A AFFORDABLE SEPTIC SERVICE LLC

Neil called when he was leaving his last job to let us know he was on his way. He arrived a half hour earlier than scheduled, which was fine with us. He was very professional with his services. He pumped the tank and made sure it was clean. He went down in the tank to clean the pipe from the tank to the distribution box which was plugged. He also was able to open the clean out plug from the house to the septic tank and cleared the clog from there. Then he was able to give us a very good idea as to where the distribution box should be. He was right on.

I called earlier this week to arrange to have my septic tank pumped. The appointment was set for 8 am this morning. I called at 7:50 to confirm that the person who was going to pump was really on his way. I had read in previous reviews that communication, scheduling and punctuality are not the strong suits of this company. I was assured the worker was on his way. At 8:15 - still no one arrived, I called again and was assured he would arrive soon. I asked the receptionist to please to call him to confirm. The receptionist said he was stuck in traffic and would be there in 15 minutes. Marty arrived at 8:30 and promptly went to work. He was not stuck in traffic, afterall - he was sent to another address. Marty was careful to minimize disturbance to our yard. He called me when he was done to report that everything went well, no problems to report. I was very happy with Marty and his service. This company still does not have scheduling down. I would not use again unless I didn't have any place to be at the time of appointment. Marty gets 5 stars - the professionalism grade is for him, his demeanor, his service and responsiveness. The organization behind him gets 2+ stars. If I hadn't called twice, I would still be waiting for Marty to arrive.

Marty was very pleasant and efficient at his tasks. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again in a few years when we need to have the tank pumped again.

We had an emergency situation with a septic tank over flowing. A Affordable worked us into their schedule on the same day that I called. We live at 1100 feet elevation and it was snowing, but they arrived as promised. They diagnosed the problem and completed a preliminary fix. The tank is now working. A permanent fix will require more work and we will have A Affordable do the work.

Technician was friendly and helpful, explained underlying problem with my leach line and pumped tank. Cleared leach line for now but will need further repair in the future as line has sunk slightly and roots have intruded.

We scheduled a Septic tank inspection at 8:00 AM Thursday November 21, 2013. nobody came. When I called the office, I was told that the appointment was changed to 3:00 PM. then they changed appointment to 1:00 PM again. After the tank was inspected, I was told that the tank was leaking and the tank needs to be replaced, I was told that the office could provide an estimate on repair cost in one or two day. The next day, I called the office, requested an repair estimate cost, I was told it could be done in 1 or 2 days. I told her that we were purchasing the house and need an estimation to make decision, my real estate agent also called them. After that, we called them several times, unfortunately, until today, 12/8/2013, more than two weeks after the inspection, I still have not received an estimate repair cost from this company.

Although this company did an excellent job of pumping my septic tank in a hurry, I have been waiting for months for this provider to provide a written cost. Although I have left several messages, and their staff indicated they will get back to me, they never did. I left a message asking specifically for their president/CEO to contact me personally and explain how my request slipped through the cracks, and still haven't heard from them. I am giving up and going with their competition.

The service man arrived on time and was very knowledgeable about how to find the tank. We had recently purchased the home and had no idea exactly where the tank was. He located the tank, pumped and inspected it. He showed me some areas to watch and gave tips on living with a septic system rather than the city sewer water we were accustomed to.

Three phone calls which were taken by Jolene resulted in the assurance that we were on the list and our questions would be answered by one of the repair team. No calls were returned, tried email still no response. After a month with tank uncovered and distribution box open, we found another company to complete the needed repairs Marty was hard working and professional but the follow up by such a highly rated company was unacceptable and future customers should be warned

Jim came out within a couple of hours of our call. We called because the tank alarm had gone off. We have a pump system, which means that the drain field is uphill of the tank. The tank alarm goes off when the tank is not draining. We had never encountered this before, so we called "A Affordable" based on the reviews here. Jim came out in a timely manner, as I mentioned, and he explained how the system works, and spent some time helping me debug what was wrong with the system. Turns out we had several problems: 1) Solids tank was full 2) Liquids tank pump was not working Ours is an older home and although the liquids tank had an access point, the solids point did NOT! (What's with that?) Jim helped me dig up the access hatch for the solids tank (I used my tractor back hoe, which saved us a couple of hours). After we cleared the access tank hatch, Jim got to work. It took him hours to pump out the solids tank (it was quite full), and he had to use various tricks to free the debris and get it all cleared up nicely. It was clear that Jim was an expert and knew what he was doing. He is also incredibly hard working. When he finished, I thought that the job was extremely well-done, and that both Jim and the company were absolutely top-notch in my book! We were extremely pleased with his work.

I wrote a previous review where I gave VERY high marks to this company, and they deserved great marks. Jim is a great professional. As a follow-up to the clean out of the septic system, it was clear that our pump needed repairs. I called and the friendly dispatcher/manager, Jolene, told me that yes, they could fix or repair the pump and that one of her team (Rick) would call me. I waited a few days. I followed up with no fewer than three phone calls on three separate days. Each time Jolene answered, and just said that Rick was super busy but that he would return my call. I was polite, and told her that I simply needed an answer whether they could do the work, and to get some kind of estimate. She assured me that Rick would respond, no problem. Well, Rick NEVER responded, never called, nothing. I got tired of waiting for a response (and if the pump was not repaired, then we would have a backup!) so I just gave up on them. Although I was happy with the pumping job they did on a previous order, I was shocked at the very bad response unprofessional response in this case. I called three times. I left a message with Jolene each time. I was polite and didn't hassle them. I was a previous customer. In return, not even a return phone call to say ANYTHING! I had to find someone else to do the repairs. As a result, although I was impressed by Jim and his initial service, I am totally put off by Rick and his non-response, and I will NOT use them again and am writing this bad review as a warning to others.

They sent out a guy (Jim) the same day (within about an hour, and we had called mid-afternoon). Jim was excellent, and explained carefully how our system worked, what was failing, and how he fixed it. By the end of the day, our septic tank was pumped clean, the reason for the fluid leaking into our lawn was diagnosed, and a temporary solution was in place.

Good. Completed within a couple of hours. Had some suggestions of what could be done to improve the system. Had quote back within good time for consideration.

When I called to schedule the service, I felt I got a lecture I did not deserve. I knew our septic system was in good shape and told him so, but he essentially told me I was mistaken, given the amount of time since the last pumping. Clearly, people who pump septic tanks think septic tanks should be pumped, even if you understand the principles on which they operate and support those principles. When he arrived (late), I got another lecture, until he stuck his pipe into the tank to pump it. He had told me it would likely take hours and the actual pumping (as opposed to the time he spent looking around and writing out forms) took maybe 40 minutes or so. We had dug out the distribution line junction boxes, because he had told me up front that he would likely need to "jet out" the lines. There was no need - they were clean. I felt the man knew his job and did what he did appropriately, but it was not professional to tell me what an ordeal this was going to be until he found out what he was facing.

Very through job. I thought he had finished and he was not satisfied and decided to also inspect and clean the lines under the house. He also explained why it was important to have the lines cleaned when the tank was pumped which was not done with the first company we hired to clean our septic tank. They did not even mention that the lines should be cleaned and when the tank failed within two weeks, A Affordable came out right away and diagnosed the problem and did a great job.

It all went fine. We were advised how to better make use of it for future use. Very personable and professional. We were called 2 hours before expected time and were advised of a later time schedule because prior stops took longer than anticipated. This all worked out great and he was there within the revised time slot. I would call this company again if service is needed.

So far so good. I appreciated the extra steps. Very reasonable pricing.

He checked it and said I didn't have to have this done. I think the person I used in the past may have been cheating me, he was cleaning it every year. He did a complete check and sent information to the county to let them know it didn't need to be cleaned. They were excellent.

I sent an e-mail the evening of Feb 17th and the next day an appointment was set for the same day of Feb 18th @ 11am. Their office called to ask for permission to come a 1/2 earlier than the appointment (what a pleasant surprise). The technician, Jim, was professional, courtious and performed the service promptly. Jim also kept us informed during the process which helped us to understand what was necessary in the future to keep from experiencing a problem again. We greatly appreciate A-Affordable Septic Service immediate response and resolving this issue.

Our septic system suddenly backed up into the house early one morning. A call to A-Affordable Septic Service was made based on Angie's list reviews and a one hour window was obtained for a service appointment that same morning. The office staff was upfront and clearly stated that a $110 hourly charge would apply to locate and excavate the septic system, to which I agreed. This was in line with what competing service companies were quoting. The tech (Marty) arrived 30 minutes into the estimated 1 hour service window. He was very professional and quickly assessed the situation. The septic tank access cover had not been excavated prior to his arrival so he located the tank and hand dug the hole. He was careful to remove the sod separately and neatly pile the dirt. Our soil is infamous for random rocks from fist sized to boulders. He was again careful to pile them separately so they would not be used in the back-fill and impede future excavations. Unfortunately our tank orientation and an inferior, home made riser installed by the previous owner required Marty to spend several hours to gain full access to the septic tank. After nearly 7 hours of work that continued into the dark evening, Marty persevered until he had pumped and cleaned the tank, found and removed the blockage and then confirmed free flow from the septic clean-out access point near the house to the septic tank inlet. The work site was cleaned up plus made safe and secure in preparation for a second crew to come the next day and install a properly sized riser. Marty said he would not leave until our septic system was functioning properly and he delivered. The cost for the amount of work provided by Marty was extremely fair and I unreservedly recommend his services. A two man crew arrived in a clearly marked company vehicle the following day as expected to install the new riser. Robbie patiently answered my many questions about the installation and possible options. The installation went as explained and was completed in a little over an hour. The crew groomed the site until I was completely satisfied with the appearance. They were definitely aiming to please. Again, A-Affordable provided excellent service. The total cost for both services was very reasonable, especially when considering the amount of services provided and the quality of work.

The project went very smoothly, and was completed in a timely fashion. We were very pleased with the job that Affordable Septic Service performed.

Technician did a great job, and was very informative about septic system maintenance. This was our first time to have this service performed, and he was very professional and explained how often we should have it done and how to properly use and maintain the system. I will gladly pay for their services again in the future. The technician advised me that I did not need service for another five years, which impressed me for his honest assessment. I highly recommend this service provider.
