I first spoke with Mr. Spivey back in May. He came to my home and we walked around the house discussing what needed to be done. I received a proposal as stated above with a timeframe to start and a quote. I had gotten three (3) quotes and Spivey was right in the middle but I felt had provided me with a complete proposal for the services we needed. They were on time and kept in touch with us as to their schedule every day. They were professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. We got a great job and our house is beauitful again!

Terry and crew were great. Very professional.Terry first came out and gave me a detailed estimate. We walked around the entire house and discussed what should be painted and what didn't need to be. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and Terry was very helpful by providing different suggestions to get to the final plan.I did not get any other estimate as his fit in with my budget, and he has great reviews on Angie's List. He gave me a couple sets of dates, the first set being for power washing the house and other prep work, and the second set for the actual painting. He was within the range, and gave me a day's notice before arriving so I could tie back any plants in the way and move whatever away from the house.They showed up when Terry said they would and performed the task they said they would. He also kept in contact by phone and answered all my questions before and during the whole process. Terry went above and beyond in painting a couple items that weren't on the original estimate, and they even reglazed a garage door window and caulked and painted it! Talk about service!I feel that Terry really cares about his customers and takes pride in his work.I am extremely happy with Spivey's Premier Painting and will recommend this company to family and friends.

At first it was a little more than I was willing to pay. However, a few months later, I received a letter in the mail for the estimate with $50 off, and I plan to follow up with that. He is very responsive and does the communicates personally. They also gave me 10% for being an Angie's List member. They take the time to explain everything to you. They have also painted my shed. They are really good at keeping you up to date per the weather conditions to keep the quality of work high.

We signed a contract with Spivey in May 2011, two days before a hail storm came through our neighborhood and did a lot of damage. He came back and told me he should be the last contractor to work on the house, not the first, given that I was going to need new roof, gutters, siding and windows.We stayed in touch every 3 months or so, as we haggled with insurance, dealt with the other contractors that were doing the work, etc... We called him back in May 2012 to tell him we were ready for paint, but that the job had changed some as we'd removed some wood trim around the windows that no longer needed paint. He came by, adjusted his estimate down, honored our previous deposit from a year ago, and got to work. A few days later, it was all wrapped up, and the house looks good. They did good work, and he was interested in getting our feedback along the way. Every day the left they cleaned up, and no tools/equipment were left behind. Very smooth operation. We talked to some neighbors, and his pricing was generally competitive, but one neighbor with a similar house got a better price from a company that does a lot of marketing in our area. But, overall, Terry and his team did good work, and I'm willing to pay a bit more for quality.

What a fantastic find!! Probably the most positive consumer experience I've ever had....(and there have been some good ones). You can tell that Terry has figured out the key to making a business thrive.....total focus on customer satisfaction. Clean, efficient, responsive, absolute premium quality of work, all at a very reasonable price. I plan to schedule Spivey's for the next round of painting work very soon.

Spivey's Painting was one of three highly rated Angie's List providers that I had bid on the project. They came in as the lowest bid, but I also felt comfortable that Terry was going to do a high quality job. Terry was extremely accommodating on the timing of this project. In fact, he even agreed to work with our window installer not only on timing, but he painted a lot of the window materials before they were installed so that our house did not have bare wood immediately following our window installation. When it came time to power wash, prep and paint, Terry was great with communication. He even walked around the house with me twice to make sure I understood all of the work they had planned. I really appreciated that. He and his crew never rushed ANYTHING and I am extremely pleased outcome. His crew of two, including his son, were professional, courteous and very low maintenance. They cleaned up each day and from the looks of the yard and mulch beds, it was as if they were never there. Terry even power washed my front walk-way and back patio step. Upon completion of the job, we walked around the house again to ensure I was happy with everything... and I was. Terry and his crew seemed very appreciative of the business. I plan to use Spivey's painting again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone else!

Last summer my husband and I decided to finally start painting the exterior of our house which it badly needed. We chose some paint colors and decided to paint a "sample" wall to see how we liked it. We liked it so much we just kept on painting until most of the front 1st floor was painted. We only had time to do one coat before winter set in and we had to live with a two-tone house for several months. After much discussion we realized that we would not be able to finish the house ourselves. It is very large with a lot of detail and we needed some siding and windowsills repaired that we didn't feel confident doing ourselves. I found Spivey's Premier Painting on Angie's List and called them for an estimate. I was so impressed with his knowledge and mild manner and also his interest in the beauty of the house. He and his team were always on time and very quiet, I thought, for being all over the house. The only time I really heard them was when they moved a ladder. They filled in holes I didn't even know we had. They repaired all of the rotted pieces of siding, trim and windowsills and the repairs are seamless. Our house is a 1970's custom home so it has a lot of details in the trim and moulding and some tudor-like accents so that the whole house had to be brush painted. There were only a few sections that were large enough to roller and none could be sprayed. It took them about ten days start to finish with maybe five of those days dedicated to just painting. Terry, the owner, came by each day to check on the progress and answer any questions and to make sure I was happy with the results so far. They discovered that the little decorative wooden balcony on the front of the house was rotted in several places and so I negotiated a price to repair it. They removed it and took it to their shop, rebuilt it and reattached it to the house with steel "L" brackets rather than the long screws that were used before. It looks brand new. The whole house looks brand new. We have stonework on our house that was stained with mildew and rain run-off. They powerwashed the stone so it looks bright and clean. I was so happy with the stone that I asked them to also powerwash a small brick patio and a small wooden deck for me. In the end with the extra powerwashing and the unexpected balcony repair my final bill was only $200 over Terry's original estimate. I am sure that we will be enjoying this house for many years to come and now I can cross "paint the house" off my list.

After being turned down by a company in Cincinnati (he felt the distance was too far), I looked for a company closer to my home. I found Terry Spivey's company, which is located in Lebanon. Mr. Spivey came to see me, gave me an estimate and we proceeded to close in on a date convenient for me and also for him. He called the day before to check if I am still available, which I was. They came the next day, right on time, and proceeded with the prep work. The following day, they started in on the walls, and some of the trim. The third day they finished up with the kitchen and the doors. Each time before they left, everything was totally clean, which was very impressive in itself. The total time of the project took 2 1/2 days. I hired Spivey's Premier Painting now to do some other work on the outside of the house. Gertrud Allen

Terry (and helpers) were very conscientious. Was able to do this very early in spring. Quite timely. Took care to accommodate my schedule. I was pleased with the result. Terry was very pleasant to work with. Always polite and freindly. I'd use him again if the need arose.

They did a great job. They were reasonable in price and gave great advice in terms of color and what the house needed. They were ALWAYS on time and did exactly what they said they would do. They completed the job quickly....before the promised date....and were very professional. Terry's recommendations in terms of color were perfect, and he helped guide us towards decisions that met our needs without ever seeming pushy. We picked a dark color for the two entry doors and when we decided they really needed a third quote I contacted Terry. He was back out to do another quote without question or complaint within five business days. I would not hesitate to hire Spivey Painting again. It was an excellent experience. I have already recommended them to a friend and to our realtor.

Terry arrived within the time window he had quoted and took notes on what we wanted. We weren't certain which rooms we wanted to have painted since it ultimately depended on the price. Also, since we are moving out, we didn't have strong preferences on things like color, etc. Terry didn't provide many suggestions for how to best accomplish our job for the least cost. The estimate arrived within a week, as I had requested, and included an overall price with one option, despite the fact that some of the items included in the overall estimate were price-dependent for us. Ultimately, we decided to go with another contractor who gave us a detailed breakdown of cost per room, was much more forthcoming with suggestions and information on the products they use, and quoted a lower total cost.

We did not hire his company, but overall it was a pleasant experience interacting with Terry.

Terry came out and gave an estimate to repair and paint my home. He was thorough and professional.

Terry Lee Spivey returned my call quickly and was available to come to my home to do an estimate within 24 hours. He was helpful in picking a color for the woodwork that would compliment the wall color I had chosen. He also suggested painting inside my closets and laundry room to make my whole home look fresh and updated. I thought his estimate was reasonable for the amount of work I wanted done. He and his crew arrived on time every day and set right to work. I was impressed with how quickly and cleanly they worked. My walls had lots of large nail and anchor holes and these were repaired and painted so well that you would never know they had been there. The ceiling repairs in the living room were not so successful, but I think they were good considering that I wasn't having areas of dry wall replaced. The work was finished on time and I was pleased with their professionalism and service.

The job is not yet complete but so far Terry has done everything he promised. His estimate was good. His ideas helpful. He was detailed in his explanation of the work that needed to be done. He has been prompt with all replies and fixed our deck on the first day weather allowed. So far I'm extremely pleased.

Terry's crew was punctual and went right to work. The job was completed in less days than originally estimated and the crew was tidy and courteous. The paint job totally transormed my home. I would definitely recommend Terry and use his services again.

The guys did an awesome job! They are quiet, professional and super tidy. They are super fast painters and do a really neat job with painting walls which have woodwork. No paint on the woodwork or walls! I cannot say enough good about the job they do. They are punctual and polite. Terry is great about setting the time of arrival and giving you updates while the work is in progress and then doing a final walk through when the days' work is done. I want to get all my woodwork painted after I get new carpeting installed over the next few weeks. Then I plan to have Terry's crew back to make the woodwork shine like the walls! Don't hesitate to call Terry Spivey to book his crew. They do excellent work! You will NOT be disappointed in both the quality of the work performed nor the pricing provided.

The ceiling is a stamped textured ceiling and Terry and his crew did an outstanding job of repairing the spot and matching the rest of the ceiling. After they fixed it and repainted the ceiling, you can't tell where the damaged spot was. They were there when they said they would be there and completed the work quickly and efficiently. We will be having Terry back to do some additional interior painting after the first of the year.

Spivery painting did a very professional job and at a very reasonable price. We were on a time crunch due to winter weather coming up and they were out there with an estimate and the job was completed before the week was even up. Excellent work- we will definitely use them again!!

I contacted Spivey's Premier Painting, based on other Angie's List recommendations, in mid-November. We played phone tag for a couple days after my initial inquiry (the only slight downgrade), but finally got our signals straight. Terry came to our house, met with my wife, and provided an estimate on the spot. As you can imagine, this meant the estimate was not as detailed as others we recieved (i.e. broken out on a spreadsheet with schematics and measurements), but there's something to be said for 'knowing your business' well. In all honesty it was more comforting to us not needing to wait for him to enter measurements into excel, re-work the price of paint per gallon, figure in labor and finally present us with something days later. Suffice to say we contacted Spivey's a couple days later - after receiving several quotes - to begin the job. Unfortunately we experienced a medical emergency within 24-Hours of contacting them, and had to halt the project indefinitely. Terry was very understanding, and said his estimate was good until we were ready to begin. We're probably looking at re-starting our home improvement projects after the new year, and will absolutely reach out to Spivey's again at that time.

The trim on the exterior of our house was rotted and needed replacement. My husband and I were also unhappy with the style of the door trim/threshold and wanted a more modern look. Terry Spivey provided a timely and accurate estimate. After speaking with him, I was confident that his crew had the painting and carpentry skills to perform an excellent job. He assured me that he would treat my home like his own and delivered on his promise. I had three estimates in total and his was also the most reasonable. The crew that worked on our house (which included Terry himself) were very respectful. They cleaned up after themselves every day with the only evidence of their presence being the progress on the house. Terry used top-quality wood for the trim and our choice of paint. He successfully created a new, more modern trim design for our front door. The painters were very neat (no drips or spills). In the course of the work, we found Terry to be very flexible with our requests. My husband and I were originally going to paint the front door ourselves but changed our mind. We contacted Terry and he was happy to do it at a nominal expense. However, what we found most outstanding was the approach Terry and his crew took to the overall appearance of our house. They reconnected a second-story gutter that had fallen and tacked up exposed cable cords on the side of our house at no additional expense. It really made the house look finished and we could tell the crew really cared about getting every detail correct. A week after the painting and trim work was completed, we had a slight problem with the trim on the door separating (probably due to the changing temperatures). I contacted Terry on a Saturday night, not expecting him to respond until Monday or Tuesday, but was very pleased to receive a phone call the next day. His carpenter came out Monday and promptly fixed the problem. This is not the usual delay and lack of response you may get from someone who has already been paid for their work. I was very impressed and everything has been perfect since! My husband and I were very pleased with the finished work and already have estimates from Terry to do more work on the house. It was a pleasure to do business with a company whose employees take pride in their work. If you want a timely and respectful crew capable of performing heavy carpentry work or painting, who takes pride in their work and will treat your home like their own, look no further.
