+ -1 moreWe were impressed from the beginning when the salesman came to give us a quote and offering for us to visit their office/plant to see samples - friendly and informative. The office personnel were also very amicable and knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with in trying to decide color and style. Everything went quickly from the date of the quote to the installation. Can't beat the quality and total pricing for all items quoted and installed. Would definitely recommended this company to others. We are very pleased with the quality of products available (Haas Door and Liftmaster opener) and the work performed by just the one gentleman. He was on time for the work and did it quickly but properly - not ship-shod or sloppy - and cleaned up afterwards.
Description of Work: We contacted Homenik Door Company for a quote on a new garage door and opener (with keyless entry system) for our 2 car garage. This was based on the recommendation of a friend and after checking them out, along with other such companies on Better Business Bureau. I also ran BBB ratings on the products that were offered by the various companies and found that Homenik offered the best quality items from the door itself (Hass Door) to the openers they preferred using (Liftmaster).

+ -1 moreIt went very well. On Friday morning of July 20, 2012 my garage-door opener problems as described above started. I called Homenik Door at about 9:30 AM and was told that they could send a repairman out within an hour or so. About an hour later Victor arrived at my townhouse. Unlike the last time I reported on Homenik Door (see my Angie’s List report on Homenik on August 5, 2010) there were absolutely no problems with responsiveness and punctuality. Victor was courteous, professional, and went right to work. In a relatively short time he completed all of the work described above and even took some time to explain the pros and cons of present-day garage-door openers. Since mine is now 20 years old it is probably near the end of its life and I’ll need to have a new garage-door opener installed in the near future.
Description of Work: A little background information first… The garage door opener for my single-car garage was installed by Homenik Door about 20 years ago in 1992. After all these years I only had one working garage-door opener transmitter left. As a consequence I ordered two new original-manufacturer transmitters online so that I would have three working transmitters. I ran into problems setting up the new transmitters to work with my garage-door opener. Also in the process of doing this I did something wrong and my one and only transmitter would no longer work the garage-door opener. So my garage door would only open manually, and with great difficulty. The garage-door opener was rendered useless. The repairman from Homenik Door, Victor, solved all of my garage-door opener problems and then some. He set the “code” for the two new garage-door opener transmitters and also got my original transmitter working again. This then gave me three working garage-door opener transmitters. I also have a keypad at the entrance to my garage (see picture) that allows me to operate the garage-door opener without needing to use a transmitter. I enter a password into the keypad and the garage-door opener opens or closes the garage door. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked for some time. Victor put a new battery into the keypad and cleaned the keypad’s electrical contacts. Now my keypad works so that when I am working outside I can use the keypad to open and close my garage door. Victor also did some minor work on the garage door itself. He lubricated it and tightened a number of bolts on the door that were loose.

+ -1 moreve the opener or the panel replaced. He put on a new bracket. He asked me how many garage door remotes I needed and was able to give them to me right on the spot. He showed me how to do the greasing of the door and how many times to do it. Within 45 minutes the job was complete with a fully functioning door and working remotes. The experience was excellant. They were able to save me hundreds of dollar.
Description of Work: I just recently purchased my home. The keyless pad, and remotes did not work. I went with the company that installed the garage door. They told me that it would be cheaper to replace the garage door opener than it was to replace the individual componets. The bracket that attached the garage door opener was pulling away from the door only one screw. Again I was told that I would have to replace the opener and the top panel of the door. I called this company in the morning and told them what my problem was. They told me that they would have to send a technican out to look at my door. She gave me an appropriate cost of what it would be to have this work done. Within 30 to 45 minutes the technican was knocking at my door. He came in and tested everything and told me that I didn't need to ha

+ -1 morePrior owner did not leave their garage door opener remotes. I called Precision Doors as they had installed the existing opener and they would not just sell me 2 new openers, they shared their opener is custom and proprietary only to their company and wanted to charge me $$$ just to come out and identify the model and then charge more $$$ to sell me remotes. I called up Homenik and via the phone they guided me thru the process of figuring out that my opener was a Marantec model (NOT PDS proprietary), they did not have the remotes I needed but gave me Marantec's phone number, and I was able to order them for an appropriate price and set it up myself. Their youtube video was simple. I really appreciated the phone staff at Homenik and when my current door needs to be replaced Homenik will be the first and last place I will be shopping.

+ -1 moreWe called Homenick when our old garage door collapsed and wouldn't open anymore. They came right out, did an estimate while I was at work and called me that same morning to discuss options. Offered valuable advice on specifying the right kind of door for our ancient, detached garage. Worked with me to get the right style/color. Install was timley, and t they worked hard to install the door correctly, despite the fact our garage is old and not standardized in size or leveling. Everyone at Homenik was friendly, professional and helpful. I had used other garage door companies in the past, but from this point forward, I only will call Homenik door.

+ -1 moreI was having issues with my garage door not closing or opening all the way (intermittent issue). I called for service. They came out and the issue did not occur. The door was serviced (lube/grease). They informed me that I should WD40 the rollers 4X/year. They also informed me that they have a guarantee in case my issue reoccurred. During the initial visit, I inquired about a keypad. They were able to install. This worked out great due to the minimum service charge. The issue wasn't fixed. They came out again and were able to recreate it. It was a bad board in my opener, it was replaced. They called and let me know that my openers wouldn't work and that they would need to be reprogrammed. I haven't had any issues since.

The garage door sectional replacement was installed and fit correctly; but the individual sectional panels were off. The garage door looked bad. Mistakes happen; we are human. What distinguished Homenik Door and what speaks to their integrity and professionalism is how Homenik Door addressed and prompty resolved the problem. I called the estimator; he came out, looked at the door and immediaty acknowledegd and recognzed the problem. A replacement was ordered and installed as quickly as possible. Problem resolved. How a business deals with problems is revealing of the integrity, customer service and professionalism of management, estimator, worker and installer. Very high marks to Homenik Door.

Description of Work: I called Homenik after another Angie-recommended provider had told me the garage door was unfixable unless I wanted to pay $1200 for a new installation with replacement of the door tracks and rollers. Homenik came, greased the screw with a non-drying grease, lubricated otherwise, tightened screws, and the door is good as new. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Description of Work: Snow and wind had derailed my garage door leaving it partially open and (for me) immovable. A cable had come loose on one side, the door had fallen off the tracks in multiple places, bars were bent, it was just a mess. In minutes he had it operable...in minutes more he had it running the best it has ever worked for us. He also identified a safety issue (lack of stable anchoring) and took care of that as well!
