Ed Heartstedt came out and provided a very professional approach to talking about the solution that they would provide. He provide a quote in a timely manner and is well versed in the technology employed by this company. We did not go with this solution because the moisture issue will be addressed by the buyer of our property.
Description of Work: Provided quote for controlling moisture in crawl space. Approximate cost of service of $22,000.00.
This was a big job. The salesman explained the job in detail so that I could understand. The price was more than competitive. They came on time and worked as a very efficient team. They completed their work in the 3 days they promised. They cleaned up to my wife's expectations. We had a serious all day rain the next day and no water in my basement. Ask for Tony or Chris to manage the installation. They care!
Description of Work: Waterproofed entire basement using their indoor solution. Repaired and/or replaced the drains to the street, Installed a guaranteed sump pump.

They waterproofed our crawlspace in June, and twice since then we have had water leaking in through there. We called them, and they came out and looked at it and told us that we needed $2000 worth of more work, but that they could not come do the work until October 10th.

We had a sales rep come out to our home the last week of March to go over a complete basement finishing project. I believe it was March 24th. We went over everything with the rep and never heard back with a quote. Apparently this company has plenty of business that they don't need an extra $20k. We ended up going with USA Basements and are very happy with their work, communication and follow-up!

Thank you for your review. Please accept our apologies. I will personally look into this situation to try to determine what happened. We almost always quote our work the day we come out to see a customer. I am not sure what prevented that quote from taking place. In the meantime, please check your email (trash/ spam) etc. These days more and more of our contact comes in the form of emails back and forth. This would not be the first time a quote or some other correspondence from a bank, etc. got sent right to the spam file. Also, if any customer should find that they have not received information requested from our company, please feel free to contact us to let us know. Ask for the Office or General Manager, and I assure you they will make sure you are taken care of. I am sure that we were not aware that this information did not reach you. Michael & Gayle Rusk

The salesman came as planned and promised a time in March to fix our basement, but never heard back for appt. Called salesman 3 wks. later for date for repair work, said he'd get back the following week, never heard from him. I than called and talked to Jeremy at the office who than got us in within the following week, and the nice men came on Sat. and they also informed me about my sump pump not working correctly, which salesman never noticed, and the one worker took a trip back to office for the new sump pump. The pump and whole side of basement was completed in only 6 hrs. The workers were great, but the sales person was not good. I even had a referral for my 2% referral discount and he came on time and was to send a estimate by email to me for my referral as requested and never followed up on that which was to install a dehumidifier for basement which was around $3900.00, I reminded him on the same phone call for my appt. and no further action taken on that either. . Because of the 1st impression by salesman I would not refer this company, but the workers are great and they are the ones who make the company, they really know what they are doing.

Thank you very much for the kind words about Jeremy, and our installation team. We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication between the consultant and you. He has been with us for a long time and must have just had an off day. I agree with you 100% about the importance of a "first impression". I am glad that our 2nd impression met or exceeded your expectations. We just wish it was on the first try though. I do hope that you call upon us in the future and we wish you the best.

I thought they were very good. They came out and did the work. It was a big deal purchase. There was extra cost because it was a major thing to have it waterproofed. They were very clean. They were quiet busy because they have commercial customers as well. So I have to wait to get in-between those kinds of jobs.
Description of Work: Tomorrow Home Solutions looked at the basement and gave me an estimate on how much it would cost.
I contacted the company in February for a free estimate for finishing my basement. An appointment was scheduled for three weeks later, which was the first available date. A few days later, the gentleman I spoke with called me back and informed me there had been a mistake, they were not available and they needed to schedule it for three more weeks after the original date. The day of the appointment, the gentleman who was supposed to come out called me and cancelled. It was obvious it was for personal reasons, which was fine, but he he said he would call and reschedule the next day. They was 10 days ago and I have not heard from the company.

After I purchased the deal, I was going out of the country for a while before I could have the work completed. The people who I spoke with had recommended that I cancel the Big Deal because I could not have the work done until after it had expired. My dealing with them was very pleasant from what I can recall. It was nice that they were honest and recommended the refund.

The big deal from Tomorrow Home Solutions worked out good. I believe there were no additional charges than the big deal. They noted that I might want to consider getting some work in the future but nothing catastrophic. I thought that it was going to be just inspection but it pretty much came out as a sales pitch. That was not what I was looking for. The price was fine but it didn't seem like too big of an inspection. I think they were coming out to try to sell. The price itself seemed fair but it really didn't turn out to be what I thought I was paying the 49 dollars for. The responsiveness was fine. He was on time. The professionalism was rough. At the end they tried to push real hard to make some kind of sale that day. Anything might happen but I don't think they would be on top of the list if I need those services.

We did go out to their home and leave a quote in 2012. We also followed up with customer at that time nothing was said about our sales rep, just that they couldn't afford the work and they would call us if they were to do anything in the future. That is how it was left. We always try to provide the best customer service and always follow up on any issues.

The only reason we had this job done was because of the push piering to possibly and hopefully stablize the foundation walls. Time will tell if this to be the case. To go through this process again, no. We could replace the entire two walls with new block and a new reinforced footer, reinforced rod and core the concrete block the entire approximate 85 to 90 foot length of wall and be further ahead. In theory it seems and sounds good, but ther is room for improvement in the excavation process and the block reinforcement and repair overall. Working close to any type foundation or building requires a great amount of experience over many years.
Description of Work: The young crew had a willingness to work and much of it is heavy work that I give them credit for. The excavation down to the footer drain was way to wide at various places and some areas of cracked and broken block was not repaired. We decided to complete the job ourselves as we also do excavation and foundation repairs.

The issues here with this customer are very unfortunate and of course there are two sides to every story. We did everything in our power to make sure this customer was satisfied and serviced with our proven “super service”. Our record speaks for itself. What the customer did not say is that the total job cost was $27,000 and that not until a family member got involved, after the work had started not at the initial consultation, is that when things went astray. His family member started to try and tell us how to do our job because he owns a dump truck and an excavator and knows how to dig a hole. Which, him not being trained in piering, which is our expertise, and not a member of our network or company, is not tolerable for our national warranty or insurance purposes. He even went to the extent of having us not do a portion of the job that had not been exposed yet and was on another wall, even though his family member called us, in his own words, “to stabilize the foundation walls”. We tried to explain to him that the problem is not the need to replace the block and footer, it is the lack of suitable soil under it. This unstable ground/soil is the problem. He could rebuild the wall and footing and would still have the problem, no matter how much reinforcing or “rebar and slurry” you would add to the wall, it will not fix the problem. All they would be accomplishing by adding all of this extra “reinforcing”, is add extra weight to an already unstable area. Causing it to sink and be right back to the same problem he called us to fix in the first place. I agree with Mr. [member name removed], that you definitely need experience when dealing with this type of project and problem, and how you could get confused on how to fix it, if not properly trained. All of our workers are certified by our National training center located in Omaha Nebraska. Our employees undergo rigorous testing and field training, in which the trainers are on actual jobsites until they are satisfied that the worker is properly trained. To take it one step further, we have certified engineers on staff and fully tested engineered products at our disposal to repair any issue that could arise. As a matter of fact, when asked, Mr. [member name removed]'s family member had admitted to never installing a single pier in his life. This customer had said, that “they do excavation and foundation repairs”, which leads us to ask, “Why did they call us then?” Mr. [member name removed] knows, since he is in the excavation business, that if you excavate too narrow, you can cause concerns of collapse and a potential life threatening situation for the employees working in the trench you are digging. The foreman on site tried to dig a narrow trench for them, but the trench, in fact, did collapse due to unstable soil, causing him to have to dig it wider for safety purposes. To address Mr. [member name removed] finishing the wall and repairing a couple of broken block: They requested to do it and to backfill it themselves with gravel. So we refunded Mr. [member name removed] $6500 because he wanted to do the back end work himself and for the couple of piers not installed because his family member insisted on us not doing the other part of the wall. Everything aside, we question, why that when this job completed over 6 months ago that they are now posting this on Angie’s List? Why not 6 months ago? We like to educate our customers and make everyone happy but unfortunately that is not possible. In hindsight we should have walked away from this job when we had the opportunity. We wish Mr [member name removed] the best and we are sorry that it ended in this fashion.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. In a way it went well and in a way, it didn't. Putting in the material wall system went okay and we liked that. The only thing that didn't go well with the Big Deal was that we never actually got the report that we were supposed to get on the Big Deal for the foundation. They didn't charge anything separate to do the foundation inspection. Overall it went fine and we liked what they did. We probably wouldn't have bought it if he hadn't come out and told us about it. It wasn't really directly related to a problem on the outside of our walls. Because we didn't get the report, we don't know if there were any problems with the outside of the walls so they didn't really answer our questions. We were happy with what they did and we haven't had any problems with what they did.
Description of Work: We used Tomorrow Home Solutions to do an inspection of the foundation. We ended up getting a material wall system that keeps dampness out through one of their companies.

the whole process was good, we had several companies come out and give us estimates on different repair methods. The initial quote was more of a sales pitch than i'd like, but it was professional and made it clear they have a superior product. We got delayed by a few months by some other activities at our house, but we called basements systems back and they sent someone else out and re quoted and we decided to lock it in and go forward. About a month later the crew showed up and was done in less than a day. They were polite clean and fast. Would definitely use them again.

1. First, why did this customer choose to post this bad review MORE THEN ONE YEAR LATER???? 2. She got exactly what she paid for with the coupon with us and Angie's List. She got a full audit and we gave her a plan and options to maker her home more energy efficient. We followed up wither her several times. She was very hard to get a hold of and also did not return our calls to discuss the proposal. She just did not want to spend the money to improve the home. 3. Why she is unhappy one year later regarding the coupon and our company is a mystery? Many other customers had purchased this deal and were very happy.

Before any work was performed, the estimators worked with us to make sure we got the best possible price and gave us a detailed list of the work to be done. Overall, installation went very well. Workmen were prompt and efficient and kept us informed of their progress throughout the day. The only issue we had is that they could have done a better job of cleaning up after they finished. They left scraps of insulation in the attic and on the floor near the entrance of the crawl space. Overall, however, we were very satisfied with the job.

The salesman was very personable and appeared to be an honest individual, so we hired the company to put the family room back together after mold remediation and waterproofing were done by other companies. We were told when they would be coming to do the work. They came on the appointed days and finished the basement. On the final day, we were not home to do a walk through and no one from the company mentioned it. I then hired a painter to finish off the walls. Because he is a professional, he pointed out several flaws in the workmanship. I immediately realized that his assessment was accurate. He finished some of the work himself, so he could start painting. I called the company to register my complaints. Another problem was that the dehumidifier they had installed was running 24 hours a day and was quite loud. I wanted them to let me know if this was normal. My painter/handyman looked at the dehumidifier and was able to determine that it was running continually because of the setting it was on, which the company employees had done. In addition to that concern, I told them that I had quite a few concerns with their sloppy work. These concerns included unfinished woodwork, unfinished area at the bottom of the stairs, ceiling in the bathroom and other shoddy workmanship. They cut the floors around the woodwork very sloppily. Instead of slipping the flooring under the woodwork, they messily cut around the woodwork, leaving gaping spaces, which looked bad and would collect dirt. There was also a large gap where the floor met the fireplace, also looking horrible and a dirt collector. The company sent Rick, the alleged foreman out to address our concerns. He did acknowledge my concerns and stated he would address them. I asked him about the dehumidifier because I did not know if the noise it made was normal or not. He stated a new dehumidifier had been ordered but had not been received yet. He stated they would call when it came in and switch it out with the one they had already installed. This was never done, all these months later. Rick was the foreman on the project and seemed very confused about why I objected to the way the floors had been installed. I showed him other flooring in the home that had been installed correctly. I told him, per my handyman, that there was a tool that you could use to install it without jagged cuts. He said he never heard of such a tool. This from the foreman. He caulked the jagged edges and said he would be back in a few days to finish. I never heard from him again, nor did the company ever switch out the dehumidifier.
Description of Work: My husband and I hired the provider to finish my basement with the most mold resistant materials available. Before I hired this company, a mold remediation company had removed all the mold and a waterproofing company had dug up the foundation to solve the water problems. We then hired the company to finish the family room part of the basement. One of the reasons we hired the company was because they had an A score on Angie's list and had been named a Super Service Provider.

I spoke with (removed member name) September 11th about her letter to Angie’s list. We discussed her issues line by line. The biggest problem here is communication between the (removed member name) and our foreman. We have check lists, forms, walkthroughs and personal interaction to try and avoid any issues and keep our customers happy. Sometimes our efforts to provide top quality customer service is defeated. I explained to (removed member name) that we were waiting on a phone call from her, to proceed any further in her basement. Our foreman Rick did go over and caulk a couple of the gaps in for her and address the other issues. (removed member name) told him that it looked 100% better and was happy when he left. We offered to put a drywall ceiling in her bathroom, which as not on any contract, free of charge, as an act of a good company, for her troubles. She was to call us after her electrician and or HVAC tech moved some items in the ceiling so that it could be done. It is not uncommon for customers to call months later after the installation to have “punch list” items completed. Some customers choose to do their own floors and painted and we return later to install trim, bathroom fixtures, etc. We have a new Sanidry for her as well, in our warehouse still to this day, which he was going to bring out when she called for us to return. Even if it were a setting issue, I ordered her a new Sanidry because she was not satisfied with the one that was there. We explained to her that “sliding” the new floor under the existing trim was not an option. We could not remove the existing trim without damaging it and causing them to have to replace it at additional cost. Rick does have and knows how to use a “jamb saw” as the painter was trying to explain. Floating laminate floors need a small gap to even be installed properly. You have to bend each piece at angle then lay it flat to connect them together. They are rigid so you cannot bend them to connect them together and “slide” them under trim at the same time. Cutting the 50 year old trim would not accomplish anything other than ruining the trim, so the crew cut it in as tight as possible. The same for the fire place area. It is uneven brick with no trim and is impossible to cut a laminate floor tight to, with no gaps. I can put some trim on the fireplace area for them, but with the brick being uneven there would be a gap in the trim as well, that could only be fixed with caulking. We do want all of our customers to be happy and strive to do everything we can to ensure that is accomplished. I left my conversation with (removed member name) as, “Please let me know what we can do to make you happy”. To take a moment to think about it and call me back. It is Friday the 13th and I haven’t heard anything as of yet, but I hope to hear something soon.

1) We finished the work for (removed member name) in February of 2012!!! WAY over a year later, he posts this complaint? 2) He has NEVER called our office about ANYTHING. If there was an issue with the work that we did, we would have addressed it right away. 3) Interesting he graded our product an A, and the price an F???? If our pricing was so bad, why did he hire us to do the work? He got other estimates. 4) His only comment was "waiting for a call back"???? He has never called. I am pleased that he gave us a good rating on professionalism and on punctuality. He must have been pleased with the product and our crew. We pride ourselves and train our crew to ensure we have happy customers. We get many referrals, and have happy Angie's List customers. Our reputation is very important to us and we doing everything was can to make the customer happy. We can do that, if they call. We work very hard to have happy customers. Why he felt he had to post this over a year later is a wonder. We will reach out to him to see what the problem is.
