Master Sweep

The technician that came was knowledgeable and helpful. He was professional and did a good job.

We were really pleased with Master Sweep. The gentlemen were professional and explained what was needed and how they would go about getting it taken care of. They called ahead to let us know they were on their way arriving within the prearranged time frame. They were in and out in about an hour.

Showed up on time. They were clean and professional. I hired them to clean the chimney and dryer vent. I would use again. The only issue, which I didn't realize until they were gone and fixed, was a broken fan mechanism caused by insertion of a vacum from the outside. They didn't realize it, nor did I until the next day. It's an old house. Other than that, no problems.

The initial visit was prompt. We had a terrible smell emanating from our chimney cleanout in the furnace room. I also needed the dryer vent vacummed out. They came at the appointment time and cleaned out the chimney cleanout. Regarding the dryer vent, they vacuumed the debris out but cut the vent tubing so short it didn't reattach to the dryer easily or properly. I had to reattach it myself and I am afraid to every move the dryer out again because the vent tubing has no where to go but to pop off. They also installed a single flue over our multi flue chimney and measured for a multi flue cap that needed a special order. I ordered the cap and set a date for installation. On that date I called to confirm timing and was told that it hadn't been ordered and we then set another installation date for two weeks. On that date I called and was told they would get back to me with what was going on. I called back and was told the same thing. I tried for 4 days to determine what was going on and still have yet to receive a call or email. This was incredibly frustrating and I would never use them again!

Master Sweep did a great job on our chimney. They were prompt, professional, and delivered even more than what they promised. They came out to sweep our chimney. They repaired failing mortar, and added a chimney cap. They took the time to explain what they were doing, cleaned up after themselves, and even cleaned our clogged gutter while up on the roof working on the chimney! Afterwards, they gave us tips on the best way to make a fire and care for our chimney. We will have them back whenever we need service in the future, and we would recommend them to anyone who asked, without reservation.

Since it has passed more than one year, I don't remember their prices. The work has done two separate times, because the wether. they explained very clearly what they saw on the roof top and gave me the estimate. A few month later, they came back and took off the loose blocks replaced them. I'm very satisfied their work.

They showed up on time, cleaned the chimney & fireplace. Noticed water damage and suggested that we put the rain cap at the top opening of the chimney. They had the supplies and did the work very professionally. We don't know if we got a good deal on the rain cap, but now we don't have to worry about rain damage.

I ordered a chimney cleaning "Big Deal" from Master Sweep. It took them some time to get back to me to schedule a date and time, longer than the time indicated on my confirmation email. This wasn't a big problem, as there was no particular rush, it just made me wonder if something had gone wrong with my order. Once they got in contact everything went smoothly. We made an appointment, they came and cleaned the chimney very briskly and neatly. They recommended other services but did not push when I declined. I appreciate this. As the work they performed is out of sight up the chimney, it's hard for me to say if they did a fabulous job, a good job, or a poor one. But they were brisk, courteous, and did not leave a mess.

I didn't have any problems. They were timely and they were efficient. It only took them about an hour. I didn't have much interaction with the workers.

Very professional, honest and knowledgeable. We purchased the raincaps at an additional cost, but felt they were worth it. I would highly recommend Jason and anyone who works for him. We were very satisfied with the work.

Jason arrived and was professional removing shoes and being sure to set a clean work space. He efficiently cleaned the fireplace, removed debris, inspected the firebox and reviewed the findings. He advised me of things to watch for, maintenance timelines and suggestions on good service locations for new doors etc. He was knowledgable and not pushy in his suggestions for future work. I had a previous suggestion to use Jason's services, I'm glad Angie's list had him has a deal of the day.

The service was fine. They did what they said they would do at a reasonable price. They seemed knowledgeable. I would tell the other members to go ahead and use them. It was a big deal purchase. The price was good.

Because of the extensive nature of the work Jason was recommending, I got a second opinion and second bid. Master Sweep's quote was the lowest overall (higher on the chimney cap & flashing, but lower on rebuilding the firebox) and so I gave him all the work. He performed admirably on time as scheduled and cleaned up everything inside perfectly even after a very dirty job. They were competent and professional and I will definitely call them again.

It went fine and they said we didn't need a sweep. They happily refunded our money since we didn't need one.

They arrived at the later end of their scheduled time, though they were very quick to do their work. I've never had chimney services done before, so their abbreviated service call (30 minutes total) was confusing to me. I expected that it would take longer to do what needed to be done. The inspection found a bird nest in my basement chimney. When they left, I could still see it, or part of it, in there. Maybe they couldn't remove it all? Again, their quick service made me feel they weren't as thorough as they should have been. They were clean, removing their shoes when entering my home, using drop clothes on the floors around the fireplaces.

It went very quickly and efficiently. He arrived when he said he would, did his work and was done with both tasks quickly.

Master Sweep staff were prompt and professional. I would call them again, if work on the chimney was needed.
