Company was contracted to build deck along side of house and install exterior door. This was to be a fire exit for individual in wheelchair. Contract was made in Jan. of '08. Paid through MRDD $6,988.00 in Apr. of '08. Work did not begin until late July of '08. Only work done was sill work and was found when door was cut out that floor was rotted and sill was not attached to floor. When floor was taken up, sill plate fell out onto ground. Door was installed. Took four hours and was installed improperly. Will have to be reinstalled correctly. When door jamb was removed, hole was left gaping and insulation from attic kept falling into bedroom. Plastic was applied to area until permits can be pulled and work can continue with qualified contractors who know what they are doing.
Description of Work: One exterior door installed incorrectly. Clear jamb in hallway to open for better wheelchair access. Sill plate work done in June at foundation level on side where door was to be installed.
