PAT'S IRRAGATION

After receiving the estimate, I had a few questions. I placed three calls to Pat over a 5 day period. I placed the calls and would allow a day of business to pass before I would call again. I could not get Pat to answer any of my calls. I placed the calls to him at different times during the day with the idea that maybe morning would be better than mid day etc. Pat never returned my call. It wasn't until after one of my neighbors asked him to call me did I hear from him. His reason seemed plausible. He was out of town at a job where cell reception was spotty. He decided to finish the job and then call everyone back. This evening 6/5/11, all of the neighbors that received estimates agreed to meet at the time and place that Pat specified so that we could get some questions answered and talk about scheduling. After a few messages being left Pat is incommunicado. The question that I am turning over in my mind is this. If this man is this bad at communication and he "wants" business...then how will he be after he has already installed my system and I have a problem? It is true that I cannot comment on the quality of the work that this man performs. But I think that this information is worth considering simply because just about anyone can install an irrigation system. But who will be there to service it if something should happen to it after installation.

Installation went ok. He said he will be back in two weeks to install rain gage and do final adjustments to the heads. 1.5 months now and he still did not show up. i kept on calling and he kept on giving me one appointment after another with no show. As of now, we are at appointment no. 5 and Pat still did not show up or even call ahead to cancel the appointment. Basically, we wait and he does not show up. Now, I am getting another company out to install the rain gage and do the final adjustments. We will not even use him for the seasonal maintanace.

I called and we set an appointment for Weds. he called back saying he would be late so we changed the appointment for Sat and I kept calling finally getting him and he forgot the apt and then wanted to reschedule I declined and he was not very nice about it.
