The installation technicians were on time and friendly. I have no complaints with them. However, the system they installed is extremely noisy, much more than we expected. It's not just that it's loud. When it starts up, it makes a loud squealing noise that is akin to nails on a chalkboard. We mentioned this immediately after installation, but they said it was "normal" and that if we'd wanted less noise, we should have paid for a more expensive unit. The unit is from the legacy Bryant line, but I really did not expect the new unit to be louder than our 20 year old system. They said we could add some kind of blanket that might help, but I don't want to throw more money into this without knowing if it will work. We had the system installed last summer. It cools the house nicely, so no complaints there. I just wish I'd known how annoying this sound would be before putting in the system.

Used this company b/c we were selling our home and the buyer's repair addendum listed he needed proper documentation that a certified company would do a tune up on a/c and furnace. This company was a nightmare to work with--Technician was fine but the office staff, was unprofessional and flat out flaky with my case. I called mid Oct. to schedule the tune up and stressed the fact that we would need a copy of the full report to send to our realtor as this was needed for the sale of our home. They assured me this would be done. At this time, payment was made as we were told it would be cheaper to pay ahead. Fast forward roughly two weeks to after the technician came and we are two days before the closing date deadline...still no invoice receipt of the payment made or that report that was promised. I called and told them I needed that soon. They didn't have any answers..called me back an hour later and told me they would "look into it" and that their system was down and would call me the following morning with more answers. Never got that call. My realtor had to get involved and gave them a call and they had promised her they would have the documents in her inbox by 10 am morning of closing date. Day of closing and I receive a call from them at noon, keep in mind this is past the 10 am time they promised my realtor. I was told at this time that the reason they never provided that was because there was an "outstanding unpaid balance" because the "card didn't go through when the technician serviced the house" --i'm sorry, it took you three weeks since I scheduled to realize no payment was made? Which, after confirming with bank statements, was false and I was in fact double charged. I immediately called and told her I was double charged and that a card was never ran by the technician because we paid ahead and I knew something was fishy. They argued with me and insisted that their technician did run a card. False! And your records should show we already paid! She told me she would "look into it" and "investigate." I never got a call back and from that point on has been a back and fourth of me having to call her to track down my $258 that was double charged. I kept getting some ******** excuse from her every time that she would "have this taken care of for you by the end of the week." never got a call. So when I called to check up it was "my boss comes back from town on Thursday, I'll have it to you by then." And then it was that she needed to call the bank and verify ??!?! Verify what? if you keep telling me you are going to have it taken care of, you're implying you have addressed and issue, yet have taken no action. When you double charge a client (we are talking hundreds) and it takes you almost a month to give them their money back, to which the CUSTOMER has to hound you down for it because you keep wiping your *** with it...that's an issue and not a good representation of the company. Finally got my money back after one month. They gave one courtesy call to check if the money was there, which is was not at the time. Was told she would call back Monday. Never got that call, but hey, got my money back at least.

Had a quote for replacement first since it was free of charge. Jason gave me a quote with thorough explanation. He pointed the info that I may want to hear and answered all of my questions. I also had a technician, Oren, come over to diagnose the failure of the furnace. He showed me what was wrong and it was not a major failure, so that he could repair right away! All staff I talked seemed very nice and honest.

They were prompt. They came and I left a message in the evening and they came at 10am the next day. I couldn't believe it! He did a great job at explaining things we may need to repair in the future so we can save up some money. He may have saved our lives. He found out the roofer had not attached the carbon monoxide vent pipe and got it attached. Let me know and no charge. His name was Jason and he was awesome!

Efficiency came out and to give me an estimate on a house I was purchasing.  They recommended a size unit that would work with the furnace and walked around the yard to suggest where the unit should go that would not disrupt us.  After I closed on the house, they came out and installed the A/C unit.  Both time, the people were punctual, polite, informative.  Efficiency Heating & Cooling is a top-notch professional company that I would use again!

The A/C (/furnace) unit, which is installed in my attic, was leaking water.  The A/C unit is seldom used, so needed a general checkup as well.  After researching area service providers via multiple online resources, Efficiency Heating & Cooling was my choice.  When I called, my experience with the answering service was less than desirable -- the person was abrupt and did not really seem to be listening to my issues.  When I'd received no call back 25 hours later, I submitted an online service request.  Because the weather was heating up significantly, I figured they were very busy.  However, I still did not receive any call back.

After two days, as I was grumbling to myself that I had to start my research all over again -- AND, feeling confused about how/why my experience could be so different than what I'd read in reviews, I decided to call again to see what response I got.

This time, I spoke to a very courteous and professional man named Eric, who was so apologetic after I'd explained my experience and my confusion about the reviews.  It turns out that there was no record of my original phone call and mine was not the only recent complaint about the answering service, and he also apologized that he'd overlooked my online submission.  He offered to have a service person at my home within a couple of hours.  My schedule did not allow it, and I was fine with waiting until the following Monday.   He immediately offered to discount my service by $50.

On Monday, Jason the service provider was prompt and professional.  He was thorough in his review of my system, and found a vent problem that the original installers had failed to fix 12 years ago.  He found and fixed the leak problem quickly.  He gave me sound advice about future servicing, and did not try to sell me additional services -- in fact, he surprised me by not encouraging me to get multiple checks or services within the next year.  That honesty was refreshing, especially given that I'd expressed a desire to establish a trusting relationship for continuing service.  Given the general maintenance and the repairs that my system received, I felt the $188 price was completely fair, even given my initial customer service issues.

I share my story not to discourage anyone from calling Efficiency Heating and Cooling, but rather to encourage potential customers to research and then trust your gut about your experience.  My research told me that something was wrong with my initial experience, but by giving them another chance, I believe I found a trustworthy service provider. And hopefully, my feedback has helped them to improve their service, as well.

Efficiency Heating & Cooling came to the rescue when another provider cancelled at the last minute. They were friendly and worked to accommodate my very tight schedule. Installation went super smoothly and everything looks and works great. All for less than the other provider was going to charge. Win win! Efficiency is my new go to for all heating and cooling.

Eddie at Effieciency has been extremely helpful in building a custom forced air system for a conversion of an old church space to a duplex unit. He is very professional and really knows his stuff and helped me arrive at something that is going to be a great system for the long run. Great price as well. The quality of work has been outstanding and communication very fast and pleasant as well. They have been able to accomplish work with great deal of care and quality and work on a quick timeline. I would highly recommend them! You want someone you can trust with such a big project!

My experience with them was good.  They were really good.  I might have chosen them because of the interviews on Angie’s List or maybe I got a coupon or something.  I think their price was good.  I just got that one thing done.  I think the price was comparable to everybody else or it might have been better, but I can’t remember.  It wasn’t bad though.  They just came out and looked at it, and it was good.  Everything was fine and I’ll be using them again.  Their responsiveness was very good.

My old furnace failed on April 3rd, so I had to heat with my pellet stove until I could get a replacement. I asked for bids from two companies. Efficiency's bid was slightly lower, but it included a great deal more in terms of upgrades and services. The estimator was very knowledgeable and he answered all of my questions about the system that he was recommending. The crew that installed the system began work 4 days later and finished in two days. Since the system was High Efficiency, they had to run pvc pipes through the roof for air intake and exhaust because my furnace was too far from an outside wall for them to route it through the wall. They also routed the condensation water from both the furnace and the air conditioner through the wall to the laundry room and used the washing machine drain to get rid of the water, preventing a possible freezing of the condensation water that might have happened in winter if we had used the old drain, which ran out a crawl space vent. None of those ideas came from the estimator of the other company that bid.
The crew was very friendly and didn't mind if I occasionally looked over their shoulders. They would explain what they were doing and why. When they finished work, the area around the furnace looked like it was a new house; very clean. The system works great.
I will say that I was very lucky to have found Efficiency Heating and Cooling. I would use them again.

Fantastic!    Matt was always professional and responsive to any and all questions and concerns.   Once the NW Gas line was installed and inspections approved he showed up at nearly 8pm to turn on my new furnace and went over all the thermostat settings that he'd set for me when it was installed, in case I forgot or wanted to choose different settings.   Nice man and very compassionate about my husband's recent passing.    He knew I was unfamiliar with this whole process and made sure he was available by phone, as questions arose.   He even did the necessary paperwork for my warranty registration and what he could on the state/federal tax credit forms I'll need to submit for my taxes for this year.    I got two other quotes, one slightly lower and one substantially higher and neither was as professional or informative as Matt's.

As a first-time homeowner and a non-fix-it person, I wanted to learn more about my home's important systems, so I called Efficiency Heating & Cooling to come out for a service call hoping to get a better understanding of how to maintain my furnace. Matt gave us a helpful primer on both our furnace and thermostat. He pointed out the accumulation of construction dust in our new furnace and recommended we have the furnace and air ducts cleaned (not a service he provides). After that was done, he came to do a tune-up on the furnace, and he and his crew fixed a few loose ends that had been overlooked in the original install and replaced the old breaker with a correctly calibrated one. Additionally, he ordered new filters that were the correct size and would allow the furnace to function at its best. I was very pleased with the experience and now have a service agreement with Efficiency to make sure the furnace is maintained on time and correctly.

Fantastic experience. Matt was able to come to our house within an hour of us calling for an appointment. He did a very good job at explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. I believe I now have a good sense of some potential future problems with our furnace, but I was able to decide what was most important to fix now to try to extend the life of the furnace. Very low pressure and informative.

Working with Efficiency and Matt went very well.  I would turn to him in the future and recommend him to friends. I know nothing about furnaces and he really took the time to explain and make sure I was comfortable with the work.  Matt was very concerned with the fact that I would have any doubts and made the second trip out to verify all was working well.  Good customer service. He also did not charge for this trip.

Last night our furnace quit working, so around 8:15 PM we called Efficiency Heating & Cooling because they have 24-hour service available.  The dispatcher told us that it that an after-hours call would cost an additional $50 and that a technician would be at our house in about an hour.  We were pleasantly surprised that the premium for an after-hours call was only $50 and I think the technician was there in about 30 minutes.  He spent about an hour diagnosing and fixing the problem.  Even though he was called from home, late at night, and had been up all day; he was courteous, kind, professional, and didn't rush through the repair.  I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.  Thank you Matt for helping us make our house warm again!

We couldn't be any happier with our service from Efficiency Heating & Cooling and our new furnace. They definitely went the extra mile. I had spent some time researching online about gas furnaces but it wasn't easy understanding all of the options available. During the in-home estimate inspection Efficiency patiently explained all of the efficiency ratings, fan speed options, furnace ratings, and installation options. The pros and cons for the various options were clearly laid out and we definitely felt we ended up with the best informed decision we could make after our appointment and after reviewing the estimates we were presented. The installation was performed over two days. The installers arrived promptly each day. I couldn't even tell they had been working in our basement each day because they laid down cloths to keep the area clean where they were working. I could tell our installation probably wasn't going to be very straightforward. We have a partially finished basement which included a ceiling that was directly between the furnace area and our gas meter. They were able to run the heavy gauge gas line through the area and out through a crawl space without any impact to the finished area. All of the lines were kept almost entirely out of sight which I have to say was pretty impressive. We had no heat one night during the installation but Efficiency let us borrow a few of their electrical heaters to keep us warm which was very thoughtful.
After arriving home to our new furnace the first thing we noticed was how quiet it was! And the house really felt warm with a radiant heat feeling. This was a huge contrast to the very loud fan blowing air throughout our house. The two stage fan is definitely worth the extra cost. Our previous heater would go on full blast, turn off for a while, and then go back on full blast. Now the heat softly warms the house rarely having to blow full speed when we're home. We just got our first gas bill and was surprised how low it was. We used to try to limit how much we used the heat because we didn't want to burn too much oil. Oil isn't cheap and I would often find myself calculating how much we were burning with the measuring stick. Now with our efficient gas furnace we can keep ourselves warm all the time without worrying about spending too much money on our heating bill, and thankfully no more oil tank refills to deal with. We can't recommend Efficiency Heat & Cooling highly enough for their services and look forward to working with them again. We are very happy with our furnace installation and feel at ease knowing that our setup has us well positioned for the future.
