We were having a problem with ants in the kitchen & bathrooms and there were wasps flying around our bedroom windows. I called Affordable Pest Control and left a message. Joe called me back the same day. I described the problems we were experiencing. He gave me a quote over the phone that included a discount for using Angie's List. We picked a time for him to come out that was good for both of us. He arrived promptly on the scheduled day with his son. He did an inspection, sprayed for ants and then sprayed for the wasps including finding & removing 2 wasp nests. He gave me some helpful hints if I find a few more ants in the near future. He guarantees his work for 3 months. I haven't seen ants or wasps pretty much since his visit. I would definitely use him again.

Joe and his son did the work together and were very efficient and, so far, very effective. We haven't seen any carpenter ants for about a week. Joe was very understanding when we asked to reschedule our appointment because we needed more detail about what and where the spraying would be done: we have many edible plants close to the house. We rescheduled for the next week. Joe and his son arrived on time and completed the spraying in about an hour. We would recommend Affordable Pest Control to others and use them again if we need re-treatment. Their prices are also very reasonable complared to other pest control companies.

They were very helpful. When they noted that the paper wasps seemed to like building nests under the slide they filled the gaps with steel wool after spraying. Joe went around the perimeter of my house and around the fence in the yard to spray for spiders. He also gave me several sticky traps for the inside of our house. After a month although we did not have any problems in the house with spiders we still saw some in our bushes and on the play structure. I called and left a message. He responded to my message and told me he would be in the area on July 18th and would sop by our house. With my hectic schedule I never got back to him, but on the 18th sure enough he was respraying the perimeter. I appreciate his dedication to customer satisfaction.

When Joe and I spoke on the phone before he came over, he quoted me $200. I mentioned the Angie's List discount of $25 and he agreed to that. Then he asked me if I was a senior. I said yes, and he said that he'd give me another $25 off. I expected to pay $150 at the end of his ant poison application. I was writing the check out when he told me that it would be $175. I reminded him that he had offered a $25 discount because I'm a senior and he said, "I was joking. I was making a point that I could add all kinds of discounts." Sorry Joe, but when you're bidding a job, don't come back and say "I was joking". I gave him the check for $175 but I was disgusted with the unprofessional way he acted.

I decided on Affordable Pest because they had good ratings on Angies list and when I called the gentleman was so helpful and kind. He explained everything to me. He was not in a hurry and made sure he answered all my questions. He was not pushy at all. I can not say enough about how nice they are! I did not want to spray inside due to a dog and grandchild so he gave me some sticky traps to use instead. I am so pleased with this company. I will definately use them yearly. They are also close to my home which makes it nice!

I called on a sunday and left a message to schedule an appointment during my vacation week, and they called me right back the next day. We did play a little phone tag, but they were being responsive. We scheduled an appointment for that same week. They gave me a time for the appointment and they came a few minutes early (I consider that definitely on time). I show them into the back yard and showed them where the problem was, and they got right to work. By the time It took me to go to the bank and return to the house they were done! I waited a few weeks to see if the ants were gone and I have not seen any in a few weeks!

Affordable was great. They called back right away and came out the day after I called. They took care of the problem and gave me an Angie's List discount. I also used them last year for an ant problem and I have not had any ants since then.

As for how it went overall: Joe did what we asked for promptly, effectively and for less than we thought we might have to pay. Plus he has a good sense of humor - no extra charge. Do's: Make this outstanding company the first one you call from the many listings on Angie's alone. Don't: Hesitate to use them.

When they came out to the house they saw that there is a small stream that runs through the property. Since we have been getting a great deal of rain this winter and early spring they said they could not treat the soil around the house because there was risk of the chemicals getting into the stream. We would need to wait for drier weather (if that ever comes). They treated the kitchen counter along the area where ants probably were coming in and also treated along pipes under the floor (this area is easily accessed). The ant problem in the kitchen appears to have been taken care of.

They came out to spray for ants. Two weeks later, the ants came back in the bathroom and they came back and sprayed more. They were very nice and timely. They gave advice for home remedies to help if the ants come back. We have a 3 month guarantee that if the ants come back they will come back and spray. We also got a discount for using Angie's List.

It was a really busy time of the year and he came in and sprayed and was gone. It was taken care of the first time he came. The guy had undersold fairly often which we liked. The price was very good.

We started to notice small ants beginning to show up around our house several months ago. At first, we controlled the ants with commercial spray, which helped to a degree. However, as time went on, the number of ants increased, especially in one of our bathrooms. The ant spray was too smelly to use and was no longer being very effective. Finally, when it got to the point that we would find from dozens to hundreds of ants in the bathroom sink and tub and around the base boards almost every day, we gave in to the inevitable and consulted Angie's List for a local, high rated exterminator. We liked what we read about Affordable Pest Control and gave them a call. Joe, the owner, answered the phone and answered all our questions with professional ease and told us exactly what he would do and how much it would cost. Everything sounded fine to us, so we set up an appointment for a few days later. Joe showed up right on time and went to work immediatly. He was easy to have around and answered all my questions. He first applied a protective barrier of insecticide around the outside of the house. He then came inside, and I shadowed him and bombarded him with questions while he applied the ant control on the inside of the house. Joe was very thorough in applying insecticide on the inside of the house, and he explained to me everything about his methods. Even though we have a fairly large house, Joe was finished with the job in less than an hour. Joe made the experience easy to endure and the insecticide he used inside the house left no smell at all. Before Joe even left the house, there were no ants visible in all the places we normally would see them. Joe left us with some tips on how to better protect against further infestations and explained to us different scenarios we might encounter due to the ants behaviour when they began to figure out the grim reaper was coming for them. We have a three month guarantee and to this point we haven't seen a single ant anywhere around the house. As relieved as we are not to every day find a big tribe of ants in our bathroom or sometimes kitchen or other of their favorite places, I at first missed the daily struggle between ant and man. Joe was extremely professional on the phone and came across as very honest and up front during our conversation. He was very knowledgable about the different options available, showed up exactly on time, and completed the work very quickly. He also gave us some tips to go over with the new tenants to ensure the applications wasn't "wiped clean" as the new tenants moved. I cant emphasize how happy we were of the service provided for the money spent. Joe and Affordable pest Control do great work and go that extra mile to make their customers happy. Joe and Matt were great to work with. I called and left a message yesterday morning re a live rat in my backyard. Joe returned my call and scheduled an appointment for today. They came out this morning and found the rat dead. They determined that the rat had died from punctured wounds probably from a cat. They checked my yard, basement, and shed areas for any other signs of rats. They determined that there were no rats on my property and this one came here from the neighbors to die. They did block a small hole to the basement and identified a furnace vent that I should cover with a screen so mice couldn't get into the house. Joe and Matt were very professional and thorough. Not only did they leave with my dead rat but also they didn't charge me anything! I think I've found my pest control folks for future needs. I definitely recommend them.

When we returned home after an extended trip, we discovered unbelievable rodent damage in the basement. We were leaving again in a few days and I couldn't imagine how we could get the problem taken care of without canceling our trip. I found Affordable Pest Control on Angie's List and explained my problem. Over the phone, we arranged for a neighbor to let him in in our absence. He set and emptied traps for several weeks (even gave me an extra week free) until it appeared that the existing rats were eliminated. He then located the possible points of entry and recommended someone who would handle sealing up the entry points. He also taught me a lot about rats, especially that they can chew through anything! During the entire episode, I believed that Joe wanted to solve the problem just as much as I did. He also wanted to be sure that it doesn't happen again, gently explaining that I shouldn't store bird food in a rubberized container in the basement, for example. He could have charged twice as much and I would have thought I got a great deal.

Joe was very helpful and informative! He was able to locate all problem areas and resolve the problem quickly, without any risk to the children in the house. He came back two weeks later to make sure the mice were gone. He arrived on time and was very pleasant to work with. We have already referred him to a family member, and his company is in our address book as our official pest control company from here on out. I am so happy that we chose a local business instead of calling the large commercial company!
