Buckeye House Painting

He never showed for appointment. I told him I got their name from Angie's List.

Dan, the owner, came to my home to give me an estimate. It only took a few days and he was very prompt on the day of the appointment. He was very friendly and honest about exactly what they would do for me. His estimate was very easy to read and took no time at all. He explained that the estimate was good for an indefinite period of time,I could consider it for as long as I needed without having to worry that the price would go up. He explained that they would use premium paint with my choice of color(s). About a week later, I set up a time for them to do the work and gave them the color I had chosen. On the day of the work, the painter was a little late, but was very apologetic when he arrived and began to work immediately. He was very pleasant and not at all intrusive. He worked all day, and left promptly at 5:00. He had cleaned up nicely and the work was beautiful. It was a pleasant experience all the way around!

He was quick to call us to set up an appointment and promptly came out to give us an estimate. He patched, sanded and painted 2 coats on the walls and ceiling in the master bedroom and walk-in closet and painted the ceilings only in the master bath. Friendly, courteous, good follow-through and a job well done. Will use again.

They came on time and needed no assistance from us, they took care of everything and did a great job. They moved all the furniture around and put things back in a good fashion with no breakage.

Dan, the owner, was very helpful with paint selection and offered a competitive price. We had a great 3-man crew. They did a lot of prep work including fixing holes and bad spots on the walls then sanding and sealing. They took care of removing, then replacing all blinds and moving furniture. Our walls probably look better than when we moved into our new house! They did all this work in less than a day and a half, which was important to us since we were scheduling other contractors. Highly recommend!

The crew doing our home showed up on time and was ready to work from the start. Some crew members started taping and others started patching (the house needed lots of patching done). I also added one room to the job after they started and it was handled no problem. I was pleasantly surprised that the crew was able to finish all the painting in a day and a half (it is a 2900 sq ft house). That time also included cleanup time and the house was in great shape when they were done.

Very frustrating! We had a very good initial meeting with Dan McClurg, who came to estimate the job. He was friendly, seemed knowledgeable, arrived promptly, and also provided us with an separate interior estimate, breaking it down two ways: total job or wallpaper stripping and wall prep only. We got estimates from two other painting companies, and although Dan's was the highest estimate, we liked him so much that we decided to go with his company. That's where the problem began, we never heard back from him. We left several messages on his answering machine and cell phone trying to give him the job but gave up after a week. Went with another company who ended up doing interior and exterior of our house. I'd have to say our experience with Buckeye Painting was puzzling, to say the least. It's pretty much the only time I've been disappointed with an Angie's List vendor.

Great experience, all painters professional and overall did a great job. I had to call them back to fix a spot missed and was not a problem. They showed up on time and job actually took a little under what was quoted to complete. I'd recommend them again. High quality and professional. They also noted a few items that the original painter missed on our door time. I did not originally catch and was very appreciated since this was a new build home.

They were excellent and did it quickly. They didn't charge until everything was satisfactory. It has been the best experience we had with a contractor. They gave us the best price.

This was the best, most pleasant experience we have had with a painting company. Dan came out and gave us an estimate of the service and described the work so we would understand the project completely. Caleb and his crew arrived on time and did an excellent job on the entire project. The entire team was very professional, courteous, and considerate. Dan and his crew did an excellent job on the entire project. This was probably the most pleasant experience I have had with any contractor. They showed up on schedule and worked diligently to complete the job. The entire team was very courteous and considerate. When requested, they returned to complete some items that were not ready to be painted when they finished the main project. Their overriding goal is to make the customer happy. What a refreshing approach to business! I would unconditionally recommend Buckeye House Painting to anyone in need of painting services.

This was one of the best experiences we've ever had with people working on our home. Dan McClure's estimate was detailed no guessing whether they'd do x or y. Accurate no surprises or need to hound the crew to do what we contracted them to do. We tend to be meticulous, and Dan's crew lived up to our high expectations. The scraping job was extremely thorough. They primed where-ever it was needed. We were especially eager to have the window trim on the insides done to perfection. This is just what the crew delivered. From beautiful straight lines painted on caulked edges, to careful clean up of the inevitable splotch. In general, we were extremely pleased with the crew's high skill level. During the final check-out, whenever we asked about something, the crew obliged with a smile. Overall, we were extremely pleased with their professionalism, their skill and their eagerness to deliver the best quality job. We'll use Buckeye again when we paint our interior walls!

The were very quick with responding to my email about the job. Since it was an outbuilding I asked they visit and give me a bid without me being present. They did that within a day, started soon after and were done in no time. The job looks fantastic. I had asked for a C+ job since I was going to sell the place, Dan refused and said he'd only do an A job if his name was going to be attached. I admire that way of thinking.

If was a little frustrating having to wait for the job to get started, but there isn't much anyone can do about the weather. Once the job began, all of my early frustration was gone. Caleb was in charge of our project and he was friendly, courteous, and took the time to explain everything to me. We had them match the colors of our home, and it was perfect. Everyone on the crew was friendly and hardworking. The job would have been done in two days, but it was rained out half way through the 2nd day. It rained for a couple of days, but as soon as the sun was out Caleb and his crew were back to finish the job. They kept everything clean and tidy during the job and did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards. I highly recommend this company and will have them back for all our future painting needs.

Buckeye gave us the lowest bid and did a very good job. There were no messes, and work was well done.

This was a great experience from the beginning. The owner, Dan, did an estimate in July. Not only was he one of the more professional folks, his price was less expensive (almost by half of the highest bid!) The company (Nathan) kept us appraised of the process, every step of the way. Julio, the manager on the scene, as well as his partner (sorry, can't remember the name) did a wonderful job of making sure everything was exactly as we wanted and asked our opinion over and over. He got stuck with a job that probably was bigger than expected when dealing with the very old and poor condition windows in one addition. He did the work with no complaints. These guys worked from very early in the morning until late evening. The only complaint I have is that our gates weren't kept closed (after asking them to), which resulted in a found, stray dog we had, as well as our neighbor's getting out. Clean up was great, too.

They did not show up for their first scheduled appointment. I called to reschedule, and they did not show up for the second appointment, either.

I need the trim on my home painted. I called for an estimate. The appointment was set for the next day. The owner, Dan McClurg arrived and did the estimate. He was a little early which worked out fine for me. His presentation of the written estimate was professional and thorough. I like the fact that there are no sub-contractors. The price ($2400) was made better with the Angie's list coupon. When I called to schedule for work to be done, my call was returned within 24 hours. My project is scheduled for the first week in April. I will comment again after the work is completed.

I chose Buckeye House Painting because of their superior rating on Angie's List and they could finish the job in one weekend day. Dan McClurg originally scheduled for Sept. 2nd. He called Aug. 31 and asked if his crew could come on Friday afternoon instead. I reluctantly agreed after he assured me the job would not be rushed. The job finished late evening, and I asked to withhold 25% until morning when I could inspect the work in broad daylight since I kept finding spots that were missed. The site manager agreed. Mr. McClurg called me Saturday and immediately launched into a verbal attack regarding the short payment. Mr. McClurg's unprofessional and offensive behaviour was so upsetting that I decided I would repaint the necessary areas myself rather than have additional contact with him. I believe a job is complete when the crew no longer needs to be in my home. Per Mr. McClurg, full payment is expected after the second coat, not after touch-ups are rescheduled and completed.

I love Angie's List, though I'm probably not a good 'customer' because I rarely leave comments. owever, my experience with Buckeye was so fantastic that I really feel compelled to share my experience. I received 5 bids on the painting of the exterior of my home. In terms of bids, Buckeye was exactly in the middle. I went with them because Dan really impressed me with his professionalism. I wasn't disappointed. The crew was neat, clean, pleasant, respectful and most important excellent at what they did. We were able to leave town for a few days. I still feel comfortable having those guys in the house. The job they did was superb. They were extremely careful to keep paint off the landscape, and were all around very conscious to keep everything clean. I just can't say enough good things. I have read through some of the comments other painting companies have received, and it begs the question - why does anyone go with any company other than Buckeye?

I met with Dan to discuss a quote. He arrived promptly and discussed the job in a very professional manner, making a few helpful suggestions. He was our third quote and was able to give me a price right away. It was a very competitive bid and I accepted it on the spot. We made arrangements regarding when the work would be done. The work was done as agreed and we were very pleased with the paint match up. His painter, Caleb, called me when work was complete to see if I was satisfied. We were very happy with the work and with the prfessional manner in which the job was approached and completed.

I made three appointments for Buckeye House Painting to come to our home and give us an estimate on painting work. The first time, they called an hour before the appointment to cancel. The second and third times, they did not show, and did not call to cancel, apologize or reschedule.

Dan McClurg and his representative were very professional and courteous when scheduling estimate and at actual estimate appointment. Both were very prompt in responding. We originally asked for estimate on doing one coat only and were told that they would have to insist on doing two coats to make sure all areas of stucco were properly covered after this was explained to us we saw the reasoning for it. The company we actually used, also insisted on this. We did not use Buckeye as their price was almost $300 higher than company we chose, and the other company's price included them getting the paint (approximately another $200+ that it would have cost us). For future jobs we may call them again, but feel they may be pricing themselves a little high.

The experience was very good, but I did not use this company because of the price. It was my impression, though, that they would do a professional job.

Dan was very friendly, helpful, professional and responsive with the quote. This was a project that we wanted completed in a short time frame. They arranged to come a day earlier than originally planned and the team arrived on time and were fantastic! They were all very professional and friendly. They did a great job on the entire project and finished in one day! They also followed up the next day and finished some touch up areas. Will definitely recommend this company to family and friends and plan to have them back for additional work.
