Master Sweep

Went very quickly. He was professional and clean.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. Everything seemed to go well and it did not take long at all; we are a very small house. It took him about 20 minutes and that was it. He did not go outside other than to just stand there and glimpse up at the chimney on the outside. He did suggest that we have it treated and he is going to call us back in a year. I told him that is something we will have to decide then. I did not get a lot of information from him other than he said the chimney looks fine inside. He was a nice person and seemed like he knew what he was doing. They were very nice and his gal called soon after I purchased and gave me information about their schedule. They were very busy, but I was not in any hurry so it was fine. They did exactly what they could.

Sweeping fine but rudimentary--dusted with broom and vacuumed, that was it. I asked to have damper looked at because it closes unexpectedly--obviously a hazard for fires. The worker just said there was nothing he could do about it. Seemed more interested in quoting additional services. I suspect the damper just needs some cleaning to resolve issues but this organization couldn't be bothered despite the charges for cleaning.

Excellent service all around. Arrived promptly, very friendly, questions were answered and suggestions given, as requested.

Jason was clean prompt and informative. He was able to give a great analysis of the chimney and ways I can keep repair costs down. I will use him in the very near future to put a chimney cap on. Great company, will use them again!

They arrived very punctually on the day of the inspection purchased by the coupon, completed the work VERY neatly (no small feat when dealing with fireplaces) and pointed out further repairs they'd recommend -- the need for a cap as the old one had broken, and that the fireplace didn't have a damper (we have a very old house). They gave a complete estimate on the further repairs, and were not defensive when we said we'd be getting other bids. In the end, we went with them for the additional work, due to their professionalism, knowledge of chimneys, personable service, reasonable price, and promptness. Several outstanding features of the work were that 1) there was a car in the way that couldn't be moved on the original scheduled day and with NO change fee and no objections they just re-scheduled for another day that was mutually convenient. and 2) they drove all the way back across town for a missing part, returning to finish the job on the same day as promised. I regret that I can't say how much it cost, as I can't put my hands on the receipt. $800? $900?

He told us that he could not sweep our chimney

Since it is a new installation wood stove, within the last couple years, a from-the-roof work not needed, I am guessing. My only "gripe" is that I wish on the initial on-line offer, that the service requires higher cost on wood stoves as compared to a fireplace. Jason was most efficient.

It went well. He found some problems with the chimney and we made an appointment to have it repaired. He also offered to spread moss-removal stuff on the roof while he was up there. That was quite helpful of him.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased for a friend. It worked out great. There were no issues and everything worked out perfectly.

I thought the add said all types of chimneys were included in the cleaning. Master Sweep said they would charge $40 more to do a wood stove insert.

It was great. They gave me an estimate on some future work and my experience with them was positive so I'll end up using him here again in another couple of years to treat the exterior of my chimney as well. They were on time and were very courteous and efficient in the work that they did. They cleaned up after themselves.

We purchased an AL deal to have our two chimneys cleaned. I'm sure they were swamped with demand after that deal as it took several weeks for our scheduled appointment. The contractor came and looked at both chimneys and advised us of a few repairs and quoted that work for us. His quote was fair so we scheduled a return appointment to take care of the cleanings and the suggested repairs. I was happy with the contractor's work and the quotes provided were fair. We have light carpeting near one fireplace and he was careful to not make a mess during the cleaning and did a great job. Overall we're satisfied with the work done and would recommend Master Sweep to others.

They swept the chimney very well.

Provider was on time when I asked them to be(date and time). Was done quickly, about 1/2 an hour. Pointed out repairs I needed (decided to do at a later date) and there was no mess as everything was covered up. My only issue was regarding the appointment. I was asked to call for a appointment. Took 3 days to get a hold of someone and nobody called me back after leaving messages. This was a prepaid service. In the end it turned out good.

Our chimney was cleaned to our liking. They were on time and it was a lot less messy than I thought. Very clean and very through.

The technician was very informative and gave us good suggestions on how to keep our fire place from smoking. He told us there is a part we could attach above our screen that would help with our smoking issue if his other suggestions didn't work. It was worth the time and money to have our chimney serviced by Master Sweep.

The provider missed first appointment completely. They were half hour early and left before we could get there at beginning of four hour window given. There was poor communication about arrival times.

It went great! Very knowledgable and nice

Very poor work performed by the service provider. There was moss remaining in the chimney after cleaned. There was lent flying out of the lent trap outside. I had my roofer come out and he said that they might have been out ten minutes. He pulled moss out of the chimney when he left. I called them back and the person said the work was done and done great. Master tried to make the roofing company look bad to cover their own end.

Master sweep was to call within two days of order of service. It took 10 days after leaving 3 or 4 messages to get a call back. I do not trust a company to do a good job if this the way they treat customers.
