Great experience. Repairman came right on time, checked the problem, explained what to be changed, gave us an estimate, and 2 days later came with the new part, fixed the oven and left everything cleaned and neat. Great service and would use them again.

Dishwsher and refrigerator were both leaking. Both were simple repairs. Refrigerator just needed a new water line. Dishwasher wasn't even broken, repair man told me I must have had too much "Jet Dry" in the dispenser which will cause too many bubbles and hence leaking. Both dishwasher and refrigerator have been working like a charm ever since. Thank you Rippe Brothers!

He arrived on time. Went directly to work. Checked out the dishwasher in a very methodical and thorough fashion. Found the problem. Explained the issue to me in detail and provided the solution and associated timing a cost. It was a great experience overall.
Description of Work: The gentleman was on time. He quickly analyzed the problem. Explained it to me in detail. Walk me through what was needed and what timing would be to complete the repair. He was very thorough and knowledgable I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The built-in microwave had failed, so I took it off the wall to check for easy solutions like a blown fuse. Finding none, I located Rippe Brothers via Angie's List and arranged to bring in the microwave to their shop. Overall this was a negative experience, although limited because they talked me out of doing the repair due to cost. I was out only the $25 for the estimate, plus the many weeks they had my unit in their shop. To be fair, the clerk at their location warned that my estimate and repair would be low priority because they work mostly on house calls...they would look at my microwave when they had time. Still, they never called me even after several weeks passed to update me. After more than a month from dropping off the unit at their location, they finally diagnosed the problem as a faulty circuit board and gave me parts and labour estimates. While the estimate exceeded $200, I asked them to proceed with the repairs because I don't like the idea of just dumping appliances in landfill if they can be repaired. After more than another month passed, I still had not heard any news, so I rang the shop. The clerk told me they had the circuit board in but still did not recommend the repair (and had not repaired it yet). After passage of >2 months, I despaired and just told them to scrap my microwave oven. During Thanksgiving weekend sales, I bought a new one and had to mount it with new brackets, etc. 450Overall, I would never recommend using this company for walk-in service; although I cannot say that their housecalls are good or bad (which they say are their first priority). The final note to add is that their shop itself appears dismal. My son who helped me carry in the microwave commented it reminded him of a scene from a scary movie because the outside appearance was so run down.
Description of Work: On a built-in microwave oven, Rippe diagnosed the fault and determined that the machine needed a new circuit board. They ordered a new circuit board; but in the end they recommended I not get the unit repaired and so I finally asked them not to repair it.

I was pleased with the work from Rippe Brothers.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher was not working. Also our refridgerator was leaking water from freezer. The repairman arrived on time. He was quick to diagonize and fix the stuck soap dispenser on the dishwasher. It took him less than 15 minutes to open the dishwasher and fix it. The refrigerator had some frozen vents in the freezer. He brought in some equipment to de-freeze the frozen vents and that fixed the leak. He additionally recommended a cleanup of the mechanism behind the refridgerator. He said that was a good thing to do as the company anyway the trip fee and the cleanup will cause the fridge to run more efficiently and consume less energy. I think it was good advice. Overall I was pleased with the work done.

Like some other reviews, I found their "9ish" opening time a little frustrating, but once I got through I was given an appointment just a couple business days later. Ken arrived on time, was cautious with our washer/house. He identified the problem, made a slight adjustment and was on his way. I trust this company.

He arrived early after calling to see if that was acceptable. He asessed the washing machine and discovered that replacing the hose was the only chance of repairing the machine. He had the part and fixed it so I could use it later that day.

When I awoke to discover our refrigerator wasn't cooling, I called the number of what used to be our long-time, A rated appliance repair service at 7 a.m. Instead of getting the scheduler, I got a recorded message for a company I'd never heard of--Rippe Brothers--with the message that they didn't open until 9 o'clock. I looked up Rippe Brothers on Angie's List and saw they had an A rating so I called right after 9, but still got a recording. So I left a message. By almost noon I had heard nothing so I called again. When the woman answered, I explained I had a refrigerator emergency. She told me Thursday was their first available--certainly not the response I would have gotten from my old repair service, which was customer-oriented enough to realize a refrigerator or freezer issue is a true emergency (as opposed to a laundry, stove or dish washing inconvenience). I have hired someone else who is more responsive.
Description of Work: We needed help fast to save hundreds of $ of food in our Kenmore Smart Reach refrigerator that wasn't cooling (even though the freezer was still working fine).

He wasn't sure what was wrong with it. He tested and checked a bunch of things. He decided it was the control board. Ordered one, put it in, but it still didn't work. He said we would have to replace the entire door. We decided to hold off and think about it before we spent the money. The next day everything started working fine and has ever since. We appreciate what ever they did.

I found Rippe Brothers on Angie's List and chose the company based on its high rating and proximity to my home. I am very pleased with this experience with them and plan to use them again.
Description of Work: I called Rippe Brothers because our icemaker was not making ice and was able to get a service appointment within 1-2 days. The repairman diagnosed the problem and replaced the icemaker, having the model we needed on the service truck. He was courteous, arrived promptly, and completed the work within a short amount of time. I was pleased with their service and will use them again.

The man earned his money, and then refused to take a dime more than $178 for several hours of work converting the range to run on propane. This particular model turned out to be difficult and complicated - more so than most units they commonly deal with. He did not give up and worked his butt off to get the unit working. Because it took so long, he had to finally leave but made a point to come back later in the evening to finish the job and make sure the burners were properly calibrated. Highly recommend this company.

The washing machine started making a loud noise during the spin cycle. Fearing the worst, they came out and after listening to the washer, he immediately diagnosed it as something in the water pump. After taking it apart he found a small nail in the pump. Put it all back together and everything worked normally again. He came within the 2 hour window as promised.

My dryer was not heating. Rippe had replaced the heating element last year after a similar problem occurred. The repairman replaced the faulty heating element and did not charge me for the part, even though the warranty on that part is only 90 days ( it had been 11 months). I had expected to pay at least the cost price for a replacement.I felt they went above and beyond good service and will definitely call them for any appliance repair I have in the future.

I couldn't be more pleased; I was in desperate need of this repair as I was hosting a party the next day, and was absolutely impressed that I called in the morning and had a service professional out that same afternoon! We'd definitely use this repair company again.
Description of Work: Our refrigerator and freezer were not functioning properly--the motor was working but it was not cooling, and the ice maker shut down. I called and was given an appointment for later that day, which impressed me; the repairman came out within the time frame quoted. The rep inspected and problem-solved the side-by-side fridge/freezer, cleaned coils off the back, used a heat gun to melt ice that had accumulated in the freezer, checked connections, fixed the ice maker and the door dispensers for ice and water, and waited to ensure all items were working. He reminded me of the coupon I could apply to the service from Angie's List and waited patiently while I printed the coupon off. He walked me through each step of what he was doing and the rationale for such, and was very knowledgeable/efficient.

I located this company from angie's list based on ratings and location. I made the initial call on 5/8/2012 with the first inital visit made within 2 days on 5/10/12 during the 2 hour time frame they had provided. The services man diagnosed the problem, explain what was needed and the cost. He returned on 5/12/2012, made the repair and was done within 15-20 minutes. I now have a washer that works! The charge quoted on the phone was $79.95 with the $10 coupon off of the servcies call it came to $69.95

Overall, we were satisfied with the service. It would have been nice if it could have been fixed, but wasn't possible. Service rep was very personable and professional. Also, prompt and did arrive on time with notice.
Description of Work: Oven did not work only the oven light would come on. Rep came and took it apart to determine what was wrong. He did a lot of trouble shooting. He was very careful about shutting off electricity and turning back on when needed. Rep determined new electrical panel would be needed. We decided to not service and buy new oven.

We hired them twice to repair our refrigerator and both times they actually did a good job did not try to sell new things. We had a maytag dryer with a lot of computer functionality that had a faulty power button. It was not a mechanical problem. Rippe's worker left to do some research. He return with options including replacing the board and listed costs. When we decided to replace the dryer, he did not charge us a penny. Later we got a used dryer and it had problems with the belt. We called Rippe Brothers a second time and they were quickly able to identify the problem, complete the work quickly and professionally at a very reasonable price. They were very good to work with and I'll use them again.

Washer stopped cycling properly Saturday, 12/17. Called Rippe Brothers, have used before, and surprised someone answered on a Saturday afternoon. Set up appointment for 12/20, 10-12. Showed up at 9:45, diagnosed problem, said needed new timer assembly and would be back 12/21 at 1:00 after picking up part to install. Called me back at 3:00 on 12/20 and said had part and service man has a few minutes and if okay will come by in 15 minutes to install. Worked for me. Very professional all the way around.

One evening, I noticed that the clothes dryer wasn't drying the clothes well, and that the air inside was very humid. I checked the vent outlet and found that it was clogged. I unclogged it and a piece of paper fell out with the clog. The paper must have slipped down behind the dryer screen, blown into the vent, and then created a clog. After clearing the clog, the dryer was venting well. It was running, tumbling, and blowing air but not heating up. I checked the circuit breaker but that was not the source of the problem. I called Rippe Bros because we'd used them before. They were very accomodating to my schedule and agreed to come on a specific day when I had to be home for another reason. The service person arrived promptly on time. He listened as I described the history of the problem, above. He climbed behind the machine (a very tight fit!) and tested several electrical components to identify the problem. Fortunately, from a cost perspective, it was a safety fuse that had blown and not the main heating unit. The service person quickly replaced the fuse, and cleaned up some of the lint inside the dryer vents and behind the machine. We tested the dryer, and it was heating like a champ. He also went outside to check on the vent, and verified that it was blowing freely. The total job took less than 30 minutes. I appreciated the professionalism and promptness of the service person, and that he took the time to identify the true source of the problem (the fuse) without just replacing parts willy-nilly.
Description of Work: My clothes dryer stopped heating, although it continued to tumble. Rippe Bros replaced a broken safety fuse and the dryer works fine..
