Landscapes By Terra, Inc

We have used Terra two years for mowing service on a sloped lot with extensive landscaping. They have always done a first rate job and worked hard this last year to get a final cut done after the last leaf fall. I think their pricing is quite competitive and their service both on the job and in the office has always been professional.

I only engage Terra for snow removal at my home. This is the second winter I have used them. They are extremely reliable and no matter when the snow arrives, they magically appear to remove it from driveway/walkway and apply a salt-like retardant. They often arrive in wee hours to quietly ensure everything is clear in the morning.

Originally purchased this deal on Nov 6, 2013. Todd Richards contacted us the next day. Arrangements made for site visit and initial consultation the following week or so. Todd stopped by, listened to our ideas/dreams/desires/etc. Since we weren't in any hurry, we told Todd to take his time and get back to us when he had something. He called on 12/30/13 and we set an appointment for 1/7/14. Todd came to the house on 1/7, with a plan and pricing. We were VERY impressed with the plan. It included all the aspects we wanted, and a great variety of plants. Whether we will actually are able to have Terra do the work or not depends on obtaining financing for the $19,000 required. Regardless, we were impressed with the company and their ideas and would certainly recommend that they be considered by anyone planning landscape design and/or work.

Excavated to 6" depth, added gravel & fine stone, then 2-3 high of 4" Roman Stack blocks. In some places they added dirt and mulch. It took 2-3 crew members 4.5 days to complete the job.

At the end of each work day, the crew did an amazing job of cleaning the site.

I was impressed when they came out. He did say they were very busy and said they wouldn't be able to get the information to me until the first week of October. I never heard from them and I contacted Angie's List. They emailed me on October 21st. By then I thought I could get some of those plants on sale to have them put in but the selection is very limited by that time of the year. I was very disappointed that it took them two extra weeks to get ahold of me. They only did one side of the driveway. So I contacted them asking what was going on with the other side of the driveway. I decided not to go further with them. I was very disappointed in their response to me.

They removes old bush an filled in new soil planted new bushes also wine weigela , daylilily planted rose bush mulched around the flower beds remove all old debris in the back flower bed replaced with sod and mulch around bush an all the flower bed. It was so professional done. I would recommend Collin to do landscaping for anyone, I am very pleased with all the work.

Site visit was made, was to revisit at a later date due to site construction. Nothing provided as of this writing. Experience was actually very good at another location but still awaiting this one. We did have one no call, no show experience at this location as well.

Initially, they were very hard to get a hold of to set up the first date to discuss the project. Waited over a month. They said they were overloaded due to the $49 deal. Once they came out to see what we wanted & discuss our needs they did an excellent job and produced a plan with costs breakdown. We did feel their costs were high, however they did indicate a willingness to work with us on costs.

Installed plants,mulched,planted bulbs,removed unwanted plants. |It went OK though i have not been completely happy with some of the plant choices. |

They removed some dead shrubs as well as some large grasses we were tired of. They replaced with some weigelas and hydrangeas. We had some issues with the weigelas not doing well so they replaced several of them.

Collin was the project leader for this & he was here during the work & helped moved the boulders into their now positions. Everything turned out great & they cleaned up afterward & hauled away the old plants & debree.

There were a couple major issues with my interaction with this company. First off, the service was not at all timely. I purchased the Big Deal in November 2012 and I received my plans in October 2013. Now to be fair, I did not contact the company until spring, but I can say that they did not initiate any contact with me. I had to be the one to ask to get any service. Secondly, the plans that were provided were way outside the scope of work that Collin and I had discussed. The plan was drawn to convert most of my backyard to beds rather than grass which was not what I wanted. (I only expressed interest in one small corner bed as a possible addition.) We had discussed adding some more woody shrubs to existing areas and relocating some of the perennials I already had. The result is that the excessive plans are of very little use to me. I may be able to use a few plant suggestions but that's about it. Collin was very personable and engaging during his visits and seems knowledgeable and plans were delivered, but the lack of responsiveness of the company and the lack of respect for what I wanted from the plans would steer me away from recommending this company.

Fertilization, Aeration, Overseeding of lawn.

The plan was sent to me via e-mail after on site consultation. Plan was really good, but due to other unexpected financial obligations, has been postponed.

Received ideas for future landscape plans...quote to do the work seemed a bit high but I did not have any other quotes to compare it to, so perhaps that is the going rates.

Grading and drainage issues were scrutinized carefully and thoroughly in addition to the plantings. Their advice was very good and the results were greatly appreciated.

Have used Terra for years for yard maintenance, fertilization and aeration. Service is very timely and they do work according to weather condition. If weather is extremely hot, they delay treatment until the conditions are good. I truly appreciate this. Staff is very professional. I'm very pleased with my lawn and will continue with their services.

Everything went well - price was competitive with other bids and Terra submitted plans for review. Work was done in a timely and professional manner and supervisor was on site during installation.

original work was good but customer service was bad on follow ups. project started around May 10, 2013 and ended about five months later in Oct. Problems could have been handled shortly after the project began and landscaping and water feature could have been enjoyed for the summer. Water feature did not work properly, paver needed fixed, another arborvitae was requested with stake, plants needed moved and some replaced due to features on the house not being hidden as requested and plants were too small. some plants were bunched together and some plants died. They came out and looked at things that were wrong, forgot plants, stakes and brought wrong plants. Had asked over and over for someone to call to make sure we were here to approve of the problem with the water feature. All in all when the project was finished, the repairs took less than one half hour. An apology was given but responsiveness to completing the work was not done until we said we would be contacting Angie's List.

very pleased with the design, installation, and plant selection and performance. Certainly increased the curb appeal and value of the property. We are doing a second project now with a much larger project cost and are expecting great results.

We purchased an Angie's List offer for a $50 consultation and landscape design. We live in a suburb in Powell so we already have landscaping, and we were seeking some expertise for adding some landscape elements and relocating some of our existing shrubs. We shared our ideas with the designer and asked for suggestions/input/expertise. When we received the plans, there were no new recommendations beyond what we had shared, other than adding some perennials; all the ideas were simply those that we had provided to him, and we didn't require his services to put our ideas to paper. The consultant was friendly and professional and was informative about pricing and process... just low scores on creativity.

I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism. I took time off work to be home so they could assess my property, listen to my ideas and then provide me with an estimate of services. I was told they would get back with me in a week or so, and I never heard back If they didn't want the job or felt they couldn't provide the services, the least a company could do is get back with the customer. I would not recommend them.

The fertilization and treatment of shrubs has been excellent. The technician is knowledgeable and proactive. She lets me know if there is a problem and is ready to treat it. I appreciate that service. I first had annuals planted by the company in the late spring and then had them come out to design a small section of the front landscape. The annuals were to be planted in another section. They ended up overlapping into the small section that I wanted landscaped. That was not necessarily what I asked for but it looked nice. I was concerned that when the landscape was put in that I might not get my moneys worth; I was concerned about what would happen to the annuals as I did not want them to be wasted. Sure enough, when the landscape was done, I was not entirely happy as a whole flat was left (pulled out) and not planted. I am busy and can not call service people all the time to get it right. But then they called me!!! I let them know that I was not entirely happy and also needed some pruning done. I was so happy they called. But then they never came like they said they would. I did not call back. I will use a smaller provider next year for landscape help I give the Fertilization an A But I give the landscape division a C-

Great as usual. Terra has done all my landscaping and I have always been pleased. They are very professional.
