They did it on time. The owner is very kind, professional, and extremely good. His quality of work is excellent. Customer service is very important to them.
Description of Work: They removed the carpet, pressure washed it, coated the floor of the Yukon with a non mold barrier, provided a new pad under the carpet, and replaced the carpeting. The objective was to remove the mold out of the vehicle.

I brought in my Classic 1972 Ford LTD Convertible to have the front and rear seats recovered. They did a nice job except for the fact they changed the fabric pattern on the head rest without asking me. Overall the job was good and I will go back to have my top redone in the future.

Description of Work: The provider gave me an estimate on damage done to my vehicle by another company. The provider then communicated to the other company that there was "no way" they could of done the damage to my car. The problem is, the other company did do the damage to my car and now I get to pay for it. It was inappropriate for the provider to make statements regarding an incident that they did not witness and try to make a judgement after the fact.

I am deeply disappointed by Beaverton Auto Upholstery's utter lack of customer service and refusal to stand behind their written 90 labor guarantee. I chose the shop with high expectations. On May 23 when the estimate was done, Steve Mackley impressed me with his apparent knowledge and expertise. Unfortunately, the reality has fallen far short of those expectations. Without even a pretense of genuine concern when confronted with the fact of shoddy installation of a cloth convertible top, he essentially told us that his work was done, that he didn't wish to deal with the problem and to go away. I therefore cannot in good conscience recommend Beaverton Auto Upholstery to others. The car was delivered to Beaverton Auto Upholstery by 1 PM on Thursday, June 7. The work was completed and the car was ready for pick-up by 4 PM on Friday, June 8. Although the shop is normally open until 5 PM, it was obvious that everyone was anxious to leave for the day when I arrived at a few minutes past four. Rather serendipitously, just before paying, I opened the trunk to stow a bag and noticed that all of the trunk liners including tail lights, indicator lights and brake lights were removed and simply lying in the trunk. After a nervous apology, an employee put everything back in place. Had I not accidentally noticed the problem, my wife and I would have been put into severe jeopardy as I drove home in driving rain through rush hour traffic without any rear lights. This egregious lack of care should have alerted me to the fact that the work on my car had obviously been rushed and that other errors likely awaited. Rain was beginning to patter down, so I lowered and raised the top quickly; it appeared to operate correctly. My wife paid the balance of the bill as the garage door rolled down and employees headed for the doors with their jackets. We drove away. About a half hour into our drive while changing lanes in pelting rain and heavy traffic, I turned to my right to check my blind spot. I noticed the right rear window was slightly ajar; there was a gap of an inch or so between it and the front window. I ran the window down and up again. The gap persisted. Subsequent attempts produced the same result. It was 5:05 PM. I knew no one would be at Beaverton Auto Upholstery and, in any event, it would have taken at least an hour to get out of traffic and back to the shop. At home, I discovered that with the top down, the window worked perfectly. Clearly something about the new roof was jamming it. Unable to identify the problem myself, I called Beaverton Auto Upholstery on Monday morning, June 11 and spoke with Steve Mackley. I described the problem and asked if he could fix it that afternoon. He said he could. When I asked if he thought I would have to leave the car (so I could arrange a ride home), he said he thought it could be repaired in just a few minutes. Back at Beaverton Auto Upholstery Monday afternoon (a 90 minute drive from my home), two employees ran the window up and down a few times, inspected the groove into which the window should slide, ran the left side window up and down and, after this cursory five minute inspection proclaimed that they had no idea what was wrong. At this point, Steve Mackley appeared on the scene. He declared that the roof looked great, that it was obviously installed properly and that any problems were not a result of work performed by Beaverton Auto Upholstery. I suggested that the facts simply did not support that view: the window had worked properly the day the car was delivered to his shop, it still works properly with the roof down, so beyond any doubt the problem arose with the new roof installation. I regret to say that at times Steve attempted to deflect the conversation away from his shop's craftsmanship by essentially accusing me of lying, stating that he did not know if the window had worked with the old roof. Such a statement was patently false since we had put the old roof up and down during his inspection of it on May 23 when he provided me with a written estimate for the work. Further, the roof and window were up when he and his workmen took the car into the shop on June 7, and had there been a problem, he undoubtedly would have protected himself by informing me of the pre-existing condition. He never made any mention of a problem because there wasn't one. More importantly, he and his staff had to have known of the window's malfunction with the new roof when we picked up the car on June 8, but they remained silent, never informing us of the fact. Ultimately, Steve admitted the new roof was the problem by saying that it was and quot;like a new pair of jeans that are too tight when new but loosen up over time.and quot; He suggested we just go away and put up with the roar of a window gap despite rain and washings until it healed itself. Besides, he reckoned, the fault lay not with the roof, but with the window's electric motor. He recommended that we have it replaced at a BMW repair shop. We followed his advice and took the car to a BMW shop that determined the motor was not at fault. The rivets used inside the window channel were too large, impeding the window's movement. We had the rivets replaced with appropriate BMW ones, resolving the problem. Ultimately, Beaverton Auto Upholstery reimbursed us for the cost of the repair. To add insult to injury, the upholstery job on the driver's seat began to p***** after just four days.
Description of Work: Beaverton Auto Upholstery removed the old canvas top of my BMW convertible, replaced it with a new top and installed new elastic tension straps and new rear fold compartment lid gas springs. They also reupholstered the driver's seat cushion bolster and the backrest bolster in black leather.

Response from Beaverton Auto Upholstery Inc
This whole situation turned out to be a tragic event. It certainly all could have be handled with more finess on both sides. We always do all we can to fix any problem that we could have possibly caused, but felt the likely cause to their problem was a weak electric motor that only manifested itself with the added tension of a new top being installed. It turned out we were wrong and we did make an error in the selection of rivet size during installation process. After working on hundreds of BMW tops and this problem with a window never happening before it didn't occur to us that what could be the culprit. We all live and learn a little every day. Unfortunately, although our objective is satisfy each and every customer...we do occasionally fail, but try to remedy the failure whenever and however possible. We average more than 150 customers monthly and we are proud that more than 99% leave satisfied. It is regretable that the Member's fell in that 1% and we will learn from our mistake. The Members were reimbursed for the expense they incurred corrected at the other shop.

My BMW is 14 years old, and for the past several months the fabric roof liner in the car had started to come unglued and fall down. I brought my car to Beaverton Auto Upholstery to see what could be done. From the start Steve was very knowledgeable and professional. He had a fabric which matched my interior roof and back area perfectly, and his worker did an excellent job in recovering the areas. My car looks and feels new again. I highly recommend this company.

They did a fast, good job in one day. Installation is tight and looks factory (but is custom). They went the extra nine yards by setting a grommet in the floor matt I supplied for the driver's side.
