 + -1 moreOur move went very well. Ryan Meek, Justin Pool, Dutch McNamara and Zach Kusmierek were the movers. We can't say enough good about these four gentlemen. They were prompt and on time. Did a walk-through of our property and quickly got to business. We had a ton of stuff. The guys were very conscientuous of the walls, carpet and entryways. They were fast and all seemed to enjoy their job. They had a comaradarie with each other and were very polite when asking questions. Not only did the guys load and unload but they unloaded the furniture and boxes to the area I had tagged. This meant up and down stairs. We ended up having three loads. After a full day, both Dutch and Zach stayed on to make sure we got everything over to our new property. This was GREATLY appreciated. These two gentleman had a long day. They were as efficient at the end of the day as they were in the morning. You could tell they were good employees and great representatives for MVM. All four gentleman:Ryan, Justin, Dutch and Zach are fine young men. Their orients should be proud of them. Also MVM. We will be recommending MVM to our friends. PS: You get a discount for being an Angie's List.

 + -1 moreThe movers arrived on time and introduced themselves. Mas and Mike were very courteous. They explained everything and went over the contract thoroughly. They worked quickly and efficiently. The final price was in the range quoted at $100 per hour. They arranged everything at the new office just as i directed. I would certainly hire this company again and was very pleased with Max and Mike.

I called MVM on the Monday after Christmas with the request to move sometime that week. They provided a couple of potential dates and times and were able to quickly schedule my move. The movers, Derek and Chris, were extremely polite, professional and efficient. I would use this company again!

 + -1 moreI was told the truck would be leaving Maumee at 8 am. I was pleasantly surprised when Justin P and John G arrived with the moving van at 8:15 am. Justin and I did a walk through so he would know what I was expecting while John set up the truck and padded the front doorway to protect it. They were very fast and efficient and careful with my belongings. Unfortunately, all of my heavy and/or awkward furniture had to be carried upstairs at the destination house, but they never complained. Not even when I changed my mind about where I wanted something and asked them to move it a second time. They had the entire job done in less than 5 hours. Very friendly and polite. I would hire them again and have already recommended them to the family who bought my house.

 + -1 moreI used MVM to move my belongings from my old house to my new house in August, and they did a super job. When I needed large items of furniture moved around in my new house, they came back out (with a 2 hour minimum) and moved them. It involved some disassembly and reassembly of beds. It involved antiques. It involved a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed deflation and inflation. The two young men, Winston and Alec, were personable, careful, very positive and communicative, efficient at what they do. I will definitely hire MVM again.

 + -1 moreVery accurate estimate and extremely flexible scheduling. The dispatcher clearly explained the pricing and the services provided. The movers (Jared and Jake M) were careful, courteous, and exceptionally hard-working. They listened carefully to our desires and went out of their way to fulfill them. In the process, the exceeded all of our expectations. This was our 13th move in the past 25 years (retired military), Maumee Valley Movers has been the most prompt, professional, and efficient of them all. Strongly recommend them.

I am very happy with the manager's (Brian) professionalism and I would use their services again. Thanks so much for wanting to please your customers to Maumee Valley Movers!!
Description of Work: The moving guys seemed real nice. They got there about 8:42 am. I knew they charged me from the time they left Maumee. They were on the phone to their boss for about another 5 minutes about something else. I know this because I was waiting for them to get out of their truck. This is upsetting since you know you are paying $95 a hour. When I had originally called, I had mentioned I would have them move an elliptical machine. The movers and I also walked through the rooms, so we could go over what was all being moved. After about half the move had happened, the one mover mentioned it was going to cost me an additional $35 to move my elliptical. Why was this not mentioned when I had called and got the estimate and when we had done the walk through? When everything was done getting moved he told me how much I owed. I said why am I getting charged more than the time? They said they started to come at 8:00. I know it does not take almost 50 minutes to get from Maumee to North Toledo. Why do I have to pay for the extra for the elliptical and the extra time they took driving and talking to their boss on the phone. It does not normally take any more than 25 minutes and it was not rush hour traffic. I am planning on complaining to the Better Business Bureau about this. They should owe me about $60. If this had not happened I would have gave them great ratings, but I do not think I will ever trust them again. They are worse than a used car salesmen with what they did to me. They also told my daughter things that were not true, because they did not realize one of the places they were talking about was just for storage. They told my daughter that my stuff was all full of mice crap, and that they would not move it. I have never had a problem with mice. My cat would never allow it. They place that they were talking about was only a storefront that I had a few things stored in. I did not know this info until they had already left. I was very upset about it. So on top of everything else, it was not a good experience. I wish I would have gone with the other moving company instead.

 + -1 moreWe went with MVM instead of Corrigan because of Angie's List and realtor recommendation. We had used Corrigan Movers twice in the past. We wish we had stuck with Corrigan. The MVM people were extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile. They worked very hard both days. The problem is that the company's practices and procedures were not professional. They did not have special boxes for hanging clothes or glass pictures. We had large scratches on our refrigerator, and on our kitchen table top. To their credit, the movers did immediately point out the refrigerator scratch. The various pieces of things they disassembled (e.g., bed frame, kids play sets) were not kept together so we have to wait and see if the parts we need to use them turn up in other boxes throughout the house. This was the biggest problem, because the parts we are missing are small and we have no idea where to find them -- we didn't realize it until after the movers left. Overall, they seem to be fine for smaller jobs that don't involve packing. Corrigan is much more prepared to make big moves. So why the high Angie ratings? I suspect it is partly because the company instructs the movers to spend a lot of time encouraging us to rate them highly, as the company provides incentives to workers who are well reviewed. The movers were a great group of guys. I blame the company for the shoddy practices and procedures.

 + -1 moreTHESE GUYS MOVE LIKE JAGGER! I cannot emphasize how pleased we were with the moving company Maumee Valley Movers in Maumee Ohio on Illinois Avenue. I hired a crew of three guys to assist me in moving various pieces of furniture through my house and bringing in some new pieces. Additionally, they moved dozens & dozens of heavy boxes down to my basement following a flood. They were punctual, very, very affordable and extremely careful. Ahmed even found a $450.00 pair of 18kt gold earrings and presented them to the very organized Supervisor Jarred to give to me. I offered a 15 minute break every 2 hours but the guys insisted on taking 5 minute breaks! I cannot emphasize how WHITE GLOVE professional these young men were. I was delighted to discover they move across country as well. My experience was WONDERFUL!

 + -1 moreFrom the setting up the call to the very last box carried in Maumee Valley Movers were exceptuly professional and provided top notch moving services. I got the day and the time I needed to have as my schedule was very tight, the cost was more economical than most of the competetive companies, and the job that Alec and Ryan did was awesome! They were hard working, effecient, and pleasant which I can't imagine was easy as they made a difficult 3rd story move look like child's play, thanks guys, you made my move less troublesome than it could of been! I would recommend MVM, Alec and Ryan any day without hesitation, first class company!

They removed all the equipment from the Armoire, leaving the cords attached( as requested). They did a great job. I have already recommended them to a friend who has hired them for her move.

 + -1 moreThe movers called, saying that they'd had a cancellation, and asked if they could come earlier, which was actually fine. They showed up exactly when they said they would. They moved the refrigerator, which had already been disassembled and put into the garage by the company delivering my new frig. They delivered the old frig to my father's house and reassembled it. The guys were very nice (Jared & Richard) and were very conscientious.

 + 0 moreJohn, Jordan and Todd from Maumee Valley Movers moved two pianos for us and did an excellent job. One piano was a baby grand, which was moved into the first floor. But the most difficult part was our request to put the upright piano on our second floor. It was an extremely tight fit due to the particular angle of our stairwell. The three men were extremely cautious and professional, and I feel they gave me fair warning and complete information about the likelihood of them actually being able to successfully get the piano into my son's second floor bedroom. They told me they wouldn't charge me the 'second floor moving charge' if they were not able to correctly move it up there. After witnessing the whole process, I doubt there are many other moving teams out there that would have safely been able to get that upright piano up our stairs without damaging the piano or the home...I would guess other movers would have just thrown their hands up and told me that moving that upright to the second floor is impossible. For our family, it was pretty valuable to have the pianos on two different floors because we have several teens/children who are seriously into music and practice music in the evenings simultaneously.

 + -1 moreI am beyond impressed with this company. From the first time I called, they have been nothing but helpful. They were a little more expensive than some of the other companies I called, but I am so happy I went with them. Jon and Dillon showed up right on time and were phenomenal. They basically had one bedroom already loaded into the truck in the time it took me to sign the contract. Within two hours of them showing up at our old apartment, all of our stuff was moved into the new place. I'm sure this was a smaller job for them, but I am still very impressed. The guys were very professional and helpful, even after we had a bunch of extra stuff for them to move. In between trips to the truck, they sprinted and we basically had to force them to take some water. The day after our move, I got a call from the owner to make sure everything went smoothly and that I was satisfied. I am so happy I decided to go with this company and cannot imagine going without MVM for any moving related need(s) I have int he future. Perfect.

The two gentlemen who actually moved us, Max and Todd, were punctual, courteous and very professional. They worked extremely hard and much of our furniture was very heavy and awkward to handle. They were very careful not to damage a thing. I would definitely use them again if I was crazy enough to ever move again.

 + -1 moreWe had originally contacted another company who would not commit to a date and time after calling them for two weeks. We had a tight schedule and the moving date was drawing near. We called MVM and sent them, by email, a list of items we wanted to have moved. Within that same day we had an estimate and were on the schedule. The movers arrived on time and were very professional, friendly, and polite. They took great care of our things. When unloading in Maumee they were committed to making sure we were happy with the placement of each item. They stayed on task and were finished earlier than expected which saved us money. We would recommend MVM for location to location moves and in-home moves!
