We were happy with them. He was here on time and did the work for the quoted price. He used quality products. I am very confident in him. He took the time with us and answered our questions.

Ron showed up the day we scheduled. The entire job took about 3 days one week and one day the following week. He pulled the proper permit for electrical work and did all the jobs we requested. When the city inspector came to look at the work Ron also showed up, even though he did not have to be there. The inspector said that Ron did "a really good job wiring the box" and everything was wired according to code or better. The inspector also commented on the quality of the work done to the outside meter connections and the ground wire connections. In short, Ron did an excellent job!
Description of Work: Ron installed a whole house surge suppressor, exhaust fan in guest bathroom, two new outlets (one GFCI), 4 photocell controls for outside lights and replaced the main breaker panel because the aluminum wires from the meter had coroded the connections in the old box. He also replaced the aluminum wires from the meter to the box.

Ron answers all of his own phone calls and returns missed calls promptly. He arrived in person to give an estimate the next day after calling. He does all of the work himself. He is extremely personable and easy to work with. He did everything we asked him to do, and the work was very well done. He installed 8 recessed cans in our basement, with a cost of $925. This was over $500 less than a competing offer from a local electrician. Overall, I couldn't have been happier with Ron, and would absolutely recommend him to you and would hire him again if needed.

I had a small electrical fire, as result of a bad plug. He repaired the outlet, and grounded the wires. He was professional, and friendly. I was extremely pleased with his service, and his pricing was fair. I will definitely use him again.

Ron was professional, knowledgeable and personable and corrected the issue with minimal fuss and no damage to the surrounding wall. We all decided that the wiring in question was not particularly useful so it was disconnected and power to the affected outlet was restored.
Description of Work: This was somewhat of an emergency call, since while doing installation of a roman shade we drilled into the electrical wire running above the window as installed by a previous owner of the home. Despite a spark, there was no electrical shock and outlets still worked (although this was only temporary).

They were very good. I don't know the amount, but it was less than I thought it was going to be. It's a small company and it's not a chain. The owner of the company was very personable and to the point. He got it done quickly. Everything is fine with no more electrical issues. His price was very reasonable. I would definitely consider using him again in the future if need be.

Ron was very efficient, I was frankly amazed at how fast he got the job done. He proved to be very resourceful and I'd also say clever to get the wiring through to where it had to go. His work has a very professional look to it when its finished. I have recommended this fellow to my friends and co-workers.
Description of Work: Ron performed electrical work for me which included : new main breaker panel :ceiling fan installation :rewired basement laundry room lights and outlets :rewired kitchen outlets :installed motion detector lights on back porch and in back yard :rewired garage outlets, garage lighting and garage door opener

As mentioned above, started with three projects, and was so impressed with him and his work that it turned into over 20 projects. Many of the projects probably could be qualified as mini projects, but they still made an old house with ungrounded wiring much safer and more livable. I kept adding projects, and he happily did them. He listened to what I wanted, and steered me in the right direction with suggested improvements or more practically viable alternatives as necessary. One example was the security lights on the side door. It never had a light, but I use that door most often, and it is difficult to see the door area when it is dark. I didn't like normal security light fixtures, so I had Ron install two nice coach lamps, with a sensor that would turn on light when the door was approached, as well as install a normal wall switch. Overall, I'd say that the work went very well, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him, or use him again.
Description of Work: Too many services to describe fully. Started with 3 projects in mind, and was so impressed with his work and professionalism that I ended up having him do over 20 projects. An important one of them was his finding that the breaker box in the cellar was a potential death trap. It wasn't on the original list, but I checked on the internet to confirm that the breakers had been recalled and was glad that he noticed it. Parital project list: install new breaker box in cellar, as well as replace fuse box in kitchen with a breaker; rewire garage for grounded circuitry, as well as install a security light I has previously bought; install security lights on side door and back of house; install stove hood; install bathroom fan, replace vanity mirror lights, as well as put a wall switch those lights, and rewired bathroom receptacle for grounded GFCI; replaced lights in attic; added ground wires/GFCI outlets to four other circuits near water sources; raised power supply wiring on side of house to raise clearance above front door to code, as well as sink a circuit ground to raise house circuitry to code; rewire my refrigerator plug (I noticed that the original one was hot enough to fry an egg when the tridge was moved out to replace the kitchen fuse box); add a timer controlled GFCI circuit to the outside of my front porch for Christmas lighting, etc.; wire my workbench and the coal cellar behind it with grounded circuits; install thermostat controlled attic fan; install grounded circuit for the TV system in the living room. My house was built in 1937 with knob/tube wiring, so no circuits had previously be grounded. Threading some of the new wiring through the walls to ground receptacles took a lot of skill.

I was looking specifically for an electrician to install de-icing cable on the northwest side of the roof on my house because I wanted to make sure the job was done electrically correct. I called several electricians I found on Angie's List, scheduled appts for estimates, including Ron, but Ron was the only electrician I found on Angie's List who actually installs de-icing cable along with installing a separate breaker and weather protected GFI outlet. (Price per hour, per electrician was comparable) The other electricians gave estimates for installing a separate breaker and weather protected GFI outlet for these cables BUT with my having to purchase the de-icing cable from a DIY store to then hire a roofer to actually install the de-icing cable on my roof. When Ron came to my house for an estimate, he showed me the type of de-icing cable he installs and explained in detail about this product and why he uses it. The de-icing cable Ron installs is called Easy Heat which are more expensive than the ones sold at the DIY stores BUT they have a better operating system as they are a self-regulating de-icing cable opposed to the de-icing cable sold in DIY stores which are not self-regulating. I am anticipating a positive outcome with performance of these cables and electrical work once winter arrives. Ron was punctual, knowledgeable, thorough, understanding and patient with me as I had alot of questions as well as concerns regarding this project. Ron performed the work in the amount of time he estimated. Ron was great with cleaning up after himself. Ron tested the breaker, outlet and cable to make sure it was working before leaving the job. Ron is also a very nice, down to earth person and a pleasure to be around! My overall experience with Ron's Electrical Service was EXCELLENT! I would recommend his electrical services to anyone! I am also waiting for an estimate to rewire my house from Ron.

I scheduled an appointment with Ron to review the electrical problems with my house. He was on time and walked the house with me reviewing problems and potential problems. I asked Ron to e-mail me a quote to perform the work, which I recieved that same evening. I scheduled the work with Ron and he started promptly after obtaining the necessary permit. He completed all the work in 2 days and scheduled inspection with the city. The city scheduled the inspection for several days laer and Ron met with them to obtain final approvals.

Ron was scheduled for 9 AM. At 8 AM he called and said he was running an hour late and if it would be a problem. I told him it would not. I appreciated the fact that he notified me ahead of time, something which not all technicians do. He then arrived promptly at the rescheduled time. I asked him to install the dimmer switch in the kitchen. He discovered that the switch itself was just fine. The knob had merely been pressed into the switch and needed readjustment, which took about 10 seconds. He then replaced the three light fixtures in the basement. Ron was extremely friendly and very personable. It was obvious to me that he took pride in his work. His price was very reasonable for the time spent replacing the fixtures. I would definitely call Ron again for any future electrical work.

Ron is our new electrician! He was amazing. Punctual - He arrived right on time at 9:30 a.m. as he indicated the day before. Affordable - We talked about prices for a variety of tasks that I had needed fixing. He worked with my budget. Trustworthy - He worked on one of the projects alone in my home while I ran to the store to purchase lighting for other projects. Friendly - A great guy with whom to talk and even to ask advice on all things electrical throughout the day. Professional - He knew that installing the bare bulb light fixture I had already purchased for my closet was against code, and recommended a fluorescent model with a pull chain. Resourceful - He suggested an excellent website to purchase a part I needed for my dishwasher. Knowledgeable - He knew that the halogen lights I had purchased would wear out very quickly and be a potential fire hazard. He recommended a Xenon model. When I didn't buy the top of the line as he would have preferred, he still installed the new lights perfectly. I couldn't have been more pleased with the work that Ron did. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS.
Description of Work: Pulled new wire to the dishwasher, even bypassing an old redundant fuse box. Grounded an outlet in our living room. (2 hole to 3 hole). Installed fluorescent lighting in 3 closets. Installed under cabinet Xenon lights in our kitchen.

He did a fair amount of work and I would highly recommend him. He was very good. He seemed to work very well and was flexible. He would give feedback. One day he was running late and called to inform me that he was going to be late, which was a big thing. There was always going to be something that would slow the work like leaving another appointment and things like that in this profession. He was very decently priced and I was very happy with him.

Ron returned my call promptly and came over for an estimate on the same day. Scheduling was hassle-free - we just had to work around the rain. All work was completed in a timely manner, and Ron worked hard over two separate days despite the sweltering heat! Ron was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again for future electrical work!

Once we started talking about permits, however, he strongly discouraged the need for a permit (to be honest, all the other contractors we talked to did this as well, apparently the job was small enough that most people don't get a permit). But when we insisted on the permit process his price went up considerably (by $450) to cover not just the permit, but to cover his cost to get registered with our city and whatever else. We decided to go with a contractor that had a similar estimate but only added $135 to cover the permit process.
Description of Work: We asked Ron to give us an estimate to add a light fixture, ceiling lights and replace GFIs. He came out and went through that process and we were very pleased. We liked his ideas and his price was in line with another estimate for the work.

Ron did a wonderful job overall. He responded quickly to my calls and was here when he said he would be here. Ron showed me the problems with the light fixtures so that I could see for myself what the problems were. I didn't feel like a dummy. He was professional and personable. I will call him again for any electrical problems I might have and plan to call him to install light fixtures I will be replacing in the future.
Description of Work: I detected the smell of wires burning in my basement storage area. Ron came the same day I called. He discovered the problem and advised that the light fixtures were the problem. He checked all the wiring in the storage area and the breaker box to assure me that the general wiring was in good condition. I purchased two new light fixtures and Ron came the morning after I called to install them.
