Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Portland

The technician repaired both items in a one hour service call. We supplied the new handle and parts for the toilet and Mr Rooter supplied the liquid product they poured down the drain. When he was finished they gave us an invoice for $276.00 which included a energy trip charge of $19.00. I called the manager at Mr. Rooter and expressed how unhappy I was with the expense of their service and he basically said we accepted the price and that was their charges. If they charge that energy price to all of their customers all day long they could collect between $150 and $200 on any given day. I do not think it cost that much to fill up a truck every day. We will not go back to Mr. Rooter anytime in the future!

They were excellent all the way through. Very nice phone reception, easy availability, journeyman was very professional and gave us answers to all of our questions - he had every opportunity to "up sell" us solutions or tell us things "couldn't be done that way" like a previous drain cleaner from a different company, but he didn't. Instead, he was as straight as an arrow and very helpful and thus has developed a customer for like in all reality. I fully suspect all our future transactions will be this good.

My Parents main floor drain backed up they called around finally got mr rooter out other companies were booked up. The guy came in cleaned out the drain found roots got everthing done well and sold them some root cleaner to fix problem. Offered a free video inspection so the next day another guy came out to view the line said the line was connected to neighbor and would give estimate on cost to separate line cost over 10,000 + . Father got the eastimate over the phone told the guy he could poop in a hole for the rest of his life before he would pay that . A day or so later got a letter from city saying that the line had to be seperated . Talked to city told them that the line was fine just had some roots but cleared up and the line was good city would not listen . so the neighbor and my parents had to search for a contractor to fix sewer line that were in ok condition . Finally found a company that did the job for both of them for less than half the price that Mr rooter tried to charge and they drilled not digging a trench. I returned the root killer it to was over priced about double what you could get at a building store. They were nice about the returngot the money back . Then told them this same story and went on my way. I found them on angies list and decided to tell the story becaused I'm still p***** off about the whole situation and decided to warn anyone considering this company. Take this with a grain of salt but I would not use them. They came in did the job line cleaned price was high consider yourself warned ion

We had our sprinkler system break at the connection to the main water supply to our house. Water was spraying out all over and the only way to stop the leak was to turn the water off to our house. We called Mr Rooter on Sunday and they responded within two hours and were able to stop the leak point and turn the water back on to our house. We were very pleased with their response time and the fact that it wasn't a huge bill even though it was a weekend job. They also called a couple of days later to make sure everything was okay. I would use them again if I had a plumbing need.

Had an outside faucet that dripped and ran my water bill way up. The builders of my 25 year old home had sealed the interior of the faucet in a wall and the easiest way to repair it would have been to cut a hole in my custom painted living room wall or the outside aluminum siding to gain access to the area needing replacement. The 25 yr old plumbing parts were not readily identifiable. My technician figured out a way to dismantle part of the faucet, took the part for identification, found a possible replacement part by searching on the internet and brought it back to my house. Sure enough! It fit fine and he did the repair without having to destroy my custom painted interior wall. As he was leaving, he also helped me determine that a fountain outside my front door (which wasn't working either) was merely a clogged pump and not broken as I had thought. Now that is working too.He went above and beyond what many others would have done to protect my living room wall and to fix that pesky fountain so it works. I'm very grateful and will call and recommend these folks again and again and pay whatever they are asking without a second thought. These are good guys in the white hats!

Called answering service, plumber there in one hr, cleaned the sewer , replaced toilet .cleaned up sewage in bathroom shower and floor, took 3 hrs.

The best part was they came out on a holiday because I had an emergency. They didn't charge me extra. I don't know what other people would have charged.

I had a good individual from Mr. Rooter. I happen to have a guy there that I do have respect for and I use, but I find them extremely expensive.

We got them from Angie's List. They came out on an emergency which was a Saturday. It was a very quick response. Their price was reasonable and in fact he did some extra work without charging. He did an inspection without charging us and he told us that we need service but not in the immediate future. He looked at some items that would need servicing. He recommended that we won't do it until more problems occurred. He didn't try to up sell. Basically the price was good.

I was recommended Mr. Rooter by a friend. I called Mr. Rooter and I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the woman who answered the phone. She arranged for a plumber to come to the house that day and kept me updated as to what time to expect him. I was impressed by the professionalism of the woman who booked the plumber and the plumber (Brad). He showed up on time, completed his work, gave me some advice about how to keep the pipes clean and left me a large bottle of enzyme for maintenance.

I called 2 plumbers...MP Plumbing wanted $270 to replace a bathroom faucet ($80 faucet and the rest labor) the rest was labor. It just sounded too expensive. I then called Mr Rooter. I was told there was a $69 service charge and they did not charge by the hour...they had a price depending on what was done. If I accepted the work the service charge would be waived. It appeared to be a great deal...I soo wrong!! The lowest price and quot;dealand quot; was $415 to replace a bathroom faucet....I did have a $20 off coupon but I felt helpless, if I refused the work I would have to pay the service fee. NOTE: Let me state that the plumber was very nice and professional. He did an excellent job!! He replaced the hot water on/off valve under the sink for no charge. My complaint is NOT against the plumber or his work, it was the skyhigh price charged for such simple work. I STRONGLY suggest you get a price upfront and that Mr Rooter better start giving estimates BEFORE they arrive so customer do not get stuck with a $69 service fee.

The idea was that a plumber might have a procedure, or system of checks, they could use to narrow down a general location of a water leak. In other words, I was at least expecting the tech to come in and begin by going through some troubleshooting methods, ie., checking the water meter, checking fixtures in the house, checking any external water like sprinklers/irrigation. NOPE. The guy came in and spent 20 minutes trying to identify which was my main water line into the house, informed me that my leak was somewhere in my front yard between the meter and my house, wrote me an estimate, collected his check and left! 69.95 down the drain, excuse my pun. Also, the quote he gave was twice as much as an estimate I had gotten 2 months ago for the same work. In my defense, there was no leak at the time of said quote and I was getting the estimate done as part of the homebuying process and on the recommendation of a home inspector. I was expecting a plumber to know more about the situation than I did. That is why you pay someone to come out and check. I suppose I did not get that feeling because there were no questions asked on his part and I kept having to bring up possible sources of the leak. The guy did a walk-thru of my property and a visual inspection. That's it. Not worth 69.95. By the way, if you set up an 'appointment' with this company its like waiting on the cable company: All they say is they'll be there after a certain time. Take my advice and don't leave work early - like I did - and rush to get home because they're just trying to hit a 2-hour window and you're gonna end up waiting on them anyway. So, given my experience from top to bottom, I was dissatisfied with the timeliness of service, the lack of hands-on service, and the affordability of their estimate. All in all, I cannot recommend this company.

The whole house backed up with water after doing a load of laundry on Saturday night. Sunday called Mr Rooter service.

He was punctual, was here when he said he would be and did the work to my satisfaction.

They came promptly and on time. Cleaned up after themselves. Very courteous as well as informative.

They were very good and very professional. They knew what they were doing. They were really responsive. They came out sooner than they said they would.

An upstairs bathroom drain was discovered clogged late at night and I was unable to clear the problem. Unfortunately an elderly resident with memory issues left the water running in the sink and the house was flooded on all 3 floors by 4:00 AM. I worked to clean up the mess and the Shawn, the plumber, came first thing in the morning. He cleared the problem which was in the wall past the trap, replaced the trap parts as their threads were breaking, and tried to make the sink more secure to prevent accidents in the future. He did a great job (we have used him before). Mr. Rooter has fixed prices for all work (not hourly) so the prices can seem quite reasonable or can seem high depending on what needs to be done. Shawn always tries to ensure that I get a fair deal.

I called them to have them replace the line in my bath. They came out and the guy looked at it for what seemed like two minutes. He then wrote me a bill for $388.00. I decided not to go with this company because of the high price. He then gave me a service bill of $69.95. He didn't touch anything, didn't bring any tools in. He looked in a whole that I already cut and he then charge me for showing up. He was only here for about five minutes. I had another company do the work for $163.00.

Jim came out sooner than anticipated, stopped the leak, replaced and fixed damaged parts , all while explaining the problems and changes. He was very professional, worked quickly, and cleaned up after the work was completed. I will definitely use them again, when needed!

The price was a little high. Overall, my experience was ok. The technician was very nice.

I think I've already said all there is to say, except to say again that it went very well. I am so happy that I know who to call if I ever have plumbing problems again.

They have always been prompt and efficient, and easy to deal with.

The owner was very easy to deal with and they did a really good job. They took care of everything relating to their service, including the final installation of fixtures. I have already used them again when I had an emergency on a weekend.

They sent someone out and estimated the cost at $424.38. I told him I thought the problem may be outside of the house. They asked if the estimate was alright. I was not there and I needed it fixed so I agreed and they proceeded with the project. I told the technician to let me know if something else came up by calling me back. He worked for two hours and billed my tenant for the agreed price. He simply snaked the sink and bathtub and pulled out a baby wipe and stated everything was fixed. I got the bill and thought the price was then high for only two hours of work. I called the company when I was billed and let them know it seemed too high. I was told that Steve, the manager, would call which he did. I explained that this was a pretty simple job and he told me that I also got a 60 day guarantee and that this is how they charge. I told him I thought he ought to adjust the price and if he did not I would not return as a customer. They did not adjust the price and stated they charge by the job. What bothers me is that if you're not there they can make up any number regardless of how long the project takes. $210 an hour is a very good wage.

They kept calling me to update the time that they would be there, which was nice instead of waiting with a 6 hour window. The person doing the work was very kind and professional. The one reason I would shop around before calling them again was the price. The work took less than 30 minutes and required very little equipment. I was given a quote before the work began and had no idea that it would take so little time. On top of that, I had to pay a $19.00 "energy surcharge". There were no parts included in the price, so I paid $250 for 30 minutes of labor. I have hired a lot of contractors lately to do various things and this by far is the most inflated prices by anyone.
