Description of Work: I had my carpets and rugs of my condominium cleaned Tuesday Nov. 27, 2012 by Pro-Clean. When the owner, Ron Germana, came for an estimate, he said the pink, orange and yellow spots would not come out.. These were very bright spots that my tenants’ children caused. The pink and orange spots, although small, were very, very bright—almost fluorescent. Because of his advice, I spent time (between wall cleaning and painting and repairing all the other damage the tenants did) working on those colored spots. I used Resolve spray bottles of carpet spot remover, graffiti remover and other products. I was able to get them to fade –some spots better than others—but not get them out. There were many, many brown spots on the carpets. I used the Resolve carpet spot cleaner on some the brown spots on the carpets, as a trial, to see if they would come out. The brown spots cleaned out very well, quite easily and quickly—almost instantaneously. I tried it on some of the many, many, many brown spots on the carpets in the master bedroom, the second bedroom, the hall, and also on the dining room and living room areas rugs. I worked on the many spots in the entry way to the den, and they came out well. There were so many spots in that den entry way area, I ran a borrowed Hoover carpet cleaner over that area, to clean up the large amount of Resolve I used in that area. That area looked great after I used the Hoover carpet cleaner—both the spots and the ground-in generalized traffic dirt were cleaned. I wanted to see what would and would not come out. It is somewhat similar to the way I do laundry spots. I have learned that if I can’t get a spot off before the clothing item goes into the washer, chances are, it is NOT going to come out. Since the brown spots came out so easily and there were so many of them in the master bedroom, the hall and the area rugs, I left those areas for your crew, as my husband thought I should. But, your crews cleaning of the master bedroom left most of the spots. I complained and Tim repeated the area of the master bedroom and it looked better, but not as clean as the area of the den entry way that I cleaned—spots were still visible. He said it would look better when it dried. He said the dining room area rug would look better when dried also. He said he used the same cleaning solution on both the wool area rugs and the nylon carpet. Thursday, the area of spots in the master bedroom does look much better than when it was wet Tuesday, but I don’t think it looks as good as the den entry way that I cleaned. There are still some spots and generalized dirt. The hallway is still very, very spotted and still has the generalized, traffic pattern dirt. I regret not cleaning those areas the way I cleaned the den entry way, before Pro-Clean came. The dining room area rug looks really, really bad. The few spots that were brown that I had cleaned with Resolve are clean, but the areas around those spots are very, very dirty (the generalized dirt). There are still many brown spots that the crew did not get out, that I expected them to easily be able to clean. Of course, the pink spots, advised as probably not coming out and I had worked on and not been able to get them out, are still there. I am regretting having the crew clean that dining room area rug. I had thought about taking it into the shop to have it cleaned—forgot about that though yesterday when the crew was there—now I am hoping that having had it cleaned in place did not “cook” or “set’ the spots and generalized dirt in permanently. I think that Pro-Clean should return to get those areas re-cleaned. Since Resolve spray seems to easily clean those spots and areas, I think they should certainly have come clean with a professional cleaner. But, unfortunately, the spots are still there as well as generalized dirt.

FACTS: 1.We gave the “Member” an estimate back in July 2012. The carpet conditions on the location were already very poor at the time. On the estimate, we clearly told the “Member” verbally and through the written estimate that the many spots/stains may not come out as some may be permanent stains but we will pre-treat those areas to attempt to get them out; however, if they are permanent stains- no pre-treatment nor any amount cleaning from us nor any other professional carpet cleaning company will get these permanent stains out unless the carpet is replace or patched. 2.On October 29, 2012, the “Member” called to schedule to have the carpets cleaned. Almost 4 months later than the original visit. 4 more months of additional wear, tear, dirt, stains and spots. 3. October 31, 2012, the “Member” had water damage in the house and needed more time to get the repairs done before the cleaning can be done. Approximately close to one month later, after the repairs were done by several workers coming in and out of the house with dirty shoes and dragging equipment and tools and materials to the house- thus more traffic, additional dirt, spots, stains, wear and tear and damage occurred on the carpet. 4. November 27, 2012, we serviced the “Member”, we explained that some of the stains are permanent stains. No amount of scrubbing, cleaning or applying of our best and approved cleaning and pre-spotting agent will get the brown stains out. The stains may lighten up but will never come out. 5. On the date of the service, the “Member” claimed that she used Resolve and or Peroxide to get some of the stains out and she got them out. Using Resolve and/or Peroxide creates a chemical reaction when used on the carpet, thus turning the carpet brown, discolored or bleached out which is the case here. Maybe in some instances, if you would like to gamble and take a chance you may see an instant result but the long term effect on the carpet outweigh the short term result – as it will degrade, break down the carpet fibers resulting in browning, bleached out color, fading, shedding, matting down thus shortening the carpet life of the carpet. Our Company only uses approved detergents and stain removals approved by the Carpet and Rug Institutes, Carpet Mills and the Institute of Carpet Cleaning and Repair Institute. Using other products such as Resolve and Peroxide is not an approved cleaning agent for carpets. Using unapproved detergents/chemicals will void all warranties on the carpet. Further, if the “Member” opted to use this product and risk the damage on the carpet in an attempt to clean the spot out but turned out that the damage done was furtherer along, do not blame the person who tried to clean and do the best job we can based on the existing carpet condition of the carpet and to help save the “Member” from spending thousands of dollars to replace the carpet. You cannot expect us to alter the damage done by the “Member” by simply cleaning the stain (PERMAMENT) that the “Member” clearly believes to be a spot that is cleanable. If I could attach the evidence of damage on the carpet, I would but this is not an option on this response report. These Pictures are worth more than these factual enumerations I am reporting. 6. November 29, 2012, (Thursday afternoon) we received a voicemail from the “Member” that the “Member” was not happy because of the remaining brown spots and she used Resolve and the spots came out and the other colored spots did not and wanted it resolved. 7. November 29, 2012 (Thursday evening) we received a long and winding letter from the “Member” via USPS regarding the spots and wanting us to resolve them. Before, we could even respond the next day, Friday morning, November 30, 2012 she left a message to let us know that she put a stop payment on the check she gave us. 8. We have no intention on neither responding nor resolving this issue until we get paid in cash. Not only the “Member” cheated us $286.08 to pay for gas, labor, insurance and other miscellaneous cost, the “Member” is costing us more money by putting a stop payment on the check and damaging our reputation from of all Angie’s List Members. No amount of money can replace the damage that the "Member" has caused our Company. 9. “The Member” ruined it for everyone else. We strive to please our customers- save them some money and do the best job we can for them as proven from previous reviews by other Angie's list Members but Unreasonableness and Ignorance is not a just cause to cheat a business and or a person. 10. I would also like to point out that on the signed invoice and estimate given to the “Member” it states: Limitation of Liability: Pro- Clean is not responsible for existing defect or wear, whether visible or hidden, or unpredictable results beyond our control. Customer agrees to pay all charges at completion of work and any additional charges incurred by Pro Clean in collection of this debt. This is clearly beyond our control as damage was done by the “Member” and cannot be rectified by simply cleaning the carpets- it is beyond carpet cleaning.

They split and left stained on our carpet. After this issue the manager came out with the crew, saw what I was talking about. fixed the issue and gave us a refund for the poor 1st job. I may think about using this company again because they corrected the issue.

The experience was smooth and easy from start to finish. I called and had no problem getting an appointment to work around my schedule. I was told they would call me before coming over and they did. Tim came in and looked at what I needed cleaned -two rooms hallway and stairs- brought in his equipment cleaned my carpets (they look great) gave me the bill that was exactly what I was told by their office -I paid them End Of Story I will use them again in future.

The job was scheduled to be performed between 11:00am and 12:00 noon on 04/26/2012. I received a call at 10 minutes to noon asking if it was ok that they were running 10 or so minutes late and I responded yes it was ok. I have used this Company before and was pleased with their service, but it was a different service tech that did the job this time. I requested to have some addition work done ( stairway) which was accepted by them. Since I had used them in the past, I saw the tools used and knew the efforts that were exerted on traffic areas and stairs. The service tech did not use a smaller cleaning wand to do the step rise as was done by the previous tech and the effort to clean the traffic areas and stairs was minimal. The $ 100.00 is a very good price but that is what I paid previously and received a much more detailed and quality job.
Description of Work: Cleaned 3 rooms and stairway. Post spot teated and area of carpet with an enzyme for a pet issue.

We appreciate all our customer business- we are hired by many as we know our business for many,many years for the same reason over and over again - Our knowledge in cleaning carpets and furniture and carpet repairs. Over 35 years and going…. Risers are vacuumed either with a tool or a hose – either way are acceptable and each tech uses different technique and neither way is better just different. The main issue that the “Member” brought up is the effort exerted by the technician is not to his satisfaction. Further, the “Member” gives us a “D” rating for punctuality even after we called that we were running 10 minutes behind? 10 minutes behind does not justify a “D” rating. The “Member” himself said that it was O.K. – Apparently reasonableness does not apply to this situation. In our industry, we typically give our customers a 3 hour window as we cannot predict to the exact time on how long a specific job would last, as in the case of the “Member” adding on additional areas- which is fine, thus extending our cleaning time and affecting the arrival time on our next stop. We always call to inform our customer if such delay is applicable to them. The “Member” was given a reasonable 1 hour window – a shorter window time than most. We will no longer extend a 1 hour window to anyone due to this incident. The “Member” had the same areas cleaned by us last October 2011 – about 6 months ago. Since only 6 months had lapse, the amount of effort needed to clean the carpet this time around is not the same as the initial cleaning done by us. However, we would like to note as well that cleaning the carpet will not change or improve carpet wear. It’s like taking your old t-shirt to the dry cleaners and expect it to be like brand new or likely new even after it has been worn and washed many times. Further, the “Member” did not say one word of any dissatisfaction as it related to the result of the cleaning. Some technicians use different methodology of cleaning – They are based on the carpet conditions of the carpet at the time of the service. If the “Member” had concerns or questions about the methodology of our cleaning process or any other issues, the “Member “should have given us a courtesy call. We would have then educated and informed the “Member” or addressed any issues. This opportunity was not extended to us but rather a bad report was done instead. Based on our experience, the frequency and or the amount of time between cleaning along with the current carpet conditions affect the ease and effort needed to clean the carpets. Conversely, no amount of effort will be good enough when the carpet has reached its' worn out stage.

Ron came out to do an estimate, very nice, was less $ than I expected. Arranged to have carpets done, able to schedule me quickly. Fred and Elie came out to clean my carpets. They were very prompt, polite and worked quickly. Carpets came out beautifully... they were even able to get out some fresh paint that my husband had gotten on the carpet the night before.

Initially when they were in my home, I looked at all of it and it was fine. They were very polite. Later people came over and asked why my carpet was cut too deep. I looked at it and it was cut too deep around the radiator. One part was pushed under and it unraveled. They were the last people I used and I would not use them again. There was no way it could be fixed. The cleaning was fine but they should not be advertising stretching and repairs because they’re not good at that.

Our records show that we performed services for the Member on May 23, 2011 at a different cost for carpet re-stretching due to carpet wrinkles and carpet cleaning– No work was performed on August 2011 and not at $200.00. We re-stretched old loose carpet, which came out good and tight. The carpet re-stretch work were made based on the existing and underlying carpet conditions –such as improper installation, carpet age and carpet wear. We worked on the Member’s carpet with these conditions and improved them by removing the carpet bubbles or wrinkles on the carpet. However, there are limitations on what can be done to old and existing carpets. There may have been some existing cut under the radiator from the initial installation, which is OK because carpet had to be cut to fit around pipes, brackets etc. Carpet wrinkles and buckles can be caused by improper installation by the original carpet installer. Unraveling can occur when the carpet is pulled by force from vacuuming or other forceful ways. Any unraveling may be repairable. Further, the Member implied that the carpet was cut too deep – Not sure what that means. It is not a term that we are familiar with. Again, we worked on the Member’s carpet under existing carpet conditions of improper installation by the original carpet installers, current carpet age and wear. The Member should just have called us immediately rather than going around and about this matter. In addition, the Member confirmed as stated on the report/review that the work was complete and fine and to her satisfaction- but apparently after 9 months and another individual’s comments and opinion – the Member is not satisfied. We have been in business for over 35 years and are knowledgeable in carpet repairs. If the Member was not satisfied with the work performed, we should have been notified immediately and we would have inspected and discussed and corrected the issue. This is the first time that we were aware that there was an issue with this job after 9 months had elapsed. The Member also claims that the carpet has unraveled and it is not fixable? Has the member consulted other professionals or is this a matter of personal or a neighborhood opinion?

We gave the Member an estimate to clean their house on April 6, 2011. We noted on the receipt that there are spots and stains on the carpet that may not come out depending on how long they have been there and what these stains/spots are from. Again,these were noted on the estimate given to the Member. On April 7, 2011, (not May 18, 2011) we came out to clean the carpets as the Member agreed to have the following done: Family Room, 2 area rugs with urine treatment, Master Bedroom, Steps and Hall and 2 Bedrooms - All for $155.00, a very good deal! We noted on the receipt and explained to the Member that these spots and stains are permanent stains. No matter how many times the carpets are cleaned and treated and whomever you hire to clean it- these spots/stains will not come out. They are permanent- meaning nothing will take it out unless you change the carpet or patch it. The Member knows this from the very beginning and gave us permission to try to get them out. There comes a point where carpets with spots and stains such as these on the Members' carpet are beyond cleaning. In addition, it is now October 2011, why is the Member stating this claim 6 months later? Since we know these are permament stains, there is no other alternative solution we could offer to this Member, other than what we have given them - a very good price and our expertise to get their carpets cleaned under these conditions. Re-cleaning the carpet for the Member will not solve the issue- these spots/stains are permanent. Are we unreasonable to claim this point?

very easy. Ron wAs punctual for his estimate. I easily scheduled a day the next week for the work to be done. The carpets look far better than when I used another company a few years ago. The grout in my kitchen was much dirtier than I thought. Looks great. The team cleaned our area rugs in the hall for free because it was raining and their hoses brought in some dirt. Nice service.

I began the process by contacting via email 3 top rated carpet cleaning on Angie's List around 08/07/2011: communicating to each the square footage of each room and number of stairs to clean. I indicated that I would like the work done on the week of 08/15/2011 and provided my phone number for an additional contact method. I only received one response to my messages: Pro-Clean. They contacted us by Phone and provided a quote. We called them back to confirm the price and set a date of Tuesday (08/16/2011) to perform the work. On that day, they called 1/2 hour before arriving to confirm that they were coming. The were efficient in their work and pleasant in their manner. They did an excellent job. We will definitely consider contacting them again for additional work.

We hire proclean to clean our condo after we have moved out. The estimate was a bit higher that I was told but the service was excellent. It certainly worth every pennies! The overall experience was great. The price was very reasonable! The carpet cleaner called to let me know the approximate time of arrival, and again to let me know he was on the way. I had lifted all small items off the floor. He and his partner asked if I wanted large items moved (which I did not want). It had been a very long time since I had all my carpets cleaned. They really did a great job getting the carpets clean. They look and smell 100% better. I was very pleased that the carpets were NOT soaked, and within 6 hours the carpets were practically dry!! I would recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I had 3 bedrooms, living-dining room, den, family room, steps and landing (whole house) carpet cleaned. The price was great! The carpet cleaner called to let me know the approximate time of arrival, and again to let me know he was on the way. I had lifted all small items off the floor. He and his partner asked if I wanted large items moved (which I did not want). It had been a long time since I had had the all my carpets cleaned. They really did a great job getting the carpets clean. I was very pleased that the carpets were not soaked, and within 6 hours the carpets were pratically dry. I would recommend this company and will definitely use them again for future carpet cleaning!

Ron came out and gave us an estimate. We called him a few days later and told him we would like to have them do the job. We set it up for Monday, May23th. Ron called in the morning to say his men would be out between 1 and 3pm. They arrived at 1:45pm. They told us how they would stretch the carpet and in what areas. We left them to do the job. After stretching it, we were asked if it was to our satisfaction? We said yes and then they cleaned the carpet. This job included a hall, dinning room and living room. The gentlemen were professional, polite and worked quickly to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: We had our carpet stretched and cleaned.

In my previous report, I reflected irritation with the serviceman's attitude. I should have reported this directly to the office. Instead, I filed my previous report. Shortly after, I received a call from ProClean asking to make all right. A different serviceman came and worked diligently to clean the offending spots. The desire to see that we were completely satisfied was repeatedly expressed. I rather regret filing the previous report before giving the management an opportunity to respond. I will use these reports more judiciously in the future.
Description of Work: Spots in the carpet, left when furniture legs had rested without protection on newly cleaned and damp carpet, were removed. Application of some special agents and a hot iron over a towel did the job.

They arrived as scheduled and were very professional. The estimate given to me on the phone was reasonable and matched what I was charged. My furniture was purchased in 2006 and I have a 3 year old and 1year old. The furniture had never been professionally cleaned. The technicians who came explained that microfiber is a harder fabric to get stains out of but they would do their best...and they did. Most of the marks came out and I wasn't expecting all of them to come out. The drying time was a little longer than I expected (closer to 4-5 hours rather than 3-4 hours) but we could sit on the furniture by the time my husband got home after work. They were quick, thorough, and cleaned up any mess that was made from the machines.
Description of Work: Pro-Clean came out to clean my large microfiber couch, chair & a half and large ottoman.

On 9 April 2011 a full cup of coffee with cream was spilled on an upholstered chair and carpet. Called Pro-Clean on Monday, 11 April 2011. Explained what happened. Was told their technician would call me on 12 April 2011 between 8:30 am - 9:00 am to set-up the appointment. Received a phone call from Dan right on time. Appointment was made for that day between 12 noon and 2 pm. Received a call from Dan saying he was running late because previous appointment took longer than expected. Dan was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. The entire appointment took about forty minutes. It couldn't have gone smoother. Would definitely call this company again. I was impressed that ALL the information that I gave the receptionist was given to Dan before I spoke to him. Also, the receptionist was polite and asked for any information that I did NOT supply. In my opinion, I received 5 star Service from the phone call I made to Pro-Clean to the work done by Dan. I had no clean-up to do after Dan left my house.
Description of Work: Upholstered chair, arm rest cover, pillow and carpet were cleaned and deodorized.
