Description of Work: In 2008 had Always Air replace main HVAC with new high efficiency units - both heating and AC. Always Air recommended Rudd and installed unit. Unit had high pitch whine at all fan speeds, both AC and Heating mode. They were never able to resolve the issue and we moved from the house in Summer 2008 for temporary overseas assignment. Moved back in Mar 2013 and contacted them in Apr 2013, when the warranty was about to expire to ask what they were going to do and no response to date.

Description of Work: Don't use these people. My heat pump went out in spring of 2011. It was on its 9th year of a 10-year warranty. They came out, replaced the heat pump, charged me around $900.00 for installation and another part they said we needed. It ran for less than a month. I called again. This time they are not going to charge me labor to put the replacement system in since the last one didn't run for more than 30 days. But I'm going to need another part - so after waiting in the 100+ degree heat for a couple of weeks on this part, they finally came on a Saturday to install the parts after waiting and waiting and waiting. It ran for less than 12 hours. This time I was able to stop payment on the check. At this time we have been living with no a/c for a while. It's August 2012 (over one year later) and we still have had NO central air conditioning or heat in our home. Without the unit we can't even run our heat in the Winter. We have had to buy 3 window a/c units for our house (which only cool one room) and heaters for our house. Again, this summer it's been awful living in that house in the 100+ heat. Last October they brought up a new problem. They informed someone who called on our behalf that our lines were contaminated and would have to be replaced. Really? They didn't know that back in the April-May timeframe? They are the only ones who have touched the unit and they did the soldering on the unit. They have offered to come out and replace all of my heating/cooling units for quite a bit more money - they have also offered to just replace the heat pump parts, but wanted us to sign a release not holding them responsible for any of the work they do. Of course my husband denied that one. I have even talked to the TRANE distributors 3 or 4 times, but they don't seem to care either. I've emailed people, I've sent letters, and I've called. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AS YOU CAN.

Description of Work: My air-conditioner is an older heat=pump and it would not shut off. I called the office and the service manager called me back. He stated he would be here at 4:00 pm and he was very prompt. He checked out the system and found that my contacts had melted together. All prices were given up front before any repairs were done. He was knowledgeable and fast. I f I have another problem I will use them again.

+ -1 moreI called Always Heating and Air on the weekend my central air conditioning gave out. I spoke with Dennis, who seemed polite and willing to help. He told me he would call Monday afternoon to confirm an appointment we set for Wednesday afternoon. I gave him three contact numbers and made sure to let him know I would be home after two during the week. On Monday he failed to call. After calling their office I reached someone who was all but impossible to understand because of their mumbling. I gave this person my three contact numbers and reconfirmed that they would be out after two on Wednesday. On Wednesday once again there was no call. After waiting for several hours after I arrived home at two pm, I once again reached Dennis. He stated that they had not come out because "they could not reach me." It turns both he, and his coworker the Monday following, had only written down my work number, had called there and decided to cross me off the list after they got no answer there. This after it was clearly stated in TWO separate conversations that I would be home on Wednesday awaiting their arrival AND leaving TWO alternate numbers. Don't let these people and their uncaring attitude waste your time.
Description of Work: None, Always Air lost my information, did not show up and wasted my time.

Description of Work: Totally professional. arrived on time and did the minor repair that another service diagnosed at over $1,000 for the cost of one service call, less than $100. the repair has been fine for over a month now. Honesty is a hallmark of this service.

+ -1 moreHe was honest with me and saved me a lot of money. He actually trains other technicians. I would recommend him highly to anyone. If you want a top level technician, someone who is honest and reliable, hire David Doss.
Description of Work: Two other air conditioner guys had told me my compressor was bad and tried to sell me a new unit. He came in, performed a diagnostics test and let me know nothing was wrong with it. He fixed what was wrong, but was honest and told me I didn’t need to replace my compressor and that it was pulling the amperage which communicated to him that there was nothing wrong with the compressor. He even topped off my Freon.

+ -1 moreI called my home warranty company and they referred a different company. I checked the list and the company had a very bad rating. I called the home warranty company back and they gave me a list of companies that I could use. I selected Always Air after checking them on Angie's List and the BBB. They called within 2 hours of the job being assigned, they came promptly the next day. The repair man was friendly and helpful. He diagnosed the problem as the thermostat and replaced the old one with a new digital thermostat. He also performed a visual check on my furnace and gave me advise on how to keep it running well. He was clean and cleaned up after the job. The furnace and thermostat have been working just fine. I would call them again and will definitely request them if I have to use my home warranty for heating or air. I d not know the actual price for the job as I paid them my $45 deductible and the warranty company paid the rest.
Description of Work: My heater was not cycling on and they diagnosed the problem and replaced the thermostat.

+ -1 moreThey did an incomplete job. They failed to detect a leak. They claim on website that they have 24 hour service and we had to wait 14 hours just to get a phone call on two different occasions. They are overprice and we would not recommend them under any circumstances.
