Initially hired to do a chimney sweep (recommended by the furnace service person) with the idea of also getting an estimate for chimney repairs, but Thompson Masonry determined the chimney sweep wasn't needed. The prepaid cost of the sweeps was applied to the cost of repair (otherwise they were willing to refund my money). The repair took one day and then they returned to install the rain caps. I'm very satisfied with their work.

It was a good experience from a prompt arrival to detailed description of the key I was missing and how i should light the fireplace when I had a key. Thankfully the fireplace is in good working order which is what I needed to know.

I called and left messages three times before receiving a return call to schedule service. The service was to be performed on 3 December, between 12 and 4 pm. On Friday, 30 November I received a call stating that they could not come that day, and needed to reschedule. I work full time and had already made arrangements to be home on the third. Service was then scheduled for 17 December, no time given. On the morning of the 17th at approximately 9 am I called to confirm they would be here, was told yes after 12, and they would call at least a half hour to hour prior to arrival. At 1140 I was called (while away from home) and he said he would be at the house within 20 minutes. The service itself was performed well.

The men were prompt and professional. They went about their tasks in an organized manner and left no dirt or residue in the fireplace area. I felt the repair recommendations were accurate and the proposal for the work was reasonable . I plan to use this company to complete the recommended repairs.

Contractor came on time, laid down carpet protection and swept through chimney. Once finished contractor informed me I needed to caulk a certain spot with heat resistant caulk. Man was courteous and rprofessional

they came over and cleaned my chimneys. i wish they had tools with them to fix the flaws that they found in the masonry. but maybe that was too much to expect.

We recently bought a 16 year old home and wanted to get a good idea of the integrity of the chimney. The serviceman was very cordial and used tarps/drop cloths to protect the flooring and surrounding area. He wore shoe covers to not track dirt into the house which I very much appreciated. That's going the extra mile. He cleaned out the debris in the fireplace and did a visual and camera assisted inspection of the interior of the chimney. He did not go onto the roof to inspect the exterior above the roof line nor the cap. He suggested we not burn wood with the glass doors closed on the insert but there is a fan. I'm not sure of the specific type of insert we have. He explained the gas lighting procedure and said everything looked good. The reason I graded a "B" is because the condition report does not have any comments on the condition of the chimney either way. When I called to verify, the person on the phone said nothing will be written if the chimney looks good. I was expecting a stamp of approval or a pass or something on the report. Maybe that isn't done in the state of Ohio. I lived in NY for 9 years and had our chimney inspected annually and always got a report saying the chimney passed inspection. It was great to pass that onto the new owners. Not sure if the exterior masonry was inspected.

I purchased a "big deal" for a chimney sweep for our wood burning fireplace. The gentleman who came out to perform the service was punctual and polite. He put down mats from the front door to the chimney and carefully avoided tracking soot anywhere. The cleaning and inspection went well and I was very pleased with the results. I will use this company again this year for my annual service.

D.M.Mr. Thompson arrived on time with a huge vacuum cleaner that kept all the soot and ashes contained. I didn't have to move anything in the room, except for a few small items right in front of the fireplace. When he was gone, I found no trace of ash or soot anywhere. The entire job took only 30-40 minutes. I was impressed with the speed and efficiency of his work, and with his cheerful and respectful manner.

Arrived on time and set up around the fireplace. We had just had new hardwood floors installed and were getting ready to have our fireplace tiled, so we wanted to make sure everything in the chimney was up to par. There was no mess on the new flooring and he cleaned up the tile on existing fireplace. Great job and very neat.

After the purchase, I called the contractor to set up the time. The contractor came to perform the service right on-time. Service was fast and professional. After the service, contractor explained to me what had been performed and his recommendation. I am very satisfied.

the day after I purchased the chimney cleaning package, I was contacted by the company to schedule an appointment. They arrived when scheduled and finished the service as planned. During the first conversation, I asked them for an estimate for additional work (installing a chimney cap.) They provided the estimate on the promised timing, and promptly scheduled the work after I accepted the estimate. The work was completed on time and for the estimated amount. I am very happy with their responsiveness and their service.

In April 2012 we had D. M. Thompson clean our chimney, which he did very satisfactorily for a good price. While sweeping the chimney, he noticed some holes and gaps around the fireplace lintel and gave us a proposal for repairing same. We later had him do this repair work, which was likewise done efficiently and well. Even though several months had passed since he gave us the proposal, he honored his original quotation of $245.00. We are very satisfied with Mr. Thompson's work and recommend him highly.

We had a great experience with this company. The guy and his assistant were there on time, they were friendly and seemed very efficient. They cleaned the fireplace and chimney and thoroughly inspected the masonry. We got a complete report and they answered all our questions. We've had some ventilation issues and they assured us it was not a structural issue, then made suggestions how this could be inexpensively remedied. This was one of the Big Deals and we really feel like we got a great deal. We'll use D.M. Thompson in the future.

The crew that showed up were on time although I was not! I was running late and missed a call from the gentlemen once they were on site. After I arrived , they came in, got to work and provided me with a detailed report which indicated that at some point there had been a chimney fire! They showed me the damage and provided an estimate for my insurance company. The best money that I have spent in quite a while...now I have a clean chimney and peace of mind!

I felt the job went smoothly, but I don't think the chimney got as clean as a top-down sweep would have done. Since the fireplace is no longer in use as a wood-burning fireplace (gas insert was installed this past summer) the quality of the service is mute. I always thought it was standard to do a full inspection in order to complete a fireplace chimney cleaning service for safety.

I had no trouble scheduling the appointment. This company was very easy to work with.

They did a great job. They cleaned it from the inside and did not leave a mess anywhere.
