Spivey's Premier Painting LLC

It went wonderfully, we had previously hired the Spivey's to paint our house 3-4 years ago and I was so impressed with how thoroughly they washed the house before they painted it (actually scrubbed the whole house siding and all) that we knew we wanted them to pressure wash the house this year because we started growing that ugly green moss or whatever it is on the siding and it was incredibly dirty mainly because we have a field behind the house that is farmed regularly so it gets pretty bad. Mr. Spivey and crew arrived at the time specified and cleaned the house it looked like a new house. Mr. Spivey pointed out the gutters had gotten stained by the new asphalt roof we had installed in October of last year and that his crew had gone over them several times but could not remove all of the dark staining. He offered to paint the gutters and downspouts for $275.00 (for me) because it is regularly $475.00 to have it done. They came out yesterday 7/21 and had the painting done within and hour so now the house looks like we had the whole thing repainted . Love this company, love Mr. Spivey and crew they are very passionate about doing a good job.

Spivey Premier Painting was very punctual and professional throughout his dealings. He completed the job timely as planned and neatly. He even fixed some nicks on the ceiling in my kitchen for no charge. We are very pleased with the work that this company did. Overall it was a nice experience, which makes life so much easier :) Thank you for that!

Good co but way out of our price range

Worked ahead of schedule. Was on time every day for the job. Spivey was the only provider that would accept my bid of work. We needed repairs on wood trim around the house and he was willing to do it. No other provider from Angies list that I contacted was willing to do this part of the work. Was very pleased and satisfied with the job done. He finished a week ahead of schedule which was good. The only complaint that I would have is they left paint chips around the house from the power wash which we had to clean up. Otherwise, they did a great job. Would recommend them!

They did an excellent job. Completed in one day and looks extermely good. Left the property in condition it was when they arrived except for paint. Great Job!

Overall they did a great job. Could not be happier. I contracted for the job in Sep 13. They sent me a letter stating that a family emergency will delay the start and stated that they would return the deposit or be the first on the list in the spring. I wanted a quality job and other reviews reinforced their quality workmanship so I decided to wait till this Spring (2014). Super glad I did. They showed up on the day they said to clean the house shortly followed by painting. The best thing is that the owner was there for the whole project. Many other painting companies turn a whole crew lose and rush to get the job done in a day. Not Spiveys. The owner and his crew of one or two trained and experienced painters took little over a week and did a great job!

I was very pleased with quality of work done

My house had not been painted for many years, and I have wood windows that really needed help. The job was done quickly, professionally and completely. Happy with the results. Mr Spivey's staff were very professional and very courteous.

Came when they said they would and received the quote within 2 working days.

The house looks amazing and we couldn't be more happy with the results. They were polite, left the property clean, and professional. They started on a Thursday, it rained Friday and they continued both Saturday and Sunday until the job was done. Would definitely recommend!

The prep work was done well and the family of painters worked well together. Spivey provides a quality and professional job. I expect that paint job will last at least 10-15 years. The painters also cleaned the higher gutters, which was a nice additional service with no additional cost.

Our home needed the exterior trim and eve painted along with around the front door a garage doors. I received three estimates and Terry Spivey came and gave us the estimate. He was very informative and thorough. His estimate was the lowest of the three and along with the bid, what won me over was the fact that Terry is a small business owner who takes great pride in doing the job correctly and not cutting corners. I also liked the fact that he has only one 4 man crew. Everything was finished exactly as described and it looks great!

Mr. Spivey came out promptly, listened carefully to what we needed to have done and gave us a clear estimate the day of his visit. This included the time frame, taking the March weather forecast into account. Spivey's was everything it was supposed to be: professional, efficient, on time, and careful. They were most pleasant to deal with and explained thoroughly what was done & why. Key details were spelled out in the contract. I phoned Spivey's Premier Painting and requested an estimate for painting the exterior of my home. Terry Spivey was very helpful in quickly scheduling an appointment to meet my needs; arriving on-time and emailing the estimate on the day he promised. Even though we have decided to take another approach (replacement vs. painting) we will consider using Terry's services in the future.

I was impressed with Terry Spivey's work ethic. You could tell right away the quality of his work was very important to him. He carefully explained what he was going to do and when he could schedule the work. All work was done carefully and they did a good job of cleaning up. He was prompt and communication was very good. I plan to use him again for a future project.

Never responded to my calls/requests

It went extremely well. First, I was afraid it was too late in the season for power washing but I contacted Mr Spivey anyway. He said it was not too late, came that afternoon to take a look at everything, provided an estimate, then arranged to do the job the next day to take advantage of the warm weather. They arrived at 10:00 as promised and finished up by 1:00, leaving everything looking fabulous. It was not an easy job because parts of the sidewalk and deck had heavy stains due to the wet weather this spring, the deck had serious stains where piles of leaves had been left too long and the stone wall had not been cleaned in several years. Now everything looks like new and I couldn't be happier.

We didn't use them, because their estimate was high. The thing that I liked was that he was prompt, and that the owner came along with the foreman, to do the estimate. He was very knowledgeable about our house. He took a lot of time with the estimation process, he explained to us about the house, and he about the logs. He took a lot of time with us, he talked about concerns, and he knew his stuff. Not every exterior painter knows about log homes, so I was pleased with his professionalism, and expertise. His estimate came in high, it was actually in the middle. I would Mr. Spivey do an estimate again, and I would recommend them, just because he knew his stuff. He followed up with email, and he answered our questions.

Excellent. No problems. Good results. As with any work such as this, time is the ultimate judge. However, I have no reason to believe there will be any issues. I have done enough painting in the past to recognize quality. They even used the solid color stain and paint I requested, including 10 gallons I had already purchased before I realized I would not have time to do the work myself. I never felt as though I had to check their work repeatedly, as is sometimes the case if a contractor does not instill some level of confidence in their customer. I would both recommend them highly, as well as use them again myself. In fact, I probably will.

My husband and I bought a house that was in a serious state of disrepair and neglect. After a disastrous interior paint job with a different company, I wanted the exterior painted by a reputable and responsible company. I got 5 quotes, and had a very difficult time deciding which company to go with. Mr. Spivey was the most expensive, $3000 higher than the next highest bid, but I honestly felt that he was the only painter that understood the level of repair (caulking, board and nail replacement) that this house was going to need. Mr Spivey was very patient with my decision making process and did not pressure me to make a decision nor did he speak badly of his competitors. When I committed to going with his company he provided a detailed explanation of the work he would complete as well as a window of when the work would be completed, depending on weather. He helped me chose a color that would match the style of the house. After signing the contract I inquired to painting the plastic trim and he added it to the existing order without delaying the timeline. He carefully matched the color of our new gutters for a seamless look. Due to being a cedar sided house and the years of neglect I cannot overstate the amount of prep work that was involved. There were countless nails that needed pounded back in or replaced, boards that needed replaced, ivy that needed removed and sanded, bee holes that needed filled. He went through an entire case of caulk. He was present at the job site every day along with his son and employees -- none of the work was subcontracted out. They were polite, diligent and tidy. When the job was almost complete he walked with us around the house and made note of any of our concerns. We were headed out of town for the weekend and upon our return found that each of the issues had been corrected without our needing to revisit any of the issues. The work was completed quicker than expected, and the results were truly amazing making a huge difference in the appearance of our house! My ONLY complaint, and it is a small one, is that the outlets were not taped over so there was some over spray on them, which I will clean up this spring. This company was excellent and easy to work with start to finish, and I am quite pleased with results. We will use and recommend them without hesitation!

I always came on times they proposed. Polite and personable always. Workers were neat, efficient, quiet and quick. I am very pleased with the results. I plan to recommend them to my sister and anyone else who might ask for recommendations.

He and is crew were also very meticulous and did their work with a great deal of pride. They did a great job on the house. No real paint overspray or paint where it shouldn't be. The color that Terry helped me pick really complimented the brick and it looks really good. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone that asked.

Spivey's Painting did an excellent job on repainting our house and garage. Mr. Spivey provided us an estimate at our initial meeting, and we felt the estimate was quite fair. He returned a second time to provide us with color choices. We paid Mr Spivey an amount up front, an amount when the job was half done, and the final amount when the job was finished. The final cost did not deviate from the estimate. He and his team were punctual and focused on providing quality service by first power washing everything and then applying 2 coats of paint, allowing for proper drying time in between coats. The total amount of time for the job was 5 days. Spivey's manually sanded and used lighter power washing on the chipping paint so paint chips did not end up on our neighbor's property. Our homes are very close together, and that was really important. Spivey's used quality materials. We cannot even tell the siding has been painted - no brush strokes. We have had neighbors compliment us on how great the house looks. One neighbor said our siding looks brand new. Mr Spivey had a couple neighbors ask for his business card. We are very pleased and will use their services again in the future.

Everything went quite well. We had some questions on the initial estimate and Terry came out and we clarified everything to our satisfaction and signed off on a written contract. Since we were going to be out of town while the work was going on, we arranged with Terry for him to contact our son to check in progress and provide periodic progress payments as we had agreed. This worked very well and when our son pointed out a few things, they were immediately taken care of. The work and materials appear to be of high quality and we are very satisfied.

He arrived and was very pleasant and professional but whoa...when we got the estimate we were shocked! We have a 2 &1/2 story brick home that needed only exteriot trim and soffit painting- a few areas needed scraping and some possible minor repair. Obviously Mr. SPivey did not want to fo the work because he provided me an absolutley ridiculous estimate of $8000+. I would have appreciated him just saying he did not want the job perhaps due to the height of the soffits etc. Subsequent contractors who have looked at the estimate agree that it was ridiculous. I wont call him again for anything.
