Description of Work: I had our driveway replaced in late October 2010. The concrete work was good except for an area by the sidewalk that was defective. The sealing of the driveway was not done until the concrete had set up. I the meantime we left the first of Novemeber for Hilton Head and were gone for the month, returning around December 3. Upon our return we found our driveway with an extensive "mottled" appearance. The contractor returned and looked at the problem and said he would come back in the Spring and correct the situation since it had become too cold to work. He did return in the Spring and tried several things to correct the defect, none of which worked. I called the manufacturer of the sealant and he indicated that there was a problem with the application, indicating that it was probably applied when the temperature was too cold to effectively apply the product. The contractor did not agree and blamed the product and not his work. He continued to promise to rectify the problem but never did. Each time I called him he had a different excuse why he couldn't come out and fix the problem. He also stated that there was sealant on the driveway in spite of his efforts to remove it with some pretty strong chemicals, one of which killed some grass along the edge of the driveway which I knew it would since that was one of the cautions on the label. I wasn't at all concerned about this since it was a small area, but I wanted to stress how strong the product was. At the beginning of the Spring 2012 I called the contractor and he stated he had a chemical that would remove the sealant and he then would reseal the driveway. However he did not follow through. I contacted the president of the Strongsville City Council and he discussed this with the head of the Strongsville building department. The head of the building department in turn spoke with the contractor and they came to my house ( my wife and I were not home) to inspect the problem. This was done in July. I spoke with the city council president twice more and he indicated there was little he could do since this was a "cosmetic" problem and not structural. I called the contractor in October and he returned my call and spoke with my wife saying he would do nothing about the problem since the condition was wearing off.
