and chimney and was on his way. There was no mess left behind.

The technician was very good. He covered everything around the fireplace to make sure nothing else got dirty. He offered to put me on a list; they call the customers to remind them of the next chimney cleaning.

On the chimney cleaning, Master Sweep was punctual, professional, and coupon price was good. On the additional work to replace the chase cover/cap, they came out, measured, and told us the repair would be done in 2-3 weeks. The cap had to be manufactured to fit, and we were advised that Master Sweep needed a dry day to install the cover and cap- due to critical caulking. Long story short, the install happened on a rainy day ("should be fine") 5 weeks after initial appointment. Overall, they did a good job - but feel Master Sweep was somewhat lax in getting the job done on time, and performed the repair in the rain when we were told it had to be a dry day.

It went fine, I got what I needed to have done for a great price on a special. However they were a little hard to get on the phone for an appointment and were a little late getting here. (It's been awhile so unfortunately I don't remember how late, just was unsure about what was happening since no phone call to say they were running late.) Job didn't take long at all, very quick and i'm assuming efficient (since i don't know how to clean chimney...hard to criticize). They did a quick inspection and made suggestions which were helpful and were in and out in about 15 minutes. (Fast!) No messes left and job done! Thanx!

The cleaning was scheduled for the previous Monday, and they were unable to come in the four hour window they provided! We had to reschedule. Previous cleaners replaces stove gaskets free. This outfit wanted another $160.

When I selected the Master Sweep Big Deal and was I glad I did. They came in perform their work professionally and cleanly, were informative, and helpful with their knowledge and experience in how to keep my fireplace in tip/top working order. They are the best.

Originally we contacted Master Sweep to inspect, clean, add a chimney cap, and perform some tuck point to the upper portion of our chimney. The quote was what we expected ( I think it was very reasonable) and it included the removal and disposal of the wood burning fireplace insert. We discovered that due to the age of the fireplace insert that we could not sell our house in the future with the insert in place due to the change in EPA standards ( a heads up to any of you homeowners with an old insert!!). When Jason and Jeff removed the fireplace insert we discovered that a previous homeowner who installed the insert had an eight inch hole cut out of the fireplace bricks all the way through to the outside of the house and mounted the blower to the outside of the chimney. It obviously required more work than expected. Jason fit us into their busy schedule and returned to complete the repair and it looks great!! Jason and Jeff were on time, did an excellent job, they were very professional and took great care in laying out drop clothes on our carpet and made sure that they cleaned up when they were finished. I highly recommend Master Sweep to anyone needing their fireplace cleaned and or repaired. My wife and I look forward to having a fire in our clean and repaired fireplace at Thanksgiving and Christmas thanks to Master Sweep and Jason and Jeff!!
