Master Sweep

Everything went excellent! They did a great job.

The fireplace involved is gas, not wood burning which means chimney cleaning is not needed (which we didn't know when we bought the "Big Deal"). However, they inspected the firebox and identified an area that needed repair. They applied what we had paid for the cleaning to the cost of the repair.

They arrived on time, cleaned the fireplace and replaced the cap quickly. Gave me information on ways to have the chimney draw to avoid discoloring the brick. They were reasonable, friendly and fair.

installation seemed to go smoothly and they were pleasant when they were here. HOWEVER, the crown cracked and rain started leaking into the interior of the chimney. I called them and left a couple messages. They eventually came out to discuss with me but when I made it clear that the leak was from the crown into the interior of the chimney they all of sudden became too busy and said they would come back to fix it when the weather cleared up. I think they came out in person because they thought that the leak would be coming from the transition between the roof flashing and the chimney (aka a new job they could charge me for). But when I told them that the roof was brand new and that I personally climbed up on the chimney and saw the cracks, they agreed that this was their fault. The quality of the concrete work on the crown was dreadful and wish I had looked at it in person when they initially installed it. They never came back to fix the problem they left me with. I called them many, many times and they never would return my call. It is really sad when a contractor will not stand by his work and this shows a serious lack of ethics. I will NEVER use these guys again.

Last year I purchased a deal through Angie's List for Master Sweep. As always, life got busy and I forgot to schedule the job...fast forward to a year later and my chimney gets clogged, smoke is backing up into the house, and I am no longer able to use our wood stove. Of course this reminds me that I had purchased a chimney sweep, but realize when I pull it up that it has long expired. I contacted Master Sweep to see if I would be able to use the coupon amount toward the price of a chimney sweep and they said they would honor the deal for no extra charge! Jason gave me a courtesy call a half hour before arrival and showed up right on time. They completed the sweep very quickly and professionally. They were very neat, courteous, and knew exactly what they were doing. I could not be happier. I am currently sitting in front of my warm wood stove, enjoying the heat once again. Two men arrived and one put out protection for the rug and swept the chimney while the other cleaned the dryer vent. They worked well together, and then left.

It went really well and was very simple. We also discussed gettting chimney caps in the future and have an estimate should we decide to get them. We would use this company again.

First experience excellent/ bought service for a friend--provider was non responsive on phone for weeks, he finally fired his secretary and is doing scheduling himself. service has improved as a result.

We had recently moved into a new to us home, and needed the chimney inspected so that we knew it was safe to use. The two resources showed up on time and inspected the chimney inside and out. It didn't need to be cleaned, but some work was needed on the cap that would be best done in warmer weather. Since a cleaning wasn't needed, they applied the amount of spent on the coupon to the future service. I will update this review when the final service is performed. At this time, I've very pleased with the level of communication, and the value for my money.

Our appointment was scheduled promptly. They arrived at the scheduled time and the work was done very quickly and courteously. We paid an extra amount because we had an insert. In the fine print it was stated that there would be an "$60 extra charge for chimneys with an insert due to the length of time involved with proper cleaning". Since the amount of time it took to do the cleaning (which was all done from inside the house) was so brief, I really do not think extra time was involved. The price was my only concern. The work was done promptly and the house was left in good order.

They were quick about getting us scheduled. They came out when they said they would, cleaned and inspected the chimney and put a chimney cap on. They explained any issues with the chimney. Very nice, efficient (they were in and out of here FAST) and knowledgeable and helpful.

He did a great job, we were really happy with him. We were going to clean the dryer vent as well but he said it was already cleaned so he refunded the money. They put a cap on it as well so that air isn't blowing in the chimney.

There was some challenge in making initial contact, but once we got through that the work was done quickly and was done very well. Both workers who came to the house were polite, professional, and took great care to keep the house clean. They were also very patient with my 3-year-old son, who was very interested in what they were doing. The only reason I graded the company down was because not long after they did the work, we sold the house. On Thursday, 2-28-2013 the buyers requested we complete repointing on one of the chimneys. I called that morning to request a quote on repointing the chimney. I asked to have it by the end of the day if possible and was told early the next morning was more likely. The next day came and went and no quote arrived. On Saturday morning, 3-2-2013, I called to ask about the quote and was told that they thought if I couldn't have it by Thursday afternoon I didn't want it. I clarified that I DID still want the quote if at all possible and was told I would have it "within a couple hours." It never came. I called on Sunday, 3-3-2013 and reached voice mail. I left a message with my name and address requesting the quote. As of today, 3-17-2013, I have not received a return call or a quote. I couldn't wait any longer as the close of the sale of the house was quickly approaching so we had another company do the repointing. I was disappointed because they did a good job on the initial work. One of the other chimney repair people who did come and give a quote on the repointing even commented on how well they completed the work they did.

It was very quick, they arrived on time. They did what they said they were going to do and were done in ten minutes.

They were prompt, efficient, and clean- no dirty tracks in my house, etc.

Master Sweep was very clean and very fast. It was good, there was no bad experience. They seem very easy to work with.

The Master Sweep team of 2 came on time to sweep out my chimney. They were careful about my hardwood floors and were very helpful as they described what they were doing. They oiled my damper which was difficult to move. They suggest an upgrade to my chimney top and even assembled a sample knowing that I would not be purchasing that upgrade that day. They were helpful and efficient. They suggested notes for the roofer the next time I have the roof replaced.

They did a great job! We were surprised at how clean the process was. They were very professional and we will definitely be hiring them again when the time comes.

They were somewhat fine. I had a little trouble getting in touch with them but it's not a big deal.

Took a few days to hear back but they were great, professional, quality caps, happy with it from start to finish!

I contacted the owner of this firm to clean the two chimney's (hence the double fee) in a rental property for a really fussy tenant. After the initial arrangemnt on my end, the vendor took over scheduling with the tenant and I've heard no complaints. I very much enjoyed feeling as if I could turn this over to my tenant and not have to be present. The vendor's repsonse to my calls inspired that confidence. I assume the job was done correctly.
