Buckeye House Painting

I sought estimates for painting the exterior trim, soffits, garage doors and front door as well as for painting the existing gutters. Katie was right on time for the estimate and could not have been more pleasant and professional. I decided instead to replace the gutters and chose Buckeye to do the painting work. I provided a sample for them to match and on the appointed day, the painters were right on time. When they finished, one cleaned up while the other showed me around the house to examine the work. It was gray and overcast that day, and on a sunny day over the ensuing weekend, I noticed a few areas where the old color showed through. Katie promptly arranged for someone to come out and touch up the areas in question, and when that fell through because of an illness, she set up another appointment on the next business day.

Dan was very hands on. We did have one problem at the beginning and he corrected it immediately. Crew did an excellent job.

Caleb and Bob came exactly on time and talked to me about what they were to do. I pointed out some specific challenges (cracks in ceiling drywall, trouble spots and other oddities about our job). We have kilims mounted on two walls in the great room that were difficult to hang. They figured out a way to roll up the rugs and paint underneath them so we did not have to take them down and re-hang them later. Saved us a lot of work and hassle. They applied two coats of paint in a large great room, hallway and two stairwells including 20'+ tall ceilings. We have lots of windows, doors, coves and woodwork. Caleb and Bob (and Taylor on second day) covered everything, moved all the heavy furniture, did acrobatics on ladders to reach our 20'+ ceilings without spilling a drop of paint on the carpet, furniture, or woodwork. When they were done, they put everything back on the walls, moved the furniture back in place and even hooked up our TV system perfectly! Cleaned up and even vacuumed for us when they were done. Left us the remaining paint and color formula so we can do touch ups in years to come. Haven't had this kind of service in many years. Definitely recommend them. Did a ton of work in less than two days!

They were wonderful, quick, and helpful. They gave us the estimate right on the spot. We have no real complaints about them at all and would probably have used them if the price would have been more favorable.

I think it is easy for a contractor to get good reviews on a project where there are no issues. What impressed us with Buckeye is how they performed when an issue arose. There was an issue with how the siding contractor prepped the house and a dispute arose. I was very impressed that Buckey's entire focus was on making us happy.

Katie came out to provide an estimate and was very knowledgeable. She is also great at recommending colors. The work was scheduled to take place the week we had the black out, but they were very good at fitting me in once I had power back. I had two old doors that ended up being very difficult to paint, the dark wood color kept showing through. They ended up taking the doors with them and when they brought them back they looked great. I was terrified they would charge me double or something because of all the extra work, but they did not charge me one dime over the estimate. This was my second time working with them and I was very pleased.

After waiting 3-4 weeks the painters showed up unannounced to start the job but luckily, I was home. They scraped and then painted 2 coats on 3 surfaces of our 1923 wood frame house. They worked efficiently, cleaned up after they were finished, were polite and finished the job all in one day. I appreciated the fact that they stuck to their original quote even though I felt the price was a little high for the small amount of our house they painted. In the future, I will try to use them again but will also get some other quotes in an attempt to see if I can get the job done a little more economically.

I got three estimates for painting. They were all expensive (in my opinion) and Buckeye was $100 more than the others. However, Buckeye was the only one that wanted to be sure I was here when they did the estimate. They were on time and very helpful in explaining their process and helping me select paint colors. Katie actually came out to the house twice, as it was a while between the first quote and the work. They actually were also the only company that provided a quote instead of an estimate. The difference being they assured the quote was the cost and it would not be exceeded. The other companies put all kinds of disclaimers on their estimates to cover in case they needed more paint, more brushes etc... One Buckeye crew came out the first week and pressure washed the house. The painting crew arrived on time the next week and spent two half days painting. They were very good-sealed cracks, scraped old paint, used quality exterior caulk and paint and did a nice job of cleaning up afterwords.

Based on my experience with Buckeye House Painting, I have recommended them to several friends and neighbors. Everything from the initial estimate to the final cleanup went without a hitch. They were very careful around my landscaping and did an outstanding job. Their price was the best of 3 estimates I received. Excellent company!

We were contacted within a couple of days of my email sent to the company. We set a time for a consultation and quote and had the painting done just when they said it would be done. All of the employees were professional, courteous, friendly, punctual. They even completed a couple of handyman jobs at the vents and gutters for us. The job took about a day and a half. Cleanup was complete and we wouldn't have known they were here a day later. I was very thrilled with the great job they did and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. Since we already knew some of the employees from our exterior paint job, it was a joy to welcome them back to do our interior. They came on the exact date we had set up and arrived right on time. While we were expecting only 2 painters, we were happy to have 4 arrive (it was a rainy day, so the others joined them). These 4 young men were fantastic. They removed my (high) window coverings for me and let me clean them while they painted. Then they put them back up when finished. They really seemed like a well-oiled machine, with each person doing a specific job. Since there were 4 painters, the job took less than a day to complete. They even vacuumed when finished and, of course, placed back all the furniture they had moved. What a great experience!

Dan and his team provided a prompt estimate and explained, in detail, issues regarding paint selection and color matching. They started on the date they estimated and completed the job in the estimated time (4 days). All paint was brushed out by hand for good adhesion and the results were outstanding. Workers were neat, polite, and cleaned up after work every day. I highly recommend this company.

Contact with staff to receive an estimate and to schedule the work was good. Communications with the work crew were good. The work was completed quickly, and he staff cleaned up well after the job. There was considerable preparation work, removing of paint that was loose and then priming the wood for painting, in our job. I was worried that sufficient care would not be taken in preparing the siding for a new coat of paint, but I was assured that care would be taken. The house looks good, but as I had feared, on the side of the house requiring the most prep work, there are several large places where the newly applied paint is peeling off in sheets. I will have to repair these areas myself, which is what I had hoped to avoid.

My experience with them was fine for most of the project. They did a gazebo. It took longer than they first thought. They installed he screen on backwards when they finished. They were responsive and they came back to fix it.

I pretty much knew immediately after the estimate that we were going to use Buckeye. They were by far the most responsive and professional business we got an estimate from. They were not the least expensive, but I felt most comfortable with them. Katie, our sales rep, was very personable, answered all of my questions well, and was always responsive to my many questions and phone calls. They also do not sub-contract their painters, and their "estimates" are not estimates -- they are exact quotes. You know exactly how much the completed job will cost. We have an all wood house and needed to have some sections of wood replaced, and they recommended an excellent source -- Aabic Roofing and Exteriors. We weren't sure of the extent of the damage, and found out during the course of Aabic's work that our chimney was basically completely detached from our house. My husband said it was pretty scary -- the entire thing swayed when gently pushed. Anyway, Aabic ended up basically completely rebuilding the exterior of a whole section of our house, and they did it in a cost effective manner and only took a little over a day to do it. We also found out after the job was completed that Aabic is located in Mount Vernon -- we were amazed they came so far out of their way, but pleased that they had! *Please note, cost of wood repairs are not included in price quoted on this review. Buckeye House Painting's portion of the work was equally wonderful. The crew was polite, very thorough, efficient, and very clean. Our house looks like new!

It was just great. Dan had the best price I found by a good margin. explained in detail how the work would be performed. Gave me a concrete price up front, not an estimate. Call each day at 08:00 when weather was an issue to let me know they would be coming out as soon as it cleared. Put an army of guys on the job. Finished in 1.5 days. Did a few extra things I was planning on doing myself at no extra charge. The guys on the job were very helpful and professional. Great attention to detail, cleaned up any spots or over-paint areas. A really great experience. I would heartily recommend Dan and his crew.

She was on time and very friendly. She didn't mind my dog following her around while she worked. She was able to give me an estimate within 10 minutes. There was no pressure to schedule. The only reason I didn't use them was because I found a company slightly cheaper.

Dan and Katie were very courteous and professional. They provided an initial quote. There was a small miscommunication on what was to be included, so after clearing that up, they quickly provided a slightly higher estimate. The workers were also courteous and professional and cleaned up well after they completed their work. I did a walk-through and found a few items that weren't complete, spoke to the painters, and they quickly completed the tasks. My only disappointment was that they painted the exterior door last, but didn't tell me how long I had to keep it open so I couldn't leave the house or shut the door. The door ended up not drying quickly so the paint job was slightly marred when I shut the door.
