Ive had poor experience in the past with other plumbing companies. From now on, my ONLY call will be to Wyatt Works. They exemplify everything that's good about a family owned business. If you have a plumbing issue and want the best service and results, these are the guys to call. They are responsive, professional and knowledgeable. Wyatt Works will make you feel as though your plumbing issue is their top priority. Call them...you will not regret it.
Description of Work: Called Wyatt Works to service a sewer gas leak. I could not have asked for a better group of plumbers. Jamal, Josh and Luke are top notch. The problem was quite severe, and they were able to take care of it in a days time. In addition to digging up the problem area, identifying the leak, and replacing the stack, they also snaked the sewer line over 150 ft out to the street, ensuring there would be no obstructions down the road.

the project ended up being more involved because of all the leaks we had but he did a fantastic job.
Description of Work: We had just brought our first child home from the hospital and smelled gas when entering the house. We called the gas company and they came out and determined we had several leaks in our system and they shut off the gas. with it now being about 6pm I looked on angies list for a plumber to come fix the leaks ASAP given that we have gas heat which had now been shut off. Andy Wyatt answered the call and ended up being the one who drove near an hour to get to our house. after determining that we had several leaks throughout our system, he ended up almost entirely dismantling and reinstalling most of the gas pipe in our basement. he was working on the project for over 5 hours on a saturday night and finished just after midnight. He was also able to remove some unneeded old pipe from our system so it is now more streamlined in addition to being leak free.

Fantastic! Although this was not an emergency situation, I was anxious to get my leak fixed. I called in the afternoon and Ruth was able to get me an appointment the next day. Shortly before Luke arrived Ruth gave me a courtesy call to let me know Luke would be arriving soon. I immediately felt comfortable with Luke. We reviewed my sink problems and he verbally explained what he could do and what my options were. He then provided me with several written options. He helped me choose the amount of work based on what was critical and what not absolutely needed at the time. I had wanted to replace my garbage disposal and, although he had an new and better one with him on truck he was honest and told me I could stay with my existing disposal and save some money for now. Although I knew I could not complete the repairs, I still am interested in all the inter-workings of plumbing. Luke let me watch him work and explained what he was doing and why it was being done. He used a protective sheet on the floor around the work area, gave me some tips on caring for and cleaning my existing stainless steel sink and cleaned up the area at the completion of the job. Luke knows his trade, is personable and provides great customer service!
Description of Work: Fixed leak below kitchen sink by cutting 1.5" Copper Drain and replacing old, rusty steel "S" trap (which turned out to not be within code) and replaced with a new Tee with Trap. Used a rubber Mission clamp to connect the ends of two different diameter pipes. Luke explained to me that my sink did not even have proper ventilation and installed an approved Air Admittance Vent to help with draining ability. I had previously purchased a new faucet - the old faucet was removed and the new faucet was installed along with new supply shut off valves for the hot and cold supply lines. (please note the invoice charge I listed in this report does not include the new faucet - I purchased the new faucet from a home improvement store a few weeks earlier)

We had used them before and although they do good work, they are not reliable. They called us the morning of our appointment and told us that they had an emergency and that they had no idea when they would come out, even if they would make it out that day. Mind you, we offered to wait a week for them to come out, so they didn't have to pay someone overtime for working too many hours. My Husband and I work, so we just can't be pushed around onto different days - especially when we booked this well ahead of time. When they delivered our water heater a month or so ago, they were late and didn't call. Then, to top it off, they forgot part of the water heater system, didn't tell us they were leaving and just left - we had no idea what happened, but we were a little annoyed when we walked downstairs and realized that only half the system was there that we paid for. Overall, they do good work, but they are unreliable and will cause us to not use them again. UPDATE (9/23): Owner of the company called us today and explained that a serious family emergency had occurred which caused our appointment to be bumped. After hearing the circumstances, the delay was understandable. The owner was professional and courteous on the phone and even offered to compensate us for having to use another plumbing company. We would use this company again after receiving this additional information and professional treatment.

Response from WyattWorks Plumbing
As noted from most of our customers we are usually very prompt and reliable and make every effort to provide exceptional service. It is our desire to go above and beyond to accommodate our customers. Without making excuses, this job did get a way from us due to an unexpected emergency. Being a small operation we did not have another truck available to send out. We were very sorry for the circumstances and were able to quickly have a technician available but at that point the customer had called someone else. It has always been and remains our goal to provide exceptional service. We did not do that in this case and can do nothing more than to offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. We will take this customers criticism as a way to improve our service.

They were fabulous. They were prompt and courteous. They actually responded the same day for an emergency. They were efficient and were able to answer all of my questions. They were very pleasant and made it easy to have someone working in my home. The cost for the quality of their work was totally appropriate.

The phone call was answered immediately. After explaining my needs, I was told someone could be there that day, or at my convenience. As I was working, I asked aout the next day and was told yes. We scheduled an approximate time. Josh arrived roughly at the time discussed and introduced himself. Very personable, professional and polite. We discussed what I had told the person who answered the phone. Josh and I walked through the house and I showed him my concerns. He described how he would do each step and then went to his truck to work up a quote. He then showed me the costs for the trap and the shutoff, and then if he were to replace all the copper pipes. Based on the price and Josh's certainty that he could finish today, I decided to have all the work done. While it took most of the day, Josh kept me informed of what he was working on and how it was coming along. I am quite pleased with Wyattworks and will use them again if the need arises. I also will recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: I called Wyattworks after discovering that trap under my sink had been installed incorrectly by the previous homeowner. It was a quick fix to avoid costs. I also needed the main water shutoff replaced. I mentioned that I would also like a quote to replace the existing pipes throughout the hose, as many were undersize.

When I was unable to stop the water form running in my toilet and found that the cutoff valve did not work, I had to turn off the cold water to the bathroom in the basement. I called Wyattworks Plumbing and spoke with My Wyatt. Although it was Saturday, he answered promptly and listened to my problem. Since there is an additional charge to come out on the weekend, I opted to wait until Monday. On Monday morning Ruth Wyatt called to advise that her son Luke would arrive within the hour. Luke called me when he was on his was and arrived as advised. He was competent, professional and a very nice young man. He completed the repairs within 30 minutes of arriving and gave me an exact price before starting.

Called, operator clarified that it was an emergency. Plumber arrived snaked line, ran camera through line, used locator, checked area for clean out, checked basement for clean out, went to patio opened up area of problem and temporarily fixed line. Before leaving told me they would be back Thursday. Thursday morning called to check, truck was on the way. On both days plants were carefully removed and replaced. Thursday the area was again dug up, line replaced and t also put in for future access. Plants put back in and patio area was swept . Great result and ending to a very frustrating problem. One night we had to put our guests up in a Hotel. Thanks to Wyattworks our guests were able to move back with us and enjoy the weekend.
Description of Work: Backed up sanitary, snaking the line, locating the problem [broken tile], getting system to work temporarily [Memorial Day weekend with out of town guests visiting] and returning to dig out area of problem and replace broken section including new t for better access. They were particularly careful with existing plants in our patio area. Polite, responded quickly and cleaned up area when they were done. Wyattworks said they were going to get the system working temporarily and they did. Frankly, I had given up hope of getting the sewer working for the weekend but they didn't give up.May 28th and June 2,2011 Wyattworks fixed our problem.

The service provider was professional, informative and articulate. We had called about one well and drain that had been flooding and causing water intrusion into our basement. After examining all 7 of our window wells, he provided a price to clean and snake them all. Once we agreed he set to work cleaning and snaking each in turn. He was able to clear the problem drain and proceeded to clean each of the others. He identified problems with three drains/wells that evidence some kind of obstruction which may require future work, and explained what would have to be done with each if we observe water intrusion into the basement and have to correct the problems. After completing the work he tidied up and replaced window well guards. We were happy with the work and appreciated his expertise. We do think the price was very expensive considering the time it took (circa 3 hours), but have no basis to know whether WyattWorks' fee is comparatively high, medium or low since we had no other estimates. (This is not a complaint about WyattWorks per se, but is a problem with this kind of service call, because the usual practice is for someone to arrive ready to work, look at the work to be done, quote a price, and ask you to make a decision on the spot whether to hire them. The practice discourages price comparisons with other providers, especially when there is a significant charge simply for making the trip.) For the question above: "would you use this company/individual again in the future." We have checked "yes" but in fact are ambivalent. I think we would first want to get some assurance that the price they charge is fair and reasonable for the work.
Description of Work: Cleaned 7 window wells and snaked window well drains, and advised us about future work that may be necessary. Also provided an estimate of cost to access and test basement floor drain that has been (deliberately) closed and plugged by previous homeowner.

I liked Andy right away. He's very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. He charged us a fair price, which allowed for the fact that my husband had already done a lot of the preliminary work. I also appreciated that he was willing to fix the old toilet and didn't just say we needed a new one. I will definitely call Andy if we have any major plumbing issues.
Description of Work: The lower unit of my rental property in Shaker Heights had constant leak in the toilet. My husband thought he could fix it as he is quite proficient in minor plumbing jobs around the house. However, half way through the job he realized he was in over his head and we needed to find someone who could fix the problem before my tenant returned the next day. Andy Wyatt grew up in Shaker not far from my rental property and understands the old plumbing fixtures. He came over that afternoon and fixed the 80 year old toilet - it should be good for another 80 years.

Did a fine job! The price was well worth it. Very efficient, punctual, and just nice people. The two sons of the original owner came out to do the work and were very nice.
Description of Work: We had a flooded basement and they opened the drains to the street, installed a new trap, fixed four different leaks (toilets, faucets, etc.), vented a sink pipe so it would not clog, and put a new set of handles on all of my shut-off valves, seven in total. Put a camera in the sewer from the house to the street to check on root-blockage which roots were cleaned out.

They went to the plumbing supply store, bought the toilet (which I paid them for), brought it to my home, installed it and did other repair work. So, I believe the total cost was a little over $1000. They were very professional, clean and courteous. They did quality work. I would highly recommend them. The toilet they replaced is one that I had repaired repeatedly. They came in and explained to me why I continued to have to repair it and how they could once again do a patch job on it, but given the amount of money I was spending to constantly try to repair it, they explained to me that a better solution would be to replace it. I really appreciated knowing that. They were the first plumber that I had look at it to explain to me that it was so old that there weren't parts for it anymore, so people were just patching it up with parts they could find, and they would have to do the same thing. They gave me a very honest evaluation and helped me spend my money wisely on the problems that they encountered. It probably would have been a lot cheaper for me to drive to the store, pick out a toilet and load it into my car and drive it home, but I'm 64 and I really didn't feel like doing that. They were done with the entire project in an hour and a half.

I was very pleased with the service we received from Wyatt. Our water heater needed to be replaced and Wyatt was able to come out, quote and install the new water heater all on the day I called. Upon analyzing the installation it was presumed that it should be a relatively simple job. However, there were several complications along the way and to Wyatt's credit, they did not try to increase the price afterwards even though I estimate it likely took twice as long as anticipated to complete the job. We will use Wyatt again.

My husband and I purchased more energy efficient toilets when we were shopping at Home Depot. On Monday morning, I looked in Angie's List to find a plumber to do the installation, since the company we had previously used was unavailable. We chose WyattWorks because they were located in the same city where we live. They were able to come out later the same day, and completed the job within 2.5 hrs. When the plumber arrived he assessed the job and gave me a written quote of the price. He also sent an instant email with the complete breakdown of the costs. He used a tarp to cover the floor in the bathrooms (2) where he worked, and cleaned up everything when he was done. Any questions I had were answered cheerfully. He was very careful not to let my cat get out when he came and went with parts, all of which were readily available on the truck. I was very happy with the quality and responsiveness of the service.
Description of Work: Installed 2 new toilets which had been purchased elsewhere. (Home Depot). Removed old toilets. I called in the a.m. and they were able to come out and do the work the same day. Plumber was courteous and professional, did an excellent clean up after the job. Answered all my questions. I would definitely call them again for additional service.

Costly, but great. We woke up to a basement that was quickly flooding. Wyatt was the second place we called; they answered the phone and indicated they would be able to send someone out later that day. They were very responsive, calling to update us as their schedule became more firm, which helped me limit the amount of work I would need to miss. Once they arrived they quickly assessed the problem and provided me with options. I chose to have the failing pump replaced with a better quality one that has a lifetime guarantee. Wyatt installed the pump and we've had no problems. The trip fee was $79.00 and the pump was $660.62; they gave me a 10% discount reducing the total price from $739.62 to $665.66. I was happy to have the problem resolved so quickly and easily.

I emailed WyattWorks because of their "Big Deal" offer on AL. My job didn't fit the offer and I wanted to ask if they could make me a deal. We emailed back and forth a couple times over a few days and came to a great agreement. Andy agreed to come out and give me an estimate, and if it was agreeable he would do the work at the same time. He arrived on time and gave me a price ($206) WHICH HE THEN DISCOUNTED OVER 40%. I agreed, he did the work and was gone in just over an hour. Everything went smoothly.
