Wow - I can't recommend this team (Vicky and Juan) enough. The first Lumber Liquidator's contractor did not meet our expectation and 1GR took over the job on day 2 of a 6 day project. Who does that? They were able to fit us right into the schedule to ensure our project was completed on time. Vicky was out within 2 hours of when we called her - would have been sooner had she not already had appointments. She was amazingly quick and so very knowledgeable. They sent out Juan (who could not be kinder or hard -working) and his team (who also were very kind to me and were so very hard-working). The team set up their equipment outside so as to keep my home dust-free. They were so very detail-oriented. My 15 year old son would watch them work and would explain to me the intricate steps they took with the install of every piece of wood. The guys were the best! I will certainly have them back in my home again for more projects. The finished project is amazing. We receive so many comments when people walk into the house. Beautiful job!

Showed up everyday, very professional and it took them 3 days to do.

1GR Builders has made the whole experience of remodeling a kitchen in a condo that I own in AZ extremely easy. We were able to order all the cabinets, accessories and countertops ahead of time. The 1GR Builders crew for the project flew to AZ and once on the location in a seamless way they teared down and disposed of the old kitchen to replace it it with the new one. Of course we experienced some little problems caused by the existing and hidden conditions of the old kitchen. Anyhow, by having clear the budget and the objectives of the project, the team crew always explained me in detail the issues and the array of solutions available to us. With a clear, creative and constructive approach the kitchen was completed. Again to remodel a house in a different state is not easy and you need to rely on the honesty and professionalism of the contractor. They tore up carpet and tile. After discussing we decided to lay a new subfloor as well. Work was done in four days including the added scope of the sub floor. The new floor looks great and they did a nice job with details around walls, doors and thresholds. They cleaned up and took all the construction debris. Easy to work with, honest about timelines and cost. I bought the flooring through Lumber Liquidators and they handled the pick and delivery as well which was very helpful. Since I couldn't get all the heavy furniture moved myself, they moved it for me including the washer, dryer and refrigerator.

Unfortunately it did not go well. Andy/Kelly were very nice until he got the deposit. The floor was not installed correctly. They never showed up on time once. There own installers were not able to do the work as they said it is to difficult. He has not completed the work and won't come back to finish the job.

ceThe person who was responsible to manage the project was very responsive when we asked her to come and take a look at the place and take measurements. Once the project started, communication has been extremely bad. Phone calls are not returned, no follow ups... To the point, we felt that she didn't really care about what we said... Measurements were incorrect. We ended up paying more money later because of measurement issues. We were supposed to get information on the moisture levels for the bamboo flooring but we did not get it. Instead they just kept telling us to pay the money for the flooring... Next thing we know the flooring is being installed. When we asked her what the moisture levels were...? - No Response. The work on the bannister was not well done at all. Spindles were not painted (white color) properly. There were stains on the spindles (still there). The color on the railing was inconsistent. It was supposed to have a glossy finish and we had to ask them to come several times to ensure the paint was consistent. The spacing between the spindles is not right. It felt like they had never done a project like this before. Absolutely not happy with their workmanship.

Did not show up for estimate, and then when called only got voice recording. I left two messages and was never called back.

They were fantastic throughout the process. Randy (the company owner) is super helpful when trying to come up with what materials to use and which ones work together. He will give awesome advice throughout. We got to go buy all the supplies ourselves and so we got to shop around and see what was out there as far as tile and grout. The tile guy they have was so talented and diligent resulting in perfect tile work. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone!

The workers were good at installing the floor. They did make an error in cutting away carpet, Their representative was quick to respond to the problem and an acceptable solution was determined.

The experience was great from start to finish. I got an easy estimate from mike who was very understanding of what my dogs had done to carpet. The price was reasonable considering it was for 935 square foot area. The installers were great. They were professional and very efficient. They really did an awesome job. The flooring looks great! I am going to use them in the future for all my flooring needs.

Mike Cofane manager of 1GRBuilders stopped by my house and did free inspection to the bathroom then sent me quota quickly. Before that I contacted other contractors who did inspection and sent me quotas too. We immediately appreciated the quota from Mike due to its MUCH MORE detailed to-do-list and itemized cost than from others. Since we do multiple projects, Mike kindly gave us additional discounts. He's a very nice and professional person to talk and work with. Our bathroom is small but we did entire remodeling. 1GRBuilders folks like Andrea, Sokha, Demetrio, Kelly and Louvis are very professional and efficient. The team teared out almost everything (floor tiles, concrete underneath floor, wall tiles, tub, vanity, faucets and shower/tub fixtures and so on), did demo, installed new tiles for floor and walls and above shower ceiling, installed new vanity with mirror and lights, electric, new tub, plumbing and painting. A special THANKS to Andrea and Sokha! An episode was that due to our adds-on to the remodeling, the cost was added on too which was out of our budget and I 'yelled' Mike. He did not bounce back to me but kindly re-did the quota and gave us to additional candies which made me guilty but really grateful. They offer 1yr warranty. We've been working with different contractors in the past. So far 1GRBuilders is indeed the best team to trust and work with! We've re-hired them who are doing for our kitchen remodeling now, just started!

This is the second time I have contracted 1GR Builders. Each time I started with intention of using them for wood floor installation then added on projects. This time, my wife and I asked them to replace some ugly fake wood doors and install new trim molding through the first floor. We asked Mike to itemize the entire project so that we could pick and choose the projects that fit our budget. When we received the quote, we decided to go with the whole thing. During floor installation, 1GR discovered that the floors near the front door were rotted. The cause of the damage was damage to the front door. Discovering and repairing these items saved our floors and did not significantly increase our quote. I believe other contracts would have simply installed the new floors over the damage or failed to diagnose the cause of the damage. 1GR, however, continually goes above and beyond. Their entire team is very professional. It's also worth stressing that they work as a team with numerous people contributing with different aspects of the job, taking advantage of each individual's strengths. Each person is courteous, respectful and communicates well with the home owner to ensure satisfaction. I am very pleased with the work 1GR has done and would definitely contact them again for any home project that I have.

1GR builders was very easy to work with. They picked up our tile at Floor and Decor and dropped it off before our job was scheduled to start. We scheduled a start date and then had to delay because of possible asbestos and they were very willing to work with us-I really appreciated their understanding and flexibility. They installed backer board throughout the space and then 12"x24" tiles throughout. It looks great-we get compliments from everyone who visits our house! On top of that, the crew was very friendly, very communicative about any questions or concerns (and telling me they would be late one day when the lead had a family emergency), and they worked hard. They came back when it turned out that we couldn't get one of our air returns back in and fixed the issue. My only complaint is that they left a bit of stuff in our garage, beyond the trash that we were responsible for. Of all the contractors we worked with during our kitchen remodel, 1GR made the process the smoothest. I would definitely hire them again!

Provider installed flooring we bought from Floor and Decor. They came out, measured, gave us an estimate that was by far cheaper than any other quote I received. Louie then met me at Lumber Liquidaters to pick out the transition pieces we would need for flooring. Although it was difficult to get ahold of the office Louie was always responsive and helpful! He truly made choosing this company easy! Now to the installers and installation crew. METICULOUS!!!!!!! PROFESSIONAL!!!! PERFECTIONISTS!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! There are not enough good things I can say about Misael, Carlos and Sergio! They were the most amazing workers I have ever had in my home and there was not a single thing they did that was not perfect! They were patient with me and let me know when they were running short of supplies so I could run and buy more. DO MAKE SURE YOU REQUEST THIS TEAM! You will be so happy you did! I am shocked that this company has even a B rating based on the experience I had with these 4 gentleman!!!! Thank you, I will be using your service again and will be giving your name to all our friends and family in the area!

The actual workers of this company are exceptional. They found flaws in the wood and determined it needed replaced. The problem was with the office. Because of the replacement of wood it took almost 6 weeks to install. Office would hardly ever return our calls on where we were in the installation schedule. There were times we left multiple messages and never received a reply for days.

Since purchasing and restoring our 1890 Victorian home 25 years ago, we have selected and worked with many contractors on various projects over the years. Some of those experiences were good and a few were disappointing. Our recent experience working with 1GR Builders who installed a new oak hardwood floor in our kitchen was one of the best contractor experiences we have ever had. From our initial meeting with Mike Cofane, one of the owners who clearly explained all steps they'd go through to install the floor and the various options we had to the final cleanup afterward, the entire project went smoothly and with very little disruption to our family. Everyone on the crew was professional, knowledgeable, hard working, and clearly wanted to do the best job possible for us. And, their attention to details and making sure the floor was installed correctly and looked right was amazing. Whenever we need the services of a great contractor we will use them again in a heartbeat and have already recommended them to several of our neighbors.

They were more expensive than others but did excellent work and were extremely punctual and efficient and professional.

Our experience was amazing! It took two days to complete. During the estimate, Kelly gave us great advice about baseboards (staining wood to match laminate vs. white) and answered all of our questions to make sure the style we picked was appropriate for what we were wanting to do. When they came out to start the project, the guys were quick to remove the flooring on the entire first floor and start laying down the padding and laminate. They were efficient, knowledgeable and answered our questions easily. When it came time to talk about the kick boards under the cabinets, the guys and Kelly brought up the idea to use extra baseboards to wrap around both the kitchen and bathroom cabinets instead of black vinyl. It was a great idea and looks fabulous. We are very pleased with the results- the floor looks beautiful and it compliments our honey oak fireplace, cabinets and railings beautifully. We would definitely recommend GR Builders!

The entire experience was trouble-free and they did an excellent job. The estimate, the work performed and the clean-up was done professionally and on time. I would recommend their work to others and felt completely comfortable having the crew in my home for two days. Thanks 1 GR!

Juan and Kiran were absolutely wonderful. They started the job on-time and went to work right away. They tore out my old carpet/laminate, and prepped the floors by sweeping, and vacuuming. They had no problems answering any questions I had, were very detailed about their work. Each corner, edge, piece of wood were laid with a specific purpose and design. They cleaned up after themselves along the way, and even ran the shop vac over my driveway to vacuum up the saw dust. They got the job done in two days when it was estimated for three and did not cut any corners in quality of workmanship to get it done quickly. The framing of the tile by the fireplace is absolutely beautiful. They put all of the trim back up, and filled all of their nail holes. The guys were polite and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better team.

They were very knowledgable; Vicki helped us decide on the style and look of our baseboards and shoe mold and Kelly helped me in the store and came out to the house whenever we had questions while we did the tear out/removal of our carpet, linoleum, and ceramic floors. Kelly also came out on the installation day and throughout the installation to double check things. She also was available via text immediately if we had questions. There were 2 guys who installed and they were professional, pleasant, nice and did a great job...we love our floors!!! They also cleaned up all the scraps, trash, etc and left the extra materials with us. We have absolutely no complaints about our floors and how they were installed. We've had them for 2 months now with our 3 year old rambunctious son who likes to throw and drop toys and our 55 pound dog and there are no scratches. We will be using them again when we finish our upstairs and highly recommend them!!!

We decided to install bamboo throughout our first floor and floor tile for two bathrooms. Mike was the one who came out to do the estimate. This was our first major project for our new house and it took us about 2 months to decide on exactly what we wanted to do. I did have some trouble reaching someone at the office, but I think they are going through a rough patch. When I called one time the lady who answered the phone said that someone was on vacation, one employee left early for maternity leave and someone had to leave town with a family issue. I was a little frustrated, but realized sometimes things like that happen. (my husband's company went through the same type of thing last year.) They delivered the bamboo to the house and then came back in 2 wks later for the installation. The crew arrived around 10:30am, which I thought seemed late for a construction crew. (I later found out that the guys take their kids to school in the morning and that is why they have a later than normal arrival - I thought that was cute) The installers worked non stop all day. It was a hispanic crew that came out, and there was a bit of a language barrier mentioned in the previous post, BUT they were so polite and professional! They were like a well oiled machine, they knew exactly what they were doing so I decided to stay out of the way. They came in, looked over the area, gave me paperwork and then the demo began. In less than 4 hours my existing floor was gone. When they started the tile in the bathroom I had already left the house for the day. But they texted me a picture of a couple different layouts and I was able to confirm via text. (that was awesome! I didn't have to turn around and go back to the house) The last day of the installation I saw there were a couple areas of base trim that needed touched up, but I pointed this out to them and they were able to correct it. I love my new floors and am so happy I found this company. My husband and I will be starting our bathroom remodel within the next month with them. I got an Angie's list membership to find contractors for our house projects and it looks like 1GRBuilders will be able to handle everything we need down inside the house.

We really were not comfortable with this project; it was expensive (for us) and we didn't know what to do. I rated the price as good because I don't flooring project costs but it seemed incredibly reasonable for the quality of work they did. I suspect if I got an excellent price I may not get an excellent product. I think we got an excellent product at a good/great price and that is the best deal possible. From the start, 1GR employees helped with every question and explained our options. Also, we stalled on the project a couple times, due to our schedule. We were able to arrange to get the installation dates we wanted without issue; we did request the dates 3 weeks in advance. The crew was great; polite and respectful to us (and our dog) and respectful of our home (no smoking, eating, no foul language at all, no conversations about their life or after work gatherings, trash left behind, etc.). I haven't seen anyone work that hard for that long in ages! The crew was intent on every detail. They cleaned as they went and at the end of each day, I didn't have any additional clean up. It's been a month since install and I can't find any problems at all. The hardwood floor is gorgeous! In the upstairs hallway we had a laundry shoot that was vertical and took up space in our hallway. During this project I wanted to remove it and have a door on the floor for the laundry shoot. Sounds simple, right? Well, finding the right door was challenging; I thought a hinged door would work but the more the crew worked on it the worst the solution looked...there were gaps. You have have to see the set-up to know it was not a place that a hinge would work well. The crew never got frustrated, just kept coming up with solutions. In the end, they made an extra trip back our home and came up with a solution that I really like; the door is hardly noticeable; it blends with the floor and is still functional. The entire process, start to finish was pleasant and we love the end result! I would not hesitate to have 1GR come back into my home and would highly recommend them to any friend, family or neighbor. They will be the first call we make when replacing the next floor and we'll feel more relaxed about our next flooring project.

1 GR was prompt and timely with their arrivals. We had everything staged and ready for them. They installed plywood underlayment and then started to install the flooring over Lumber Liquidators sound proof underlayment. This is a floating floor. As stated in other posts on this company the communication barrier was a big deal. Only one of the three workers could speak some English. Once they got going with the job they called me into the room to tell me that they subfloor was not level. In hindsight I would have thought that would have been the first thing they should have checked before getting started. The floor was uneven in the middle of the room. The lead installer was trying to make it level by sliding pieces of the cardboard box material that the flooring came in under the floor. This was not working so I called the main office and they sent the supervisor over. He did come up with a suggestion that seemed to work. Cut out a section of the plywood underlayment and fill the low areas with floor leveler. Looked like a decent plan to me so I told them to proceed. Once the floor was finished and they had left we then noticed other areas of the floor that were and quot;bouncingand quot; . For some reason once again I would have assumed that having found one area of the floor not level they would have checked the remaining area. This was apparently not the case. The supervisor came out and agreed to re-lay the floor. The same installers came out without the supervisor and reinstalled floor. This time they used an extensive amount of floor leveler. I will say that the job is better than the first time, but far from perfect. They did do a good job with the installation of the trim boards. After contacting other contractors, whom I should have contacted in the first place, it seems as though the floor leveler as installed may eventually crumble with use. The way the floor was leveled was more of a band aid compared to how the pros told me it should be done. Leveling a floor appears to be more than a spot fix process. If you try to level the floor in one place you'll likely need to go over the entire floor to keep the floor level all the way across. We did call them again and got a return call about a week later. We haven't returned their call at this point as we are exhausted by the process and have other time commitments. We will live with it for now, but in the future we'll go to the professional installers. I'm pretty disappointed by the whole process. One would think Lumber Liquidators would be more choosey with who they have install their products. Even though they are technically not affiliated with 1 GR it still reflects badly on them and doesn't promote referral business for those who see their product installed improperly.

We knew we wanted hardwood floors in our home. We found the right material at Paneltown in Columbus. While we were there we ran into Kelly from 1GR and she asked if we had an installer yet. We did not so we asked for an estimate. We also got two others from other Angie's List providers. 1GR was not the least expensive but seemed to be the best fit for us. Kelly was able to answer my detailed questions. The installation started on a Monday and went through Wednesday. They arrived on time and got right to work. They installed just over 900 square feet of hickory flooring in our first floor. We had moved out most of the small items and only left couches and a couple of recliners which they worked around. The work they did around the inset floor registers is excellent. They kept a very clean environment. We are very happy with our choice of installers and would recommend them to anyone.
