They did an amazing job. I had a injury to my shoulder so was very overgrown with weeds. When they were done not a weed in sight and beautiful to look at again. Put down new mulch, installed some stone around our new shed and edged as well as pulling the weeds. Would highly recommend.

Geoff and his crew were pleasant. However in about a year most of the work has deteriorated. The bed with the invasive weed was dug up and not returned, but some of the perennials did not survive the winter. The steps are now have many weeds as the polymeric sand was not done correctly. It seems to have been in only a shallow depth and when we pull the weeds, the sand comes up. Lastly, we wanted a fairly maintenance free hillside. We did realize it could take a year for the ground cover to spread. But we now have more weeds than plants and due to the rocks can’t get in to weed. When weeding it is difficult to pull them to the roots as the soil is mostly hard clay. It wasn’t augmented.
Response from Ivy League Plantscaping
"I'm sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with the results especially the weeds But in all fairness its been a year and as much as I wish I could guarantee that weeds wouldn't return, that's simply impossible and unrealistic to expect. As for the soil in the rockery being all clay that's simply not true, we installed 5 yards of premium topsoil and the plants were planted using a planting mix. Again I'm sorry that this customer wasn't satisfied but also think her expectations were unrealistic."

We wanted a low maintenance rock garden and Ivy League helped with the design, placement in our yard, and colorful, interesting plants. They included a water feature and accommodated an existing dogwood tree. It looks terrific!

We love the bubbling rock that was installed. We considered other types of water feature but this one was a soothing sound and reasonable for our budget. We wanted a pondless water feature. We really enjoy the bubbling rock! It adds such a meditative quality to our backyard.

"Thank you for the kind review. My crew and I really appreciated the beverages and hospitality. We really enjoyed working with you and we're glad you like your water feature!"

The cabinets for storage, grill, and counter seating area are terrific! We did the granite counters on our own through another company. The stone veneer and concrete cabinets worked very well. The crew at Ivy League was good for managing the gas lines and necessary permits.

The finished project is beautiful. While the add on storage cabinet was more expensive than we expected, we are very pleased with the end results and we think it will be very livable and help extend our seasonal use of the back yard. The crew was very helpful with little details and resolved all of our follow up requests while being easy going and pleasant.

Geoff and the crew is very passionate about what they do, and wanting the end result to be satisfactory to us. They take pride in the work they do and allowed us some flexibility. They have good attention to detail and communication on the schedule. While the final stage of the project remains to be finished, we are very pleased with the pavilion, back steps, retaining wall, seating wall, and stone installation. The project was big. In the spring, we'll have them back for greenery and plants.

We needed an update to our landscaping from the 1960's. Large old Shrubs ripped out along with overgrown ivy and perennials and a large half dead tree whose roots were all over the yard. They transformed this worn out yard into a show place with a variety of different plants that change with the seasons. They added a Dogwood and Japanese Maple. On top of that, Daniel created a rockscape with a variety of succulent plants that is so creative. They were always punctual and cleaned up after themselves. Thanks Geoff for all your great ideas and directing your fabulous employee's, Keenan, Daniel and Tyler. All were complete gentlemen and did a fantastic job. We were lucky to catch them while we did because they were booked for the summer. Can't wait to watch everything grow and change with the seasons. Keep up the good work!

"It was a fun project to do and you were extremely easy to work with. The taxus shrubs hung on for dear life but our stump bucket got the job done. We're happy that you liked our recommendation of installing a rockery and the final results. We appreciated the pizza for dinner when we worked the 12 hour day and the beverages too. We'll see you in the spring and replace any plants that don't make it through winter. While we are booked up for any large projects this season, we do have openings for smaller 1-4 day jobs."

Geoff and his team did a beautiful job on our yard. We were very pleased with how it looks. They promised that the job would be completed within a week of spraying the weeds and it was. They put in 2 rock gardens (that they suggested) that are a huge asset to the yard. They gave us the curb appeal we were looking for. We have gotten lots of comments on how great it looks. The team also worked neatly .....never leaving a mess and always picking up as they went along. We would definetly recommend them .

They were fabulous! Geoff was in constant contact with me. They were flexible with my schedule and my needs. Our new to us home had not been lived in for several years and the landscaping was overgrown and in need of weeding, cutting down dying trees, stumping, thinning of plants and mulch. We have a huge yard! There was no way I could tackle all of this on my own, and I love gardening! The team at Ivy League were always kind, professional and hard working. They really went above and beyond to help create what is now a true garden oasis! I would recommend them to anyone needing landscaping assistance and I will definitely hire them again if and when I need landscaping help! They do beautiful work!!

I hired Ivy League Plantscaping last spring/summer to create some beds and plant shrubs, bushes, and perrenials. They did a beautiful job last year so I hired them again this year to do my mulching, weeding and trimming. There were some arborvitaes and a few other shrubs that were planted last year that were looking like they were dying. Geoff came out to look at everything and they STOOD BY THEIR WARRANTY 100% and replaced ALL of the arborvitaes and shrubs that weren’t doing well. This company is VERY easy to work with and they do a GREAT job! I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing this type of work done. You won’t be disappointed!
Response from Ivy League Plantscaping
"Thanks for the kind woods and as always it was a pleasure working for you, we rarely get a chance to see you with your busy schedule when working at your home, but your trust in our skills allows us to complete the job with little contact with you. Unfortunately no matter how skilled the landscaper is, occasionally a new plant will die, but unlike most of my competitors, I actually enforce my guarantees with no excuses, sure it cost money to do so but it keeps our reputation for being honest intact, we take great pride in our reputation."

I hired Ivy League Plantscaping in 2017 for a 2 phase landscaping/hardscaping project and gave them a stellar review (dated 08/27/17). So when time came to do the spring cleanup I turned to them again. At the risk of repeating myself, Geoff and his crew were once again punctual, cordial, hardworking, meticulous, taking pride in using only the best plants, mulch, supplies and cleaning after themselves as they went. This year they removed debris, trimmed bushes, raked dead leaves, pruned plants and spread new high quality much. Moreover, they replaced the few plants (at no cost to me and as they had promised last year) that did not survived our last harsh winter. Without me asking, they also replaced (still at no cost to me) a few plants they felt were not thriving in the location where they had been planted as part of the original project. After consulting with me Geoff suggested adding a few more plants. Just as previously, I gave him and his crew carte blanche to pick plants they thought would work well with the present landscape. Last year they had promised me a lively, colorful landscape with numerous color schemes popping up at different times of the growing season and so far it's working beautifully. After working with 3 other different landscape companies over the last several years, this is the first time I feel like I'm dealing with true experts who take my concerns and wishes very seriously, take pride in their work and want to make sure that I'm totally satisfied. I don't know of any other company who would offer their customers to come water the new plants (so that they can take well to their new environment) while their customer is on vacation. That's exactly what they did for me last year. What more could I ask for? This new landscape makes me happy every time I look at it. I have beautiful, original plants and the rockery's become a focal point in my front yard. I can't wait to see the full effect once all the plants have matured. For all the aforementioned reasons, I highly recommend Geoff and his team and would like to nominate them for another Super Service Award.
Response from Ivy League Plantscaping
"Thank you for the kind words, again all I can say is that you're extremely easy/fun to work with and I appreciate you opening your beautiful home to my crew for bathroom privileges. Your home is one of my crews favorite places to work and I'd have to agree, they also appreciate the fact that you have faith in their skills and let them do whatever is needed to enhance your landscape."

We had our back yard leveled with 40 yards of dirt. When the job was finished we had rocks and glass all through our yard. Geoff told us he would be out this year to fill all low spots relevel and reseed. We have called him twice and have not received any response. Our yard is now very unlevel and when it rains we still have standing water just like before. I would highly recommend not using this company.
Response from Ivy League Plantscaping
"The customer was pleased with the job and paid the balance owed. I did tell the customer that we'd come back and fill any minor low spots if needed. What she doesn't mention in her review is that a week after the job was completed I received a call from the her at 8:30pm she was obviously intoxicated and she accused me of not providing 40 yards of topsoil, she stated that her neighbor told her that our topsoil supplier only delivered one or two loads of topsoil (each delivery was 8 yards) I told her that I could supply delivery receipts showing the actual amount delivered, but she just insisted on getting a full refund. At this point I had enough dealing with an intoxicated person, so I asked to talk to her husband. Well that turned out to be a waste of time since he also seemed intoxicated and invited me to come over so we could "settle this like men", since I had no desire to have a physical conflict with a customer I ended our conversation. I heard nothing from them for about a year until the husband actually had the nerve to call me and ask me to come over and fill in a few low spots. After the previous conversation I certainly had no intentions on returning to this jobsite. As for the lawn being full of rocks and glass, that is simply a lie, we use the same topsoil supplier on all the jobs that call for soil and we have never had a complaint about glass nor rocks. Most of our job reviews on Angie's list call for some topsoil and again there's no complaints about the quality of our topsoil."

Hard work, punctuality, creativity and commitment to a job well done were once again on display by Geoff, Jen and 3 members of their staff (Kean, Nick & Dan) when they worked on phase 2 of our landscaping, hardscaping project. Phase 1 involved removing ground cover (myrtle), bushes, tree trimming, cleaning up flower beds, fixing patio stones & stonewall and power washing sandstone steps. Phase 2 involves designing a new landscape, adding more than 160 new plants, creating a "rockery", mulching and finally re-seeding sections of our lawn. We gave them "carte blanche" as far as what plants to select and where to install them. They showed up with a wide variety of perennials, ferns, succulents and even a weeping pine, a Japanese maple and a small decorative hydrangea "tree". They paid attention to select as much as possible "deer resistant" and/or "deer deterrent" plants (we had mentioned to them that we had quite a few deers visiting us on a regular basis due to the apple tree we have in the front yard). They also made sure that we would have flowers throughout the entire growing season from early bloomer to fall foliage. They even worked to improve/soften the look of some of our existing hardscape elements we couldn't part with. Throughout the years we have worked with quite a few landscaping companies but none of them measures up to the quality of service we received from Ivy League. They have earned and deserved their name. We hired them because of the numerous "Super Service Awards" they had received and they lived up to their reputation and exceeded our expectations. This is why I highly recommend them and would like to nominate them for another Super Service Award.

"I've been in business for more that 33 years and I have to say you are on of the easiest and certainly one of the nicest customers I've dealt with. From taking the time to actually drive to a subway store to buy lunch for one of my crew members who forgot to bring a lunch, to simply allowing us to have total artistic license as we chose and planted more than 130 perennials and multiple shrubs and trees. And my crew was pleasantly surprised when you showed your appreciation of their skills and hard work by tipping them several times during their time there. We also appreciated you opening your beautiful home to us for bathroom privileges, it was simply a pleasure working at your home."

While the weather did not always cooperate (cool spring), Geoff and his team did a tremendous job in making the yard look simply beautiful for all of the family events at our home. Jen’s landscaping ideas for the flowers, shrubs, rockery and related plantings were wonderfully planned. And the grounds crew of Keenan, Nick, Jon, Lewis and Wilfredo worked exceptionally hard over several months to transform our lackluster, underdeveloped, and overgrown areas into vastly improved spaces of visual interest. We appreciate all of Geoff’s and the Ivy League team’s efforts in helping make both our family’s wedding festivities, and our yard, a thing of beauty.

It's also nice to here that the wedding festivities went well and our hard work was appreciated."

I live in a development with underground wires, and unfortunately the shrubs were located right over them. One company came out and said they will only cut the shrubs at ground level and not touch the roots. Geoff and Dan came out, assessed the situation, and said they would be able to remove the shrubs and roots. They did a wonderful job removing everything and cleaning up. Dan even put the decorative border bricks back in place. Very professional and courteous. Will hire again and give referrals.

First rate work from start to finish. Old pond had partially collapsed and was leaking badly and was too big. Ivy cleaned out all debris, back filled 1/3 of existing pond, replaced shoreline rocks, repaired collapsed sections, replaced pond liner and installed new pump and waterfall system. All while preserving the fish and frog population. Good communication with Geoff and his crew all the way through the project. These people work hard and stay at it until it is done. Picture is after plants have had 6 weeks to grow.
Response from Ivy League Plantscaping
"This was a big renovation of a pond, multiple dump truck loads of decomposing matter and black sludge were hauled. And the smell once we started stirring things up was a bit much at times but my crew just kept at it as usual and finally got it to the point where things were clean and the reconstruction of your pond could begin. Pond renovations are most likely the dirtiest jobs a landscaper can do, but we do a lot of them and we always enjoy seeing the end result. You were extremely easy to work with and we appreciate you opening your home to us for use of you bathroom etc."

Very efficient and polite staff and crew. On time, every day. Worked tirelessly for 5 days and cleaned up every day before leaving the premises. Kept me updated with their findings and didn't hesitate to check with me when in doubt. Agreed to expand the scope of the work after discovering a few problem areas. I couldn't be happier with the work that Geoff's crew did! I know nothing about outdoor planting and Jen did a fantastic job at picking out a variety of shrubs and perrenials to plant in the newly formed beds. Keenan, Tyler, Daniel, Dan and Nick also did a phenomenal job and worked incredibly hard to get my project done in two days. I would highly recommend Ivy League Plantscaping to anyone needing landscaping work done! They truly transformed the look of my house.
