Master Sweep

They came by right on time and worked very quickly, finishing up in about 15 - 20 minutes. He told me a lot of info about my fireplace that I didn't know and left everything very clean. All in all, it was perfect! I will be using this service again.

I plan to use them again!He was running late because a co-worker hadn't shown up, but he made it a little after the scheduled time.

They were great. I hired them later to do other work. They were professional, knowledgeable and expedient. I would recommend them.

He arrived on time, quickly did the work, and left everything clean. He also installed caps over our chimneys.

Were in and out within 1/2 hour. They used no scopes and visually inspected from the ground, did not go up on the roof to look at external chimney. It took a few calls to be able to get the appointment window time.

Very well. They were really nice and thorough. We have a lot wrong with our chimney. He wasn't pushy at all and explained what we had to do immediately and what could wait. They came in and fixed the essential issue. We are going to wait on the other problems, but will use them again. Also, we had some soot built up on the face of the chimney. My wife has been trying to clean it for some time and he threw in some cleaner for free that cleaned it right up. I feel almost bad marking them down for punctuality. They said it would be around 9, but due to another job it may be around 10. They ended up getting here around 10:30. So they were minimally late but we appreciated them letting us know about this possibility up front.

They were great. They offered to come out a few weeks after we purchased the deal but we just didn’t get scheduling done and that wasn’t their fault. When I did finally get a hold of them, they were able to come out within 2 weeks. They charged us $97 for one chimney but then we bought a second deal.

Everything was great. The two guys who came out were nice, answered all of my questions, and did a great job. They even vacuumed out all the ash in my fireplace! The technician who was up on the roof explained how my chimney cap became loose and suggested a potential fix, but put no pressure on me to do it while they were there. A+

He told me the chimney top was not built properly and should be fixed (said his company could fix it). I have had prior chimney sweeps who never mentioned this as well as home inspection when I bought the home in 2001 who did not mention this. I did not get it fixed. Not sure how thoroughly dryer vent was cleaned, as the last person who cleaned it took longer to clean it.

We are in need of a small repair so he gave us a quote for that along with a couple other items we inquired about. The gentleman was very professional and knowledgeable. Came within the time frame given and went over everything in detail with us. We are currently considering the options for repair so have not yet used complete services but I wanted people to know they are stand-up business.

When I made the appointment I was not given a time but was told I would hear from someone the day before. I asked to have a note made that I wanted a 30 minute call so that I did not have to sit around all day waiting for them to show up. I called the day before scheduled service day and left message asking for a phone call to let me know where I was on the schedule. Never heard back. Two guys showed up at 9:10 AM and luckily I was at home. Said they had not message regarding schedule or 230 minute call. Took about 20 minutes on fireplace and same amount of time on dryer vent. (I made very good notes on back on service invoice so despite the time lapse in submitting review I do remember them) They were two scruffy looking guys . They did clean up and not leave a mess. As I was signing the invoice one of the workers said " Oh yeah..here is your note wanting a phone call" They blamed it on a sick secretary.

Master Sweep was great. Showed up as expected, no hard sell or fear tactics - just honest, straightforward and efficient. Definitely recommend them and will use them again.

My original request was to inspect two chimneys - one for a gas stove that is heavily used and one for a wood-burning fireplace with insert that is unused. Jason was great - he inspected the gas fireplace chimney and indicated it was in good shape (it is capped and no cleaning was needed). He inspected the wood burning fireplace and based on the fact that it's unused (and no plans to use) recommended that I not spend the money to clean and rehab at this time. He also let me know that the insert is not up to code and would need to come out prior to selling the house (no plans to do so currently). I had my house re-roofed under warranty in September and during the course of his inspection, recommended that the flashing be redone by the roofing company or he could do it. To ensure that the chimney wouldn't leak between his visit and next spring, he caulked the chimney. Since none of the chimneys required cleaning, I was able to apply my Angie's List deal to the chimney caps, which were installed on 11/21/13 (original visit was on 10/26/13).

We were happy with the service. They wanted to make sure the job was done right.

Later in the year we had significant problems with smoke backing into the house, although we don't know if this is at all related, it is disheartening.

They were on time and very thorough. It had been two years since the last cleaning and the technician said that based on the the condition and our usage that a cleaning every other year was fine. I appreciated the honest feedback. I'll make sure that I have Master Sweep back in two years.

Called Jason and he was able to set up an appointment quickly. He was on time and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

Master Sweep cleaned the chimney and inspected the chimney and fireplace. They identified a much-needed repair to prevent a possible fire hazard, offered a good price for the repair, and returned to complete that job as well.

Went well, provided good feedback regarding the state of our chimney. Would use again.

They came in, set up and completed the job thoroughly. Jason did an inspection and said we had some water damage, but the fireplace was fine to use this winter. He did suggest we get a new cap this summer. He said now that the company had us on file, they would contact us in the summer and he would do a free inspection annually when he was in our area. This is the first time we have used Master Sweep, and were happy with the service.

It turned out just fine. They came out the end of October and we ended up having to spend more money. We needed a chimney cage, like a park arrester on the top of the chimney. The whole bill was like about $500 in total. We had some issues with his office personnel. The first couple of times I called, I've had to deal with the person who answered the phone being rude to me and being very unprofessional.

Both were pleasant to interact with and professional with their work.

Provided chimney and drier duct sweep and installed a chimney cap. The crew was great. Our only complaint was getting an initial response to schedule the service.
