Metric Motors

I called Metric Motors on Monday with an issue on my truck. They suggested I drive it and told me what to watch for to help diagnose the issue. I drove it that evening and confirmed the problem. I called the next day and they were able to squeeze me in that day!Mechanic drove vehicle and confirmed what I thought the issue was (based on the guidance received on the telephone the day before). Truck was repaired quickly and was cheaper than initially quoted! Truck drives great and is back on the road!I've used Metric Motors for all of our cars for the last eight years and they are consistently quick to diagnose and fix the problems at a reasonable rate!

After reading the reviews on Angie's list, I narrowed my search to two different service providers. All of my previous service had been done at the Honda dealership where we purchased the vehicle. After speaking with both, I decided on Metric Motors because of their professionalism over the phone. We made an appointment and dropped off the car the day before. I was phoned about the additional necessary repairs and given approximate costs. I did a little research to determine that their price was not only competitive, but better than most to repair the control arms. The car was ready at the time promised and Metric honored the 10% discount on all parts and labor as well. I would use this company again.

Bryan is fantastic. Super patient and worked with us and our extended warranty company. Will be bring all of our cars in from now on. Great service.

As always, they listened to what services I was requesting, were prompt to report what they found, made suggestions on what should be done, including cost, let me make the decision, then completed repairs sooner than expected.

Overall it when very well. I would use them again.

They were very friendly and honest with me. I felt they knew my car well and were experts in their field. If I hadn't questioned the first shop I would have spent more money and still had the original problem. It's just so nice to find people you can trust.

Bryan Sparkman knows this customer all too well because they have worked on my 1994 Toyota Tercel since I moved to Oklahoma in 2001. I didn't know who or where to take my car and I don't remember how I found out about Metric Motors but we have had a wonderful relationship. Bryan has not hesitated to be honest with me and share what was wrong with my car and what my options were. There were times I wanted a cheaper route but it wouldn't pay off. After getting my motor and transmission replaced not at the same time, not to mention some other replacements, 2011 is the year that my mechanic advisor Bryan has warned me that I need to consider getting a new car. Well, that was not in my budget. What Bryan should have done with this customer was get a whip out and lead me to the nearest car dealer, CraigList or something. I had no other choice but to give up my Tercel. It wasn't easy but I did it. Bryan took the time and gave his expertise on the vehicle that I chose to purchase. Thanks Metric Motors!

Great. This is an honest company that does good work and has earned and kept my business.

Really personable, treated fairly without being ripped off. They did the job and took very good care of my BMW530i. I would recommend metric.

They were okay. There were some specific things about their work that were good.

They were very service oriented. They were very nice when we went in. They immediately went and gave us an estimate. They didn't make us wait and wait and wait. The guy that was in the office called the manger and the manager gave us an estimate. He wrote it down and gave it to us, but I don't remember what it was. It was a good price though. Overall, they were excellent. Their responsiveness and punctuality was good. Their professionalism was excellent.

Prior to taking the Honda to any repair shop I telephoned 4 repair shops in the Edmond area. I asked each shop in a worst case scenario the range of the cost if the entire air conditioning system had to the replaced. I obtained two quotes that were with in range of one another and other two being far fetched, one seemingly to be a low-ball figure and the other stating in absolute terms, lies! For example, the only shop in Edmond with ASE mechanics. Apparently, every vehicle in our part of the country was having an air conditioning issue during the week of June 5; thus, the unavailability of parts and backlog of repairs at Metric Motors. I don't mind waiting for quality and honest service. Since parts would have to be ordered with a 50/50 probability of parts being delivered on Monday and there was a backlog so we returned Tuesday, June 6 at 07:30. The Honda's repairs were completed as promised and the final cost was exactly as quoted. The staff was very hospitable, friendly and honest! Except donuts and hot coffee, hot chocolate would have been a treat; however, machines were available. The waiting area was very clean, comfortable, quite and equipped with a TV and Wi-Fi access. The entry counter was clean and well-organized. Another interesting feature was that the entrance area (waiting area) was not adored with advertising banners and blaring music; as a matter of fact, no music at all, very nice for a change! The rest rooms were very clean! Parking in front of the building is a bit cramped; will likely have to build a parking garage on top of the present building to accommodate future business. For future repairs we will be back, thank you!

Called Metric, told them my situation with my car and what the dealer had told me. Took the car to them for an inspection and estimate. I was told that the headbolts were stripped but that the threads could be fixed. With an estimate of $2100.00, I authorized the work. Brian called me several times to let me know how it was going. I picked my car up a little more than a week later. The car is fixed just like they said it would be. I paid a little more than the estimate but they replaced an air filter and some spark plugs while doing the big job that were not on the original estimate. I got what I paid for.

Update June 1, 2011 - I did recieve a letter from Mike at Metric stating that he had changed personnel and he apologized for the situation. He did send me a $40 refund for the diagnostic. In his letter, he asked me to call him to try and resolve situation further. I have called him twice and left messages, but have not heard back from him. They called after completing oil change and wiper replacement. Told me the seat belt buckle sensor was broken and the buckle needed to be replaced at a cost of about $300. I then got on the Internet and searched seat belts for Hondas (car is an 02 Civic) and found that Honda has a lifetime replacement warranty on seatbelts. I called Metric and told them what I found out and technician said he knew that but that Honda wouldn't cover this. I told them not to do work and took my car to Honda dealer next day where I got it replaced for free. Technician at Metric knew about Honda policy but tried to get me to pay them $300 - very unprofessional. If they had just been honest at Metric and told me that Honda would repair it for free, they would have made a lifetime customer of me. Instead, I will never go there again.

When I set up the appointment I was told the work would take no more than an hour. I was the first appt of the day so I'm not sure why it took so long. The battery cost $114 and synthetic oil can cost $5 - $7/quart but I feel that the labor charges were unreasonable. I got an estimate on brake pads which came to $570 - ouch. Will look elsewhere for my '06 volvo s80

I have a 2003 Volvo that has had a issue for over a year. It will suddenly die for no reason. I've had it to three independent shops and the dealer and spent a total of $1824.90 on various "fixes" but it still happend. Many of my friends had been telling me to go to Metric Motors so I tried them as a last resort with low expectations. They were very friendly and professional and told me up front it may be difficult. After three days they said they had found a problem with the wiring to the computer and it hasn't had a problem since. They are the best!

Took my Saab into the shop to repair a leak from the cooling system and they claimed they fixed it. I paid the bill and as soon as I drove the car home it was still leaking. Called and let them know it was not fixed and they asked me to bring the car back. After they had the car for the day, they worked up another estimate to let me know it would be an additional 845.00. I asked for a copy of a written estimate and took it to the dealer in Edmond. They looked over the estimate and could not find the parts that Metric Motors was claiming to be putting on my car. Also I had asked Metric Motor if they could call my extended warranty company and see if the work was covered and of course they let me know they called but none of the work was covered. I understand if they are making up parts they would not be covered. The work that was done at the dealer was covered by my extended warranty and only ended up costing me 125.00 and the leak was repaired. Skip this business and just take the car to the dealer. UPDATE: AFTER THIS POST THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY CALLED AND DID TRY TO MAKE THIS COMPLAINT RIGHT. HE WAS CONCERNED AND LET US KNOW HE HAS CHANGED SEVERAL STAFF MEMEBERS THAT HE FELT WERE CAUSING THE PROBLEM.. I ALWAYS HAVE RESPECT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS THAT DO ACCEPT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT. FOR THIS REASON I DID CHANGE SEVERAL OF THE GRADES I GAVE.

Love these guys. Had taken my Honda van to a local tire place and a local dealer; both told me there was nothing wrong with the van. The local dealership tried to tell me it was just a tire out of balance, but I know it sounded much worse when driving it. (that was after they had the van literally all day without doing anything with it) Took it to Metro, explained what was going on, the mechanic drove it and within 5 minutes diagnosed a bad wheel hub assembly that both other places missed. Metric reapaired within just a few hours.

I told Metric I didn't want to spend a ton of money on this car, just wanted to get it through another 8-12 months until I could get my gf into a new one. What I got was an estimate for over $2000 (probably more than I could even sell the car for) for everything from a new timing belt (I'm pretty sure they tell everyone they need a new timing belt) to fuses. Anyway, I took the estimate and knocked off a couple of things I didn't think were necessary for the objectives I gave them, then had them go ahead and do $1500 worth of work (still way too much, in my opinion, but I didn't have much of a choice). They kept the car for five days, and I eventually had to call them and ask how it was coming -- a problem, especially since they told me they'd have it done in three, and would call me on day 2 and give me an update (not a huge problem or anything, and not enough to keep me from using them again, but when you say you're going to call, then call). They were friendly, not rude or anything like that, and I'd use them again, but I can't really give them an A on anything except for quality (what they did appears to be good work) b/c I think it was overpriced for what I told them I needed ("B" for price and for responsiveness), and then they didn't call when they said they would ("C" on punctuality). Otherwise, good looking establishment, very friendly, and I think if you established a relationship with them and were a repeat customer (I intend to do this), they'd probably get better about working with you on price and would be more responsive and punctual.

Car stopped running while I was driving and I had the car towed to Metric motors. They dx the problem and fixed it well before time promised. I thought this was going to be a $5k job and to my suprise it wasnt.

My husband was quite pleased with their work. They called my husband and explained what they had found, what they needed to do and what the cost would be. He gave them the go ahead to do it, and they had the car ready for him the next day. We didn't make an advance appointment. Their prices were in-line with other places that I had called.

I checked them out on the list. They had good stats. I called and they did the work. Great experience. I bet I get another 8 years on the car. I had the breaks done and an oil change as well. All estimates were spot on.
