Master Sweep

The work did turn out okay. I was a little taken back by the additional cost that was in the fine print. When I called the lady let me know that I would have to pay an additional $50.00 as I had a wood stove. I did complain and she informed me that was how Angie's List wanted the fine print worded. The work that they did was very good and I was pleased with that.

It was fine. It was for our rental home. As far as our tenants are concerned, they said that it went well and it was just fine. So they did a fine job. They were efficient and got the job done and no problem. We called them and said what we wanted, we paid and they did the job with little trouble for us. And our tenants are happy. As far as we are concerned, we are satisfied. The price was good.

It was fine. It was unremarkable, it was as expected.

We had not had our fireplace cleaned since we had moved in 1993, we have a woodstove installed. We also have had birds in the chimney the last 5 to 6 years so we have not used the woodstove. The chimney didn't need cleaning and the birds nest my husband removed so we didn't get charge for cleaning. We decided to have a Cap installed on the chimney which Master Sweep came back about 4 weeks later to Install the cap & we also had them clean the dry vent which was very bad. They did an awesome job & I will be calling them again.

Fast, on time and chimneys are clean. They overbilled us, but seemed like a genuine and sent back a check promptly.

Jason, from Master Sweep arrived promptly for the appointment, explained what he was going to do, and what we had paid for. He cleaned out the firebox in our chimney, inspected our chimney, cleaned it thoroughly, determined a stainless cap was needed on the chimney to prevent any further rain and water damage. He was on the roof, examining the flashing from the roof to the chimney, noted rain runoff patterns from the roof flowing to the chimney. [ Jason explained the rain runoff could soften the bricks.] He made recommendations for followup next summer to powerwash and waterproof our chimney. He also cleaned our dryer vent and looked at other flashing from our furnace through our roof, and provided some advice and next steps. This is only the second time our chimney has been cleaned in 15 years. We do not use the fireplace very much, but I am confident we will use it more often. Overall, I was extremely happy with the service we received and the information I learned from the professional at Master Sweep Chimney Professionals.

They gave us a solution of using a propane torch to warm up the lower pipe as it leaves the wood stove. Works like a charm. They also cleared our quite stuffed dryer vent and released my anxiety about that. I KNEW it needed cleaning. Friendly guys. Two worked on our house.

the cleaning went great except he was supposed to show up first thing in AM, showed up around 12 instead so I had to reschedule which took multiple phone calls to do the office is horrible at returning phone calls and again took multiple calls to schedule the recommended repairs Repair basically looks like he basically threw some grout on back of fireplace where it was missing, not very neatly done We had him repair a broken tile on hearth. When he was done, the broken piece was sitting up a good bit from the rest of the hearth. We had him undo his work and leave the broken tile as it was previously. Can't believe he thought it was a good way to leave it! Would not use again for any repairs

Great!! Provider was punctual, explained what he was going to do, gave us a brief explanation of fireplace safety, took care of the job and was done in a mater of minutes.

Okay. showed up on time. took about 30 minutes to complete job. explained options for extra services and quote. Nice enough and very tidy.

It was pretty good. He recommended a chimney cover or I asked him about a chimney cover. I thought it was a little expensive. I haven't had any problems.

Vendor spent 15 minutes to clean the chimney and offered suggested services. The work was good, but the price is too high. $97.-- for 15 minutes work is too much

On time, but I wasn't sure what to expect. Seemed overpriced for just a few min of work.

Cleaned wood stove flue in preparation for winter. | |Called that could do the work ~1 week earlier than scheduled. Was good at working with my schedule. Did cleaning. Pointed out that deposits were heavier than expected. Discussed what could be causing that and made suggestions. | |Good quality work, easy to deal with, personable. Would certainly work with again.

She was very pleased with everything from start to finish. This is her first winter in her new place. It was a good thing we had it checked because he did say "she could have had a chimney fire"

Contractor was awesome! Perfect work, on time, very professional w/great advice for ongoing home protection.

Originally I contracted to clean chimney -- Via Angies List Big Deal. | |Then, I had them remove my woodstove insert, install new flue and remove old chimney cover. They were genial and worked quickly. All the work, including the chimney sweep , was completed in one morning.

He just did the sweeping and he didn't find any problem which is great. Then he gave me some tips for what to do in the future because my house needs a new foundation. He talked me through the process and things that he would recommend in the future but not now because they said to hold off until the house gets fixed. He's a very honest guy and he did everything what they're advertising. They also showed up on time.

They left a mess behind them. I shouldn't have to clean up after them.

When Jason arrived, he advised that our chimney was in good shape and clean and did not need the sweeping, so he offered to refund money. He also gave us advice about installing a rain cap and fixing flashing. Did a good job of educating.

Terrible office staff! I scheduled this about a month ago. I was told that the service would be done between noon and the end of the day. I scheduled my workday accordingly. There was a miscommunication in the office. Jason called saying he was at my house around 9AM. ( I was at work) I called the office to clarify and see if they could come at noon. The woman who answered was very rude and eventually hung up on me. First of all, she had me on speakerphone which made it difficult to hear. I eventually asked her to pick up the phone. I explained the issue. She said that there was nothing written on the calendar about what time during the day my chimney would be cleaned. I assured her that I had written noon-5. She disputed that. She said that I was the only chimney cleaning scheduled for today and that Jason had another project to get started on - if she could get a hold of him before he started the other project then maybe he could clean my chimney but that if he had started the other project he wouldn't be stopping. I explained that I was at work and this had been scheduled for weeks. She interrupted me said firmly, "yes it has" but there is nothing she could do about it now. She was rude and defensive. When I told her that I wanted her to quit interrupting and listen to me she said "Sir, Jason will call you" and hung up. I get that miscommunications in the office happen. I am disappointed that this service that has been scheduled for weeks didn't happen. However, there is no reason to be defensive and rude to customers.
