Central Ohio Garage Door

I called this company and explained that I had a garage door that would not open all the way and that I needed 2 new remotes. Bruce asked me some questions in order to get a feel for what my issue might be and then agreed to work me in the next day, which was fabulous! He arrived in the scheduled window as promised and went right to work tweaking and adjusting with obvious skill---it is really a pleasure to be around someone who knows their craft so well! Within less than 15 minutes he had the door working as it should and 2 new remotes in my hand as well as providing me with his honest opinion about the long-term life of my door and opener and his advice and estimate of cost for what he recommended. There was no pressure and these were definitely things on my mind as the door and entire apparatus are obviously aged and suffering in ways that repair can not fix. It has been 2 weeks since the adjustments were made and everything continues to work flawlessly. I know that the day will come that I will need to replace everything and I am happy to have found (on the first try) an expert in the field that I can call on for this work or any maintenance along the way. Bruce was awesome!---you should call him if you need garage door repair or a new garage door; I certainly will be!

The replacement of the spring and the installation of the new opener went well. Bruce and Charles were very nice and easy to work with. I would have given them all high ratings. BUT by not showing up as promised AND by not calling to reschedule AND by not returning my calls, I felt compelled to give the ratings I did. In my mind, service AFTER THE SALE is just as important and carries the same weight as service before any money trades hands.

Excellent. Charles arrived on time and completed the work promptly. He was very friendly and courteous. His work was excellent; a true professional. His 15 years of experience was readily apparent. If we have any garage door needs in the future we will definitely use Central Ohio Garage Doors and ask for Charles. Thank you!

It was good. I just don't remember having any problem with them. So, it must have been good. But not good enough for me to use again because I have not gone back to them. The price was fine. You can't beat that price and I believe they were punctual.

They did the all that was in the deal I purchased as simple maintenance/inspection, but I had a questions about a very noisy sound the door was making. They quickly figured out that one of the panels had a bend in it which will eventually break. They were looking to see if they could just replace the one panel, when the one of the crew noticed there were 2 support beams on the door. They said they could move that beam, give extra support to the panel, it would still support the door no problem. They did tell me that the panel will still eventually break but this would buy me some time. It's been almost a year and we are still good with a quick fix that didn't cost me any extra. I say thank you to that!

Special included new rollers. Did not install new rollers. said they weren't needed.

I guess I thought the call was $49, but he made some other explanation and he had to change some parts and it ended up being quite a bit more, that was the only thing. Otherwise, they got the job done and they did it quickly.

They were very good and quick! There were no additional fees.

The provider responded quickly, and we had our replacement in a couple of days. The service took a little over an hour. We are extremely happy with our new and very quiet garage door opener.

The service went well. They were about 45 minutes late and didn't call to warn me about that until after the scheduled time.

The main door spring broke we called and he came and fixed it took no time at all

We were having some trouble with the operators on our garage doors. They came out and were able to get everything working properly again. They did a wonderful job.

Bruce has done work for me a number of times. The latest was replacing a broken spring and door opener on one of my garage doors. He has always been very responsive and gets the job done quickly. When you car is stuck in the garage because of a broken spring, you really appreciate a quick response. The first time I used him he got me out within an hour and half or two hours. I think the cost for his services are reasonable for the industry. Would definitely use him again.

I purchased the coupon but did not hear by email or phone from the company. I responded to an Angie's list email asking if I had been contacted and answered "no" assuming I would be contacted then from the company but I was not. The company may not be at fault as I suspect the problem I had did not match well with the service that they offered. Nonetheless it would've been nice to have heard from them.

He did an awesome job. He showed up early and went straight to work. He looked at an issue I was having with the key pad code and fixed it without charging extra. I would definitely use them again.

They were excellent. They were very good. They came in and got it done. I thought they were very professional. It was a good experience. It was all reasonably priced. They basically just did what they had to and I thought that was a fair price. They were good and honest I thought.

Background on the pricing: Back in February, I'd bought a discount package through another discounter for Central Ohio Garage Doors to provide rollers and lubing for $99. I hadn't yet redeemed it. Present day: my garage door smashes down on the back of my car. When I try to use the garage door remote to lift it off the back of my car, it responds by cheerily crashing down again and again. I give up and just drive out from under it. The garage door mysteriously resumes working for another two days, until....it stops. It refuses to budge for my son, then opens a bit, then opens all the way, then crashes down like something from Indiana Jones. Now I'm scared. I pick my husband up from the airport an hour later and tell him what's up. Next, I call Central Ohio Garage Doors, hoping they're willing to help. I explain the situation. They say that it might be the springs, and say that they can come out tomorrow to free my husband's car (yay!) but that there would be an upcharge because it would be a more expensive process due to different labor and different parts. I totally agreed. The technician was very polite, calling twenty minutes ahead of time to confirm we'd be there. He made sure we were ok with him coming through the house to get into the garage, and asked if it was okay to pet our dog before doing so (which was sweet of him). He diagnosed the problem immediately: it wasn't a spring at all. Rather, a side-locking device had been jarred into place over years and years of up and down motion of the door, and was impeding the track. Usually, proper maintenance by a garage door company installing a door or maintaining lube/chains/remotes ensures that the lock would have been secured away from the track, keeping it from causing this problem. Unfortunately, as my husband and I have become all too aware, the prior (original!) homeowners were either too ignorant to perform maintenance at all, too cheap to hire quality home improvement professionals, and/or content to do/authorize slipshod work out of sheer laziness. Therefore, the creaking we have noticed since we first bought the home less than three years ago, which the owners attributed to the age of the garage door's tracks and springs and the heaviness of the redwood door, was actually a byproduct of their own craptasticness. Enough of them, though. The technician removed the lock from the track and was able to get the door back into the groove. It started working properly and responding to the remote instantly. He then lubed the track and chains and lubed the other track and chains, too. He screwed the lock in place so that it wouldn't trap us again. He also inspected the springs, motor, and chains before informing us that we had lifetime equipment and likely would not ever need to have new springs. He said that the motor still sounded good, too, despite a lifetime (!) of no maintenance. Considering the house had been built in 1988, that seemed mighty impressive to me. He didn't say whether or not it was the original motor, and frankly I was too irked to ask. We gave the tech a snap of the discounted purchase for $99, and that was that: he asked us if he could put up a sticker for Central Ohio Garage Doors inside our garage for emergency use, to which we gladly consented, and was on his way less than 20 minutes later. No money out of pocket, but lots of information gained. What a great visit!

My experience was good. Scheduling was fine. There was one technician here doing the work. I still need to call them back since the garage door now makes a jerk when it first gets started. It did not make that before they came.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List for a garage door tuneup. My garage door had never had any type of maintenance since I bought my house six years ago and it was squeaking when opened. The man who came out to do it also showed me how to spray WD40 on the door hinges and told me to do it twice yearly. He was very friendly and professional. I didn't need any additional work done and the door no longer squeaks. I would definitely call them again if I needed any repair work done.

Central Ohio Garage Doors was very responsive in providing an estimate of work and the cost was very reasonable. They performed the work and did a fantastic job. Everyone was pleasant and I would highly recommend them.

Great. Did exactly what the Angies List deal stated. We recently bought the house and the servicemen gave me information on the door and the quality of it. They let me know I would need a new doe for a long time. They lubed the tracks and made the appropriate adjustments on the opener I recently installed.

He was nice to work with. I didn’t notice any difference of the garage door being any quieter after he left.

He responded right away, did the work promptly and did a great job.

He was punctual and considerate and showed me all the in's and out's of the door and made sure I knew how to operate.
