Description of Work: I have used Ron (the plumber) from Roto-Rooter on several occasions. Most recently this last Summer to re-plumb a shower that had to be torn out due to a hot water leak, dry rot and black mold. In addition, I had him replace a pressure regulator and the kitchen faucet. He is very good at his job and priced reasonably.

 + 0 moreThe call into Roto-Rooter was serviced by an operator, who then paged the plumber on-call, Matt. Matt responded to the page promptly and was very professional over the phone. He discussed charges clearly over the phone ($126.50/hr, $70/hr overtime, $70 vent charge for climbing onto the roof and accessing the sewage line that way, and $3 gas surcharge). One can avoid the overtime charge by not calling on a weekend (although I was getting desperate since I couldn't use the toilets or showers) and by having a sewer-pipe clean-out access. Matt arrived promptly and got to work quickly. Even though he had to access the sewer through the roof vents, he was done with the cleaning within an hour. Roots were the cause of the clog. After the cleaning, he was patient in explaining how to find where a probable clean-out was located (I suspect mine was buried by the original builders) and how roots got into the sewage system.
Description of Work: I called Roto-Rooter on a Sunday to clear out a sewer line. Plumbing-wise, the house has 2 full baths and a kitchen. At the time, flushing the toilet would result in backing up of dirty water into the bathtubs. I called Roto-Rooter to clean out the sewer pipes.
