Buckeye House Painting

The good: As far as the painting job itself goes, they did a fantastic job. The guys came out over the course of a couple days and got the front of our stucco house and garage + trim done. The color match was 100% spot on, our house looked exactly the same as it did before (color wise). I couldn't ask for a higher quality job on the house. The "main" painter had us walk through when they were done as well which was really nice to make sure we were happy with their work and we certainly were. The bad: After they left I began doing an inventory on our landscaping - we dropped about two grand last year completely re-doing all of our flower beds. They trampled on 11 plants and put a gash (probably with the ladder) in the trunk of our Japanese maple. We had to replace 5 of the 11 trampled plants, costing us about $110 to replace in total. Two of the plants on the corner of the house were completely ripped out and they covered the spots they were in with mulch which annoyed me the most because that made it obvious they were trying to cover it up. The rest of the plants will survive but probably won't bloom this year. Doing this for a living, I would have expected them to have been a lot more careful working in the beds than they were, and at the very least apologize for damaging the plants. **Update** Buckeye did get a hold of us the day after this review and was very nice & apologetic of the damage. They graciously acknowledged the plant damage was an error on their part & that they try to make sure their employees don't damage property while they're on the job. They offered to reimburse us for the cost of the permanently damaged plants (and did) which we very much appreciate. I have to comment again that the painting job they did really was fantastic and we very much appreciate Buckeye acknowledging the plant issue and wanting to make things right. We'll certainly be calling them back when we need paint work again. Thanks Buckeye!

The sales rep, Bob, originally came out to provide an estimate on the porch/deck back in October shortly after the completion of that project. He offered some advice at the time about how the job should be performed, regardless of whether I hired Buckeye, that gave me some confidence that the company's interests were aligned with mine. He also indicated at the time that it would be best to allow the new wood to dry over the winter and wait until the spring to have the work done. In the interim, I decided that I might want to repaint the house itself as part of the project, so he returned in February to provide an estimate for that work. After considering a couple other bids, I cast my lot with Buckeye and was added to their spring schedule. They have an in-house color consultant, Katie, who met me about a week later to go over some options, free of charge (nice perk). Although I ultimately went off on my own and chose different colors than the ones we initially considered, I found it helpful to get her input on the project and a general sense of the scheme and number of colors that would work best for my home. To that end, Buckeye was very flexible on colors. They use Sherwin-Williams products but when I decided on an accent color made by Behr, they simply went to Home Depot and bought the paint instead of pushing me on one of SW's shades that wasn't exactly what I wanted. Again, I believe this is illustrative of a business that is willing to put its customers' want & needs ahead of other considerations. Buckeye started the project around the targeted date, perhaps a week earlier (although the schedule was largely weather-dependent). Someone came out and power-washed the entire house on a Thursday or Friday, they started painting on the following Monday and were finished by that Friday afternoon. The crew was very friendly, worked quickly but with care and kept the worksite as clean as could be expected. They required specific instructions on color/stain on specific boards or areas but did the work exactly as outlined. Overall, they did a wonderful job, and although I wouldn't say that it was cheap in terms of the outlay, you get what you pay for and the house looks beautiful now -- such a huge improvement. I would certainly hire Buckeye again if the situation arose, and I gladly recommend them here.

Buckeye estimated and fit us into their schedule very quickly, worked efficiently and neatly. They had previously painted our house and we requested the same great crew who were always polite and professional. Our neighbors were impressed. We will definitely call them in the future.

They came out free of charge to fix the issue. Their service is excellent.

I started receiving estimates for the work in the beginning of March. I had five painting companies show up. From the moment Buckeye painting gave me the review to the finish I was extremely impressed with their professionalism. Te owner came and did a walk around estimate and was the only one of the five companies to notice that I had some rot on my soffit and fascia I knew it was there I was seeing who would notice. She informed me that it should be fixed and gave me a card of a carpenter Jason Pennington along with a copy of her liability insurance and a cost to do the work her estimate was $500 less than the nearest estimate.(I did receive a 20% angles list discount). I called her carpenter he came out and did a wonderful professional job of removing a 30 ft gutter from a second story house fixing the soffit and fascia and putting the gutter back up all in about two hours. I am pretty handy around the house but I knew this would be pushing my skill level. The next day a nice guy came out and power washed the whole house it looked great. Then two days later two gentlemen showed up and worked two 11 hour days scraping and painting my two story house. They then cleaned everything up and where gone. The price was exactly what she told me it was going to be. I have received many compliments on the house as well. I would highly recommend Buckeye painting It was so nice to have a professional company come out do exactly what they said they were going to do and be completely satisfied with the work. One additional note. After my house was power washed a little dirt came out through the holes drainage was not there when the power finished but showed up later. Even though I already paid the bill I called the owner and she sent the man back out to clean up the dirt. I can not say enough good things about my experience.

Excellent experience. We feel that we received a good value and the paint job is just beautiful. The crew was respectful of our property, punctual and good clean up each day.

Painters were professional and went the extra mile to get the job done well. Bob handles quoting. Bob was very helpful during the quoting and scheduling process. I asked for a specific color and bob went out of his way to find it at sherwin Williams, lowes and Home Depot and could not find it. I made a 2 minute phone call and found out the name and that it was a Behr paint at Home Depot. Bob verbally quoted $250 additional over the quote for the special color due to having to put an addition coat. Spare bath required an additional coat but the larger family room did not required an additional coat. I discussed this with bob on the phone when the job was complete. Bob got frustrated and a little angry about the questions and said that I was arguing over $30 reduction. Honestly whether $3, $30 or $300, I don't typically pay more than what have to pay. I decided to pay the higher price since he was becoming increasingly ill on the phone. I highly recommend getting everything itemized in a written quote if you decide to use them. I was off work and buckeye was able to schedule me within the week they quoted. I really appreciated that. Again, contracted painters did a wonderful job.

They are TOP NOTCH. The crew was very friendly and meticulous. They even came back and did touch up work after the carpet was laid. Everything was neat and tidy when they left. We would HIGHLY recommend them. Efficient and cost effective.

It was a perfect experience from the moment I called to the appointment with Bob to review my project and give me a quote. Katie was awesome in giving me several suggestions for colors. I used one of her suggestions and the color is just perfect. The painters showed on time and completed the project early. They were very respectful of my home and space. I would definitely use their services again.

It was excellent. They were very good. They came back on some concerns I had with them. Robert was the guy I met; guess he was the owner too; he came out, did an estimate, and was excellent. They did a great job. They did deal with a little bit of a rain situation and I was told upfront how many days it would take and then the pain they used was excellent too. They left some touch up paint and pretty much warranted it for three years. If there are cracks, scraps or chipping or anything, they would come back and touch that up. The flood lights were rusted and they changed it out while they were here. They were pretty good. He was there pre, he was there during and then afterwards he came and did a walk around and their guys do a walk around too. So that was good. It was really well done.

I really liked the owner who is very helpful. She gave the quote which did not take long. She just went to her car, did it then came back to give it to me. She helped me choose colors. I thought that they did a very nice job. I like the work that they did. I was very pleased with what they did. The clean up was good. I got two quotes and they are similar.

Excellent service, communication, and skill

Katie came to my home and she evaluated the work and gave an estimate. She was extremely knowledgeable and I was very impressed. She was very helpful in helping me with my color selection. I plan on working with them again in the spring time. They did a wonderful job.

The Buckeye House Painting owner and crew were professional and punctual. They told us when they'd be here and followed through. Painting looks great and crew was friendly.

We just moved into a dated 1990's house. We had tons of wallpaper and even more trim and detail work. Buckeye showed up on time each day and did exactly what they said they would do. Byron and his crew were friendly and even explained all the details to my 5 year old son, who was so fascinated by the painting and wallpaper removal. This was a huge job and they completed it right on time. Katie is amazing and helpful and often checked in with me during the 2 week project. We have used Buckeye before for much smaller jobs and would not hesitate to use them again. We got quotes for the work from 3 local painting companies and although Buckeye was not the cheapest?.they were on time, professional and amazing! The other quotes were less than 1k in difference but they said it would take 3-4 weeks to complete the job, Buckeye did it in 9 business days! Having workers in your house all day for 2 weeks is hard and these guys made it easy and were able to work with me on when we needed certain rooms completed! They are awesome!

Katie from Buckeye came out to my house promptly and went over the project with me. She listened and asked the appropriate questions for the job. She went to her car and returned with an estimate. Although they were not the least expensive company who bid the project, I went with them because I trusted her professionalism. Several weeks late, I got a phone call reminding me that the gentleman who does the power washing would be here the following morning. He arrived promptly at 8:00 am got right to work. He was extremely polite and worked very hard to clean the entire area. He thanked me for the job before he left. I received a followup call from Katie. She told me the strainers would be out after the wood had a chance to dry. The day before they were to come out I received another call from Katie and the crew showed up at 8:00 am. They worked diligently and then they knocked on the front door and gave me two cans of stain. They were labeled and dated and the men thanked me for the job. Professionalism from the beginning through the end! I cannot recommend them more highly!

The sub-contractor who replaced the rotted boards was excellent. We took his contact information and plan on using him for other jobs around the house He was very professional and conscientious. The painters came out a couple of weeks later (due to weather delays). There were 4 guys who applied two coats of paint and had it done in one day. The house looks great!

Buckeye House Painters showed up exactly when they said they would each time they were supposed to be at my house. It took the whole week to finish painting the exterior of my house, detached garage and fence. It did rain one day and my retired neighbors said the painters packed up, waited for the rain to stop, then started up again when the rain had finished. The house looks wonderful and many of my neighbors are interested in using them to paint their houses in the future!

They did a wonderful job. We didn’t have to move a thing.

The person who came out to give us the quote was on time, thorough, professional, and we didn't have to beg to get the Angie's List discount. Katie, who works in the office, puts you at ease. She just exudes competence so you know you are in good hands. The crew who came out was great. They were all very nice and finished the job on time. The painting job was very professional. They kept the site clean and were very personable. The crew manager also gave me great advice about door colors and stopped me from making a poor color choice.

As we were discussing the contract, they were very helpful in ideas of what to paint, as well as what did not need painting. They sent a color expert to the house who helped me pick coordinated colors. They were very cooperative with working around my schedule, since I had a new roof job scheduled. They were very prompt and worked speedily to avoid a rain delay. The painting itself was very professional; neat edge-lines throughout. They masked where needed. All the personnel were pleasant and kept us well informed.

Overall the project went well. The crew was punctual and respectful. Crew leader Karl was very detailed and worked to ensure his crew was using proper technique, though couldn't possibly oversee everything/everywhere. Some newer members of crew needing some more experience. Some minor issues with pain splatter on window treatment and bathtub (so covering items and clean up could be improved). They did, however, an excellent job working around us as we work from home. Contacted Bob a few days ago with some concerns about some spots needing touch up and he came out the next day to look at and made plan for Karl to return. Karl came back out to do some touch ups today. Pleasure working with him.

I was very pleased with their workmanship. They gave everything a double coat, painted the trim of house, and did the Stucco. They even painted over bad areas at my request and made it look so much better. As far as scheduling an appointment and coming out on time, it was all perfect. They worked so hard by working 12-13 hour days. We had some rain delays but it took a total of 5+ days. I give the manager an A++ because he coordinated everything; well done!

They were punctual, they were so clean, and tidy, and they cleaned up. They were a professional company, and I will probably use them for my interior painting now.
