I am on the annual so I pay by the month. I have a wonderful time with Banfield. Their pricing is fair considering what all the cover. They are wonderful with the kitties. They're good when I need to get her in there in a hurry. They are quick. They are very nice with her. She is very happy with them even though she hates getting in the crate and then they put her in a crate before I have to take her home. That is the best part.

Veterinarian work it seems like I've always had to take them to the emergency vet because whatever happens always happens over a holiday weekend. For quite a while they were being seen by Banfield. Unfortunately I had four Siamese cats and they all happened to be 17 and they all passed away in the same period of time, within six months of each other. It was terrible. If pets are ill and they are likely to die, I like to do home euthanasia rather than take them into the vet and make it more traumatic for them. I don't have any cats now; I just have two little dogs. I trim their own nails and they're short haired, so they don't need trimmed. I take them about the same each year unless they're ill for some reason. They were originally my daughter's dogs. She had to move when she graduated from college and I inherited the dogs. We used to split the cost; they had an annual charge where certain costs and check-ups and vaccinations were discounted. Their fee was reasonable, but not fabulous. To be better, they could have had more professional people working there, their technicians and everything. I called and complained because one of their techs was a man and he had a very loud, deep voice and he didn't moderate that at all, and whenever he came in and started talking and the minute he came in and started talking, whatever animal I had with me got more scared. He had a nice voice but it wasn't a good voice for dealing with animals that are already frightened by being at the vet. I've had pets my whole life and I've seen a variety of veterinarians. Overall, I just think they had very high quality - even their veterinarians I would say were marginal. One of my cats developed an asthma-like problem and they couldn't really tell me what had caused it. My cat was Siamese and they said well these types of cats often get this. Well I've had Siamese cats my entire life and never had one with asthma - it didn't even seem like asthma to me, not human asthma anyway. So I just could have dealt with it myself. We had another dog who has since passed away, who always ended up at the emergency vet. She had pancreatitis and you name it. It was our fault, we gave her steak bones. It was 4 th of July weekend and we were grilling, and it was too rich for her. They're good and they're nice and they're open all the time, and if you're active duty they give you a discount, military. It's only active duty that they give a discount to, so that was sort of disappointing. I've certainly used better veterinarians. I would look on the Angie's List site for better choices; they were just convenient.

We have an annual plan where we pay so much a month, like $20 a month or something. We enjoy them a lot. I would recommend them to anyone. They're conveniently placed next to another provider so it's nice. They're really good about reminding us when appointments are coming up with either phone calls or mailers.

Everything ok, but ginormous bruise on neck/chest from jugular blood draw - quite concerning. The service overall here is ok, and I've been somewhat skeptical of a "mall vet", but they do care for the animals they see, and are well trained and professional.

Our pets have had Banfield services since they were 6 months old--a
large cat and a small dog. Through a broken leg, urinary problems and
surgeries, fleas, dental work, hernia repair, and other routine
services, Banfield has been there to support our pets. They are always
willing to discuss financing options, necessary versus nice-to-do
procedures, referrals and what we can do at home to help our pets.

They were extremely over priced and they did not seem to care about my cat.

I called around a few veterinary hospitals and found out most hospitals charge ~$800-1200 for a teeth cleaning for a very small dog. With our chihuahua weighing only 2.5 pounds, she needed special attention during the procedure with general anesthesia to monitor her heart rate and body temperature from dropping. I asked a local pet supply store and a community vet service person and were told by both people to go to Banfield. I had never heard of Banfield. After a bit of research and seeing lots of positive reviews online, I decided to try it out. I took my dog in for a physical check-up and mentioned that she might need her teeth cleaned. The vet said he wanted to keep her for the day to monitor her to see how she handles her vaccinations and to do some blood work before the teeth cleaning. At the end of the day after a positive review from the vet, I scheduled her teeth cleaning for a few weeks later. The teeth cleaning went very smoothly. The vet removed one of my dog's shaky teeth during the procedure and didn't charge me for it. She said she needed to wiggle it very gently and didn't really pull the tooth. After the cleaning, we were advised to give the dog a special food to reduce tartar build-up. We are very happy with the result and will definitely take her back for her annual teeth cleaning if needed. (Unfortunately little dogs need more frequent teeth cleaning because of faster tartar build-up due to their small mouths.)

It went well and I would go back there again. Banfield has drop-in clinic hours in the mid-afternoon, and I appreciate that you don't have to have an appointment. However, this arrangement can mean that you will wait awhile to see a vet in the event that an animal with a critical issue comes in. Nevertheless, I haven't ever had to wait very long and their vets seemed quite competent.
