Master Sweep

They were very fast. they did a good job of making sure they did not make or leave a mess. they were also very professional and shared with me what to expect as far as future maintenance needs and what type of use would lead to any change in that maintenance schedule. They also took time to explain requirements/recommendations to a potential future home improvement that i shared with them regarding a pellet/wood stove insert. Very knowledgeable team and very efficient. Almost too efficient as they were so fast that i felt almost i had paid too much for the service. that said, they did good work and i was satisfied with the results and their input.

The person that came out was prompt and professional. We just bought this house and we didn't know what was up the chimney. He looked up and said the chimney is perfectly clean and it doesn't need cleaning. He looked at the outside of the chimney and said we could do some tuck pointing or we could put a vent on the top and adjust the Big Deal coupon at that time.

The big problem was contacting them and getting them to come when I was available. The contact phone was usually not answered. They didn't always call back when I left a message. They didn't schedule a time when I was going to be home. They came even though I told them I wouldn't be home. Finally I was home when they came, because I wasn't feeling well enough to go out. Because the chimney didn't need cleaning, I can apply the cost to some of the work needed.

They showed up on time. They were very professional but friendly. They did not attempt to up sell but did walk me through areas that needed to be given attention in the coming years. The work was stelar and they cleaned up after themselves.

Jason arrived promptly at the allotted time. In addition to needing my chimneys swept, I had other concerns and asked him to quote me some work. After the work was complete (there was no mess left after the work) Jason did an inspection of the chimneys, made some suggestions about future improvements and handed me a quote on the spot. We were very pleased with his work. I've already forwarded his name and number on to another friend.

They were very efficient. Most companies have you waiting for a longer period after you purchased the Big Deal. He did make some recommendations from other aspects but nothing that had to be done at that point. Everything was clean. He was on time and the work was done. The price was good, because it was a Big Deal. They were punctual. He gave me the proper feedback. I have another fireplace and I will be calling him back when I decide to get that one cleaned. They were out here two or three days after I purchased the Big Deal. I did not pay more than the initial price of the Big Deal. There were no extra charges.

They were fast to get an appt. and showed up on time. They gave me the coupon price even though I hadent purchased it yet. Would higly recomend, and this was the first cleaning I've had done since purchasing the house in 2007,and am relieved it is safe.

Found a crack and we rescheduled for the repair which was quickly done 2 weeks later. We should be good to go for the winter fires.

Purchased Chimney cleaning through a "big deal" from Angies list. Company was prompt and courteous when performing the work. Had another Chimney company come in later to perform masonry work, while performing the work they pointed out to us that the previous work done by master sweep did not fully clean the chimney and that too small of a brush was used as the walls were still coated with creosote. My wife then called Master Sweep to let them know that their work was insufficient, Master sweep then scheduled a date to come out (June 29th) and fix the situation but they never came out or called and would not return our messages. I would not recomend this company.

He was excellent. Provided a great service plus offered suggestions for improvement. Very knowledgable.

They gave me a date and time that they would perform the work. It was a rental house, so we had to take time out to meet them at the house, however, they never arrived. When we finally got through to them on the phone, the gal claimed we never scheduled a time. I told her that she had emailed us the time and date and she still denied it. Although this was their mistake, they didn't make room for us in their schedule for two weeks. I believe this was because the work had already been paid for, as it was a special offer discount.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went really great. The guy I was talking to was very thorough and gave me really honest feedback about things I needed to think about in terms of the lifetime of the chimney. He also talked about other things that there was no particular rush to do so I really felt he was trustworthy.

I have a 20 year guarentee on the safety of my chimney! That is excellent service! He came out promptly and quickly! He was very knowledgable and friendly!

Instead he only cleaned the woodstove. We were very disappointed.

The cleaners were on time, provided a very good job, and were very polite and took time to discuss what they had done.Much moreprofessional than previous cleaners. They were also very neat and left no debris.

Great. They left the fireplace and surrounding tile clean.

They did a great job and were very conscientious about not getting soot in the house. He pointed out and explained that the fireplace had a large gap that needed attention and took care of it for a minimal charge.

Master Sweep had to make an appointment with my renter and my renter didn't get right on it. So, there was a delay, but it wasn't Master Sweep's fault. I didn't deal with them directly. I did, but I didn't. The only thing was, I live in Vancouver and they were down in Portland.

Master Sweep came out. They did a good job, I was happy. They came out real soon, within a week. There were no extra charges. I think he was very professional. he did try to do a little up-sell. That was something that I was not really interested in. Other than that everything was good. The quality of service was excellent. Overall they were nice.

That didn't turn out very good. He just wouldn't come out and perform the service at the price that was quoted. He wanted an extra $50 so I just said, "Cancel it." I have had the work done, but not by him. I can't comment on his work since he didn't do any. He put something on as a deal and refused to fulfill the deal as he'd put it forth. It listed the various counties that he serviced and I was in that county when I acquired the deal and then he called and said, "You live farther out than I'd thought. I'd have to charge you an extra $50." So, I would say he needs to reword what he's offering or fulfill what he's offering. The deal was made in April so I haven't had any contact since the two or three weeks after that time when we had the last contact in about the middle of May. I wouldn't say they were rude about it, it's just, "We can't do it at that price." Then I said, "Just refund my money," and he said, "OK," and then that went on for several weeks. So then I just filed for a refund through Angie's List. When it came to the refund I would have to grade him a 'D'. I just figured it would be a simple thing, he didn't perform the service so he would just refund it, but I had to go through Angie's List to get the refund. I think they must advertise what they offer.

I purchased a Big Deal $109.00 for Professional Chimney sweep and Inspection. They came out and the experience way okay. It was a simple job but they seemed like they were in a hurry and trying to rush through the job. I don't think I would use them again.

Originally MS came to clean the chimney; however, the tech discovered that the damper was installed improperly and that the chimney flu needed adjustment. Great company - they were very quick and efficient in getting the job done!
