Husney’s Landscape & Irrigation

We have used Husney's for our annual sprinkler maintenance for the past few years, and this year, we were just as impressed as previous years. Art, the irrigation technician, knows his sprinklers! He can find a leak, change a damaged sprinkler head, or even reposition an entire spray line in a jiffy! He has our lawn looking terrific, but also keeps water conservation in mind. He is quick, professional and very personable. Scheduling is easy! After we sign the annual agreement, we usually receive an email notifying us of our appointment time. A quick call to the office and Gale can easily change the appointment or field any of our questions. It's that easy! We just can't say enough great things about this family-run business. Time and time again they impress us with their expertise and professionalism!

Overall it was a fantastic experience. I received other quotes, but Dan Husney was the most responsive, took the time to understand everything, make some recomendations and deliver the quote and service on-time. Unlike a few of their competitors that were priced lower, but didn't take the time to explain anything and sent late quotes. You pay for what you get and Husney did a great job, and their service is tremendous. Dan and the crew that was sent to our house were all courteous and took extra time to explain everything. Dan even responded to email questions as they popped up, and never left me wondering. Great job/great company/great experience

I received several quotes for installation of lawn irrigation in our front lawn and flower beds. Dan Husney provided the most detailed quote and description of the work to be done, especially in regards to our flower beds which needed help. None of the other companies I contacted even suggested separate zones for the beds. Dan worked with me to get the work done before we left for a two week vacation. The team that did the installation (Rob and Art) were extremely professional and meticulous in their work. The plumbing work in the basement was done masterfully. I was concerned that I would have a lot of ground repair to do afterward, since I elected to do that myself to reduce the cost. I was blown away to see how little repair was needed afterward. In fact, when we returned home two weeks later, one could hardly tell they had been there, the lawn was so lush and green. I can say without a doubt that this was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor for our home. My wife tells me I complain too much about work done in and around our home by others, but I had not a single complaint with the work done by Husney's.

They give a time and they show up. It isn't always the time I want, but they let me know when they are available. The quality of work is excellent.

I contacted Husney's in March 2012 to discuss a problem area in our backyard that we had neglected and let become a major eyesore. We use the Husney group to manage our sprinkler system annually and more recently, Husney's updated our landscape lighting. Based on our history with this terrific company, we knew they were the right people to call. Jeff Husney and I briefly talked on the phone about my project needs, the seasonal schedule, and planned a date to meet. Jeff arrived at our scheduled time with examples of other landscaping jobs he had created, an open mind and an umbrella-it was pouring rain! From inside we looked at the area, chatted about the problems and Jeff listened to my concerns, needs and proposed plan. He was thoughtful, creative and respectful of my ideas. When we traveled outside, again in the rain, he talked about creating a balance between concrete and landscaping, incorporating the overall look of the rest of our yard, and being mindful of budget, materials and our needs. It was a great first meeting. I felt excited, reinvigorated, and hopeful that our overgrown mess could be restored to beauty. Jeff returned the next week with his team and photographed the area. A week later, Jeff was back again with a beautiful design. He had a clever presentation: translucent paper that allowed you to see the structure of the house, etc. underneath, but then his detailed design was presented overtop. He also presented colorful photos of the proposed plants to further illustrate his design. It was wonderful. Jeff had also incorporated a beautiful concrete walkway to complement our existing stamped patio. He explained that it would be our responsibility to find a concrete company to complete that portion of the project, but offered to meet with the hardscaping contractor and assist with that aspect of the project if we needed. It turned out, however, the concrete company was very impressed with the schematics provided by Jeff and was able to produce an amazing walkway just as Jeff had designed. The overall landscaping work I think speaks for itself. I've included pictures below. What you can't see is the hardwork that went into the installation; I was so impressed with the crew. Jim was the Field Manager and he worked side-by-side with Jeff to bring the design to life. Jim also provided a great tutorial for maintaining, nurturing and caring for our beautiful landscape. Jeff's creativity didn't end with our meetings. He edged, dug, planted, and arranged plants right along with his crew. They were thoughtful with plant placement, making changes if the area called for it and still keeping the overall scope of the yard in mind. For 2 days, I watched their crew weed, dig, till, reinvigorate the soil, plant and mulch. They were a well-oiled team! I think it is easy to tell that we are THRILLED with our beautiful new backyard. Our experience with Jeff Husney and his team was outstanding. We are thrilled to show off our backyard and to recommend Husney's Landscape and Irrigation.

The tree died. I am not sure whose fault it is. I am not satisfied with them and the nursery where I bought the tree.

I have been a Husney's irrigation customer since 2009 and have been impressed with the professionalism and quality of work from their irrigation pro, Art. He is hands-down wonderful! So, when I needed an expert to help me with our landscape lights, I thought there was nobody better to call! One phone call and I had an appointment within the week. Dan came out in the pouring rain to look at our lights. He did a thorough evaluation of our current system, tested the voltage for each circuit and listened to my tale of burned out bulbs, time and time again. We talked about proper handling of the bulbs, discovered that 2 of the fixtures needed to be replaced, and discussed upgrading to an LED lighting system. Dan left soaking wet, but in great spirits, ever the professional. He sent me 2 options via email the next day: one to simply fix the solar timer and the 2 broken fixtures. The second for a whole system upgrade. It was so great to have the option to do both and to have them side-by-side. Ultimately, we decided to stop changing bulbs, save the money we were spending on the lightbulbs and invest in a beautiful, new LED system. Dan came back out and set up a display of LED lights in the yard so we could see the color and range of the LED lights. We were so impressed by the difference. Dan let us keep the display lights over a weekend so we moved them around, looking at them from every angle. It was great to see them up close and on our home. The installation was a breeze. Dan did the project himself, replacing 11 spotlights and 3 pathways and adding an additional pathway light along a walkway. I even asked Dan if we could move a light he had already installed and with a no-problem attitude, Dan reinstalled it to my liking. He was just terrific! I truly cannot say enough great things about this family run company! I Highly recommend the Husney Group for all your irrigation and outdoor lighting needs. I am now working with Jeff on a backyard landscape redesign and am so excited to see it come to life!

The work will be completed in two stages and should be done early this spring.

Jeff and Team were professional, on time and did a fantastic job. Easy to deal with and answered all my questions. The day of work, they didn't leave any mess and it looked great. I would recommend them again for sure!

We were very pleased from start to finish.

After some 20+ years of working with landscaping companies, we finally found what we'd come to believe didn't exist: a really good landscaping company. The experience was a pleasure from beginning to end, and I didn't think I'd ever say that about interacting with a landscaping company. Why do I say Husney's is so different from other contractors? First, the owner returned my call quickly and made an appointment for the near future. Wonder of all wonders, he showed up. On time. After a lengthy discussion about what we wanted, what we liked, and where we really needed advice, Jeff said he'd draw up a preliminary design for us and give us a bid. I must confess to experiencing shock when Jeff called back within a fairly short period of time to make an appointment to show us the design. The design was very nice, creative, and took into account the things we said we wanted. It also included ideas that would never occur to us. The price was fair when you take into account this type of thing is never cheap. Really, can it get much better? Apparently, yes. Jeff worked with us by email (very rapid turnaround) to change a few plants in the design we wanted changed, to add a few plants, that type of thing. Always pleasant. He and his staff kept in touch to let us know where we stood on the project date. We had a must-do date of July 4th weekend, when we were having a lot of company visiting. Here comes the next mind-boggling aspect of working with Husney: they showed up on time and got the job done when they said they would. The crew was careful, knew what they were doing, and were infinitely patient about the things we added in. The final product was absolutely beautiful, and I can't tell you how many people have raved about it. Oh, they came in on bid, too, except for the things WE added in. But I'm not quite finished. The day after they left, we put on the in-ground sprinklers and they didn't work. We called Jim, the crew boss, and he said he said it sounded like they may have cut one of the plastic lines with the tiller. Apparently that's pretty easy to do. He had someone out at our house within an hour, and the problem was immediately repaired. Maybe you've had better experiences with landscapers than we have, but as far as I'm concerned the entire experience was close to miraculous.

Obtained quote for spring cleanup. Labor price was double to triple of other companies. FYI, other quotes came from Angie's List award winning companies. Never hurts to shop around; especially in my case. Company's response is claiming I picked a lower lever of service. I did not. I obtained multiple quotes for the same work. The service I was provide included a 15 step process which among other things included mulching, edging of all beds, roundup on weeds, trimming and fertilization of all plants, application of preen after mulching, edging of all trees in the yard.

They were professional and met my needs. The employees were excellent and I would recommend them. Their price was excellent. I would absolutely use them in the future.

They were fine and did what they had to do. They came when they were asked to come. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Jeff came out and gave a quote. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Had great ideas on plants/trees and location. The project manager Jim was great. He took the time to make sure everything was in the correct location and gave great advise on upkeep for the new trees/shrubs. They showed up when they were suppose to and cleaned up after themselves. Very polite and respectful as well. We are very pleased with how are yard looks. Would recommend Husney to family and friends.

Excellent. A weekend appointment was easy to schedule and they arrived on time. Work was completed quickly and efficiently.

They were excellent. They dug up about a third of my backyard and replaced it with plants. After they got here I added it to my contract with them. It was guaranteed for two years. They were here for a day. They came at about 8 in the morning. The owner, Jeff, came with the team. He had told them everything that I wanted to have done. There were four people from the crew who were here till 5 or 6 in the evening. They finished all the work in one day. I have no complaints. We will probably be using them again in the spring to have some additional things done. It was really worth it. They were all very professional. They also cleaned up after themselves. The person who was in charge of the team made sure that I understood what I needed to do in terms of trying to keep the plants alive and water the grass. They also planted grass in the front of my house where I had bare spots. It was wonderful. They were reasonably priced too.

Good overall results; no complaints

They recommended that we wait until fall to get a better lawn and they were right. Other lawns put in during the summer are now in poor condition. The wait was worth it. They reacted well to requests for additional work and the extra cost was reasonable.

I went with a different company because I liked their plan better. I would have been just as happy to use Husney?s plan because it was great and he came up with it quickly. The prices that I received were pretty close to each other. My neighbors have used him and they like him very much. He came promptly, he gave me a good plan, and he did everything that I would expect from someone who is giving me an estimate.

They worked with us to schedule their visit and they were punctual and competent. We have already engaged them for fall shutdown.

Very professional, offered suggestions to save me money, knew the equipment in detail.

Overall, the service went very well. They also charge for travel time as well as time on the job.

They are just always thorough, nice and neat. They do a good job.
