We used Spivey's Premier Painting this fall to complete a full exterior painting of our home (approx. 4,000 sq. feet of all wood siding). We were so impressed by Terry Spivey and his son, Aron, that we naturally reached out to them for an estimate on our interior paint job. We received 2 estimates and Terry came in nearly $500 less that the other vendor. The work was completed this week and again we could not be happier. Terry and Aron do an excellent job and are incredibly easy to work with. We feel very comfortable with them both in our home and can come and go as we need. We are again looking at another room to paint in our house and we likely won't look to obtain multiple estimates again, and rather just reach out to Terry and Aron to complete this work too. Very pleased with Spivey and would recommend them to anyone for both exterior and interior paint jobs. Thanks Terry and Aron!

I called and left a message with my details since they don't answer their phone. A couple days later, I received a text, stating "hello...our work schedule is filled up to Dec. 30th." So, not sure what is more disappointing: the fact that they are so highly rated on Angie's List, yet don't even have the professional courtesy to call you and tell you that they are not interested in your business; or the fact that I still see all of the deals that they are currently offering on the Angie's List site, that they obviously aren't capable of fulfilling?

He did careful prep work including power washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, and priming surfaces, including metal lintels above windows and doors. There was an oily stain in the concrete on the porch that I thought was permanent -- he got it clean. He put down a beautiful paint job, and made sure all was cleaned up. He took pride in his work. The entire job was done within 6 days.

Excellent working with Terry and his son Aaron. Started the job one week ahead of schedule. Great communication via texting and while on the job. Answered questions and provided suggestions throughout. Did a lot of extras including refastening and tightening some of the gutter spikes downspout straps. Also replaced the exterior flood lights and replaced two security locks on the rear doors of the patio and helped me reinstall screens on the upper level. Had other useful suggestions on projects I was working on. Used a credit card for payments and Terry and I were both on our knees in he den using his card machine where the only telephone outlet was located. Took care of any issues and had me inspect all the work.

This is our third time using Spivey's and we've been pleased with each job they've done. We first had our deck painted and siding pressure-washed, then we had the first floor, stairwell and study painted, and now the mailbox and lamp post. The work has always been completed either before or on the date promised. Terry has been very professional and prompt in communicating with us about each step of the process. We're also very happy with the results and feel that the pricing was fair. We especially appreciate the military discount.

We are very pleased with the results. They were careful to protect our wood trim and did an excellent job cutting in around window trim, shelving, etc. There were no issues in using the paint color we requested and the price included two coats where necessary. We hired Spivey for the interior after they did a great job on our deck and siding.

Mr. Spivey and his help arrived on time. He brought special cleaning solution for the power washing. They left the area clean. His price was reasonable and my husband asked Mr. Spivey back to paint all the shutters on the house. I highly recommend Mr. Spivey.

The job was done on time and results meet my expectations. They were professional, prompt and cleaned up at the end of each day. I would highly recommend.

Terry was very prompt in providing an estimate, showing up when he said he would. He also completed the work earlier than he had estimated. We were so happy with the job that he did on the exterior that we have hired him to paint the interior of our home. His pricing was competitive and he provided a military discount of 10%, which sealed the deal. We would recommend Spivey's to anyone considering having their house painted. Terry is straight forward and easy to work with. He is honest and obviously takes pride in his work.

Our experience with Terry Spivey and his son Aron was fantastic and we could not be more pleased with the outcome. Our house is entirely wood paneled and had not been re-painted or maintained (power washed) since it's construction (19 years). It was in dire need of a face lift. We worked with Terry on our decided paint color to determine just the right accent colors for the trim and door/shutters. Spivey Premier Painting took their time to execute the job in the best way possible from start to finish. Power washing with a cleaning solution, sanding, carpentry work, 2 coats of paint to all siding and trim took about 3 weeks to complete as they do not rush a job just to move on to their next appointment - which from a home owner's perspective was much appreciated! We would recommend and use Terry again without question. Our house is on the corner at an intersection so it's very visible and we cannot count how many compliments we've received from neighbors as well as people stopping by to ask about potential estimates from Spivey for work they'd like to have done. Well done Terry and Aron! We love it!

We found Terry on Angie's List last year. This is the second building he has painted for us (in addition to quite a number of smaller projects). We find Terry very professional and appreciate the heads-up that he gives us to know when he will be on-site. This year the weather played a large role in the painting of the building. Terry started the work on June 2 and was making excellent progress and was half-way done by June 11. Then the rains came. For forty days and forty nights (or so it felt). Terry moved on to indoor projects and told us that he would be back. He came back and was 75% done by the end of August. Then the heat and humidity showed up for what seemed like forever. What can you do about the weather? Final completion was September 22. The job was excellent as usual with Terry. We already have some repair work on cedar siding scheduled for the next building. Terry will make the repairs this year and paint the building next year.

I left a request on the website, and called the number on the website and left a voice mail. No one has ever attempted to get back with me. They are either out of business, or so inept at communication that they don't respond to calls. I absolutely hate it when service contractors make you chase them down to give you money. Ridiculous. UPDATE: After seeing this review, Terry reached out to me. To be fair, I didn't call back to try again. Sometimes technology fails. He claims he didn't get a message from me. So, I asked him to provide an estimate, and he promptly came out and estimated. We haven't decided to go with him yet, but will decide this week. If he gets the job and does well, I'll update this review again with more information. FINAL UPDATE: Terry and crew performed the work promptly and for a fair price. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. After the initial miscommunication (which was likely just a technical glitch), Terry was very responsive and professional. I couldn't be happier.

The condo board surprised Terry with this request when he returned to work on a large job that was delayed because of our area's "monsoons". This little job didn't faze Terry. He got the paint and finished the small job right away and then continued to work on the large job. We found Terry last year after our former contractor had to give up the large building work because of health reasons. We've had a lot of jobs for Terry this year. And we will hire Terry to paint another multi-unit building next year. He is our go-to painter.

I found Spivey's on Angie's list and based on all of the positive comments they received for the quality of their work we decided to go with them. I really didn't seek other quotes for the job so as far as the cost I don't have any comparable information to rate them on. I will say the quality of the work was exceptional and Terry and his son did an outstanding job. Terry showed up when stated to review what needed to be done and supplied us with a detailed quote when promised. I've dealt with a few contractors the last couple of years and I can say without hesitation that Terry is the most responsive and honest contractor we've met. With the quote we received a timeline of when the work would be completed and fortunately for us Terry had a last minute opening so was able to complete the work a month in advance. Exterior of our house looks great!!

Very prompt to return my initial call and responded quickly with a complete, detailed proposal. Terry and his crew were on time for the job in nice trucks and professional equipment. We were very satisfied with the painting and while working they repaired my loose pavers on the front steps and fixed my mailbox for a very fair price. The were friendly & courteous to us and my 2 dogs the whole time they were on the property. Would definitely recommend this company and would use them again.

All went well. They were very punctual in coming out for the quote and submitted the quote that day. The work was performed ahead of the quoted timeframe. All work was completed to my satisfaction.

It went great! The job was completed in a timely manner and we are very happy with the finished product. Dealing with Terry and Aaron was great and they were both very helpful, professional, nice and responded to all of our questions. They worked with us to find the correct colors we wanted and were open to suggestions when we had them. Our house, garage, front porch, front door and deck look great!

Terry Spivey is very professional and easy to work with. His proposal was very detailed and contained estimated start of work and timing of payments. He sent e-mails each day letting me know when they would be arriving. One e-mail was to tell me that they wouldn't be here because of the weather forecast. Terry also told me what they would be doing each day. We even had to devise special workarounds to paint the edges of the french doors in two rooms because of my cat (who is an escape artist). Terry instructed on what to do and when with the french doors and the door to the pump room. The work area was always neat. The work was completed in a week. That area under the deck had been the one big flaw in a very nice home. It is no longer a flaw. It looks great!

The work went very well. Terry always let us know when he would be at the site. Terry worked with the association's vice president who is difficult to please. Our VP was very pleased with the results. Terry is very professional.

They are one of a few companies that I contacted to provide an estimate for exterior painting of our home. The project has been put on hold for the time being.

We received a couple quotes and Spivey's was quite competitive; it wasn't the least expensive, but they had the best ratings and reviews, and the price difference wasn't enough to be concerned with. We had a short time frame to get the work done and they had to work around some other work we had scheduled. They were very accommodating with the schedule and got everything done in three days. The communication was good and Terry was helpful with offering suggestions and advice. In a couple instances they had to go back and redo some small areas due to the other work being done, but it was done without complaint or additional charge. The only problem I had was that there were a couple spots I expected to be spackled as part of the prep that weren't. Given that they were fitting us in between other jobs, I just chalk it up to a minor oversight. When I pointed them out and asked for them to be touched up it was done quickly and well. In the end the rooms look great and we'd have them come again.

I specifically asked the painter to match the solid stain on the front of my house. In addition he was to. Fill in bee borer holes. He filled the holes and did sand out the filler and then stained over the rough filler. The stain that he applied did not come even close to matching the current stain so the areas he stained are a complete different look. When my wife enquirer about the difference he told her it would match when dried. My house is an orange cedar color he stained it semi transparent with a milky beige. Color that was too diluted from the original solid mix the house looks horrible and all the patches stand out I have sent several messages to the owner and he will not reply or agree to come out a,d look at a fix. I asked him to match a color. The stain provided was diluted too thin by him and any professional would agree this must be fixed. He painted my living room and dining room and did something similar on the nail pops. He pointed right over the sparkling without sanding. I did not notice this. Until this week after I went back and looked deeper I have asked for no compensation just to get this work redone correctly. The contractor is blaming us for supplying the stain. But it was he who diluted and left a job that looks like transparent watercolor when the house is an obvious solid stain Now he is threatening to sue me for loss of business on a a review he earned. I wish I had been in town to review before we paid him. I just do not understand why he didn't stop when he could see that he diluted the stain too thin. Buyer be aware

Terry was very professional and courteous and did a great job painting the exterior of my home. Their pricing was very competitive and communication was excellent. They pressure washed the house in preparation for painting and used high quality paint. I highly recommend Spivey's Premier Painting and would use them again. My house looks great. Thanks Terry!

I was always appreciative of the work that Spivey's did for several reasons: 1. He wrote up the agreement in detail, including stages in the process when another payment was expected; 2. He listened to my questions and answered them thoroughly; 3. He went "above and beyond" in meeting my requests for repair--always very clear about the terms under which he could do it 4. He brought all the paint and materials needed to do the job--my only responsibility was to get the shutters I wanted to put on 5. He met the dates that he promised to do the work and he completed the work ahead of the time promised; 6. He even returned to finish putting on the shutters which were not delivered in the time he expected; 7. He and his co-worker were always personable, answering my questions and listening to my requests, responding with appropriate action in a manner that was cooperative and thorough. I would recommend Spivey's to anyone who is looking for this service. I have not one complaint or question about the work and the cooperative way it was done. Mr. Spivey proved himself to be an expert in his work and trustworthy in the way he delivered it. I would certainly call him again for this service.
