From Bill Higham's first visit, to the finishing touches, everything went smoothly. The old vinyl didn't really have to be removed, but they did it anyway. The floor was very uneven, and they went the extra mile to make sure it was level. The new floor looks fabulous. Higham always shows up when they say they will. They do what they promise. Their work is top notch. And they answer their phone (a rarity in the world of contractors).

Everything went smoothly during the tear off of the old materials, the building of the new framing and the installation of the new composite posts and deck. It was at that point that we noticed that the new grill bump-out was smaller than the grill. On their next visit they reframed and refaced the bump-out to make it larger. Problem solved. The rest of the process went without a hitch. The deck looks terrific. Higham shows up when they say they will. They do the job they promise to do. And they answer the phone when you call (something rare in the world of contractors).

They did an excellent job, and I would rate them highly because of that. I would use them in the future, if necessary.

Bill arrived on time and finished the work within 2 days. Very professional.

Everything went very well and I'd hire them again in the future and recommend them to others. They were easy to get along with and they did what we expected them to do.

He is excellent. All the work he did was very good. We got three names from Angie's List and his was by far the lowest estimate. He was responsive, he showed up on time and he did exactly what he said he would.

Very polite and informative. Was on time as agreed upon. Work was a small project but he reinforced that this was just as important as a large project. Finished project as predicted. Used wood from old railing as I requested and made deck look very nice.

The project went smoothly, even with some city building code issues (not Higham's fault) to deal with.

Bill was a great person to work with, down to earth, like a good neighbor. He listened to our needs, and answered any questions or concerns we had. Our new deck is beautiful, and I know we chose the right guy, with Bill. THANK YOU!!!!

They arrived on-time to do the work asked of them. The quality of their work was excellent. I would definitely use them in the future. They were very professional while the worked. They cleaned up after themselves.

Bill did a great job. He was very professional and knowledgeable about decking and was very willing to work with us on the design of our deck. He pulled the permit and within a week was out digging the post holes. A day after the city inspection the posts, framing and trex base were complete. A few days later the vinyl rails were installed. He even fixed a rail cap problem on our front porch for no charge. We were very happy with the end result and the deck is beautiful. We were also very pleased in how quickly Bill scheduled the job.

I was very disappointed with this outcome, especially because the company was recommended on the manufacturer's website. I know that I contacted them during the busy season, but I think that not returning messages is so unprofessional.

It was a smooth, enjoyable process. It took much longer than we had hoped but I believe that was due to factors out of Bill's control including weather and availability of products. The workers were professional and swift. Bill himself is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. We are thrilled with our deck and people are highly complimentary. It is unique and high-end. One neighbor called it "pristine" and "glamorous." Bill was willing to work within our budget constraints, a quality we did not find in any other company.

I liked everything about them. They were very professional, they did a good job, and did a wonderful job of cleaning up. When the workmen were there they were very pleasant. It took them a couple of days to get it done, because when they took the floor off they had to replace the joists underneath. I was very satisfied with them. Mr. Higham recommended that I didn't paint it right away, because it had a primer on it and wouldn't stay on as well as if I had it done in the spring. I was glad to have him advise me on those kinds of things as well.

I CALLED HIM BACK BECAUSE HE USED A NEW MATERIAL THAT NEEDED NEW SUPPORTS, HE INSTALLED THE SUPPORTS, SAID HE WOULD COME BACK TO CHECK THE SUPPORTS BUT HE NEVER DID. NOW HE WON'T RETURN MY CALLS. ALSO DIDN'T PUT AS MUCH GRAVEL UNDERNEATH AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED BUT OTHERWISE I THOUGHT HE WAS GOOD.

KEPT GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. FINALLY, FAILED TO SHOW UP FOR SCHEDULED ESTIMATE.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE VERY GOOD. I HAD USED HIGHAM CONSTRUCTION AT MY PREVIOUS HOME TO REMOVE AN OLD DECK AND BUILD A NEW ONE AND WAS VERY SATISFIED BOTH TIMES. PRICE WAS THE ONLY ITEM THAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER ON MY MOST RECENT JOB, BUT IN THE END I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK COMPLETED.

WE FOUND HIGHAM CONSTRUCTION THROUGH ANGIE S LIST, AND WERE THOROUGHLY PLEASED WITH THE ENTIRE DECK-BUILDING PROCESS. IN SHORT, THE WORK WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY, QUICKLY, AND ON SCHEDULE. THE ESTIMATED COST WAS FAIR AND ACCURATE NO HIDDEN OR ADDITIONAL CHARGES. OUR TOTAL COST WAS $8,619. BILL HIGHAM PROVIDED INITIAL DESIGN SUGGESTIONS. TOGETHER WE TWEAKED THEM A BIT TO CREATE AN OUTDOOR LIVING AREA THAT COMPLIMENTS AND ENHANCES OUR NEWLY BUILT HOME. OUR 300-SQUARE-FOOT DECK IS CONSTRUCTED OF WEATHERBEST MATERIAL (COMPOSITE DECKING) WHICH PROVIDES THE LOOK OF WOOD WITHOUT THE LABOR AND EXPENSE OF ANNUAL MAINTENANCE TREATMENTS AND UPKEEP. ADJUSTMENTS TO THE DECK WERE REQUIRED AFTER OUR LAWN WAS INSTALLED, AND THEY WERE MADE WITHOUT ANY HASSLES. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH TRADESMEN WHO CARE AS MUCH ABOUT THEIR WORK AS BILL AND HIS CREW DO.

FROM THE VERY FIRST PHONE CALL, I FOUND BILL HIGHAM TO BE EXTRAORDINARILY RESPONSIVE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE HELPED US DESIGN THE DECK THAT WOULD BE RIGHT FOR US, AND WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ALL OF THE PROS AND CONS OF THE TREX SYSTEM. HE DID SOME REARRANGING TO ADJUST TO OUR AGGRESSIVE TIME SCHEDULE, AND WAS PROMPT AND COURTEOUS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE PROCESS. HE EVEN RECOMMENDED A GREAT FAUX WROUGHT IRON SPINDLE SYSTEM. BILL AND HIS CO-WORKERS SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR THEIR WORK AS EVERYTHING TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY. THEY ARE AN HONEST, FRIENDLY TEAM AND I EVEN ASKED FOR ADDITIONAL WORK TO BE DONE BUILDING STORAGE SHELVES IN MY BASEMENT. COMPARED TO OTHER QUOTES I RECEIVED, THEY WERE VERY REASONABLE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM WITHOUT HESITATION. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN BILL ASKED FOR FINAL PAYMENT AND HE PASSED A DISCOUNT ON TO ME, BECAUSE HE WAS ABLE TO BUY THE SPINDLES IN BULK FOR A BETTER PRICE. DEFINITELY NOT SOMETHING MOST OTHER CONTRACTORS WOULD CONSIDER. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

THIS COMPANY WAS VERY PUNCTUAL, STARTING WITH THE FIRST MEETING. THEY GUARANTEE THEIR WORK. THEY ALSO GAVE GREAT SUGGESTIONS FOR USING ALUMINUM BALISTERS.

THE OWNER, BILL HIGHAM, AND HIS CREW ARRIVED PROMPTLY AT 8:00 EACH MORNING AND, DESPITE THE HEAT, COMPLETED THE PROJECT IN 3 DAYS (WHICH INCLUDED TEARING DOWN THE EXISTING DECK FLOOR AND RAILS. BILL WORKED HARD EACH DAY ALONG SIDE HIS CREW. OVERALL WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE COMPARED TO THE OTHER 2 ''BALLPARK'' ESTIMATES WE RECEIVED. THE FINAL INVOICE WAS EXACTLY WHAT WAS QUOTED-NO SURPRISES. BILL AND HIS CREW WERE ALL VERY COURTEOUS AND EASY TO WORK WITH. THEY WERE VERY NEAT AND ALL THE DEBRIS FROM THE OLD DECK WAS REMOVED WITHIN 24 HOURS. THERE ARE 2 VERY MINOR PROBLEMS WHICH NEED TO BE CORRECTED. THE RESPONSIVENESS SCORE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ''A'' HOWEVER BILL WAS SUPPOSED TO COME BACK OUT TO CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS AND DISCUSS BUILDING BENCHES AND WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM YET (IT HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY OVER A WEEK). AGAIN, OVERALL WE ARE PLEASED AND WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND/OR USE THEM AGAIN.

WORKERS WERE ALWAYS ON TIME, COURTEOUS, AND WORKED SPECIFIED HOURS UNTIL COMPLETION. THEY WERE THOROUGH AND ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS. VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY.

HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, DID QUALITY WORK AND WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE.

BILL AND HIS CREW WERE ALWAYS ON TIME. THE PRICE WAS GREAT. ALL HIS WORKERS WERE GREAT AND KEPT EVERYTHING NEAT. JOB TURNED OUT WONDERFUL.
