TruGreen - 5111

I really couldn't tell a difference in how the trees looked or were growing. As for the lawn, huge patches of my lawn started turning brown and dying after TruGreen started treating it. I watered my lawn thoroughly as often as they suggested. I used to work for a lawn company myself, and my lawn was exhibiting all of the signs of insect damage. I called them, and they came out and said there were no insects. Just two weeks later, even more areas of my lawn were dying, and I again called them to come out. This time, they said I had a lot of billbug damage. By the end of the growing season, my backyard looked a little better but was still clearly damaged. The problem now is that even though I asked for my account to be closed and they apparently closed it late last year, they won't stop calling me trying to solicit business. I even asked to be placed on their ''Do not call list.'' They then called me after 9:00 PM on a weeknight and hung up when I answered.

I used TruGreen at two different houses. The product is OK, but their sales tactics are not. When my wife decided to quit work to stay home with the kids I told TruGreen that I wanted to cancel the service. They asked why, etc. After a few rounds of "we can reduce the plan/price" they seemed to give in. However, it has been almost a year and they STILL keep calling me on my cell phone trying to sign me back up! I tell them every single time not to call me any more, I don't want it! Now I just watch for their number on my caller ID and ignore it. Please stop calling me on my cell! I have to pay for every call they make to me!

They are wonderful. We have had beautiful results and they address any problems we have immediately and our lawn is the envy of the neighborhood.

THE SERVICE IS PROMPT AND EFFICIENT. I RECEIVED A DISCOUNT BY PAYING FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON IN ADVANCE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE ADDITIONAL SERVICES THAT THEY TRY TO SELL TO YOU. SOME DON'T REALLY SEEM NECESSARY.

This service has been well worth it. The contracted work is ongoing with a set schedule of treatments. We have noticed a nice difference in our grass - greener, thicker and with less weeds. An added plus is that we do not receive annoying calls inviting us to upgrade or to add services we didn't originally request.

They over fertilized my lawn one time, but came back and re-seeded. The price is awful high, and they show up a couple of times a month, a lot more than what my contract was for I thought.

Did not hire. Quote was confusing; expensive.

Never really had a problem with Chemlawn TruGreen except for repeated sales calls that got irritating.

The expensive one was the aeration. My lawn looks amazing, what else can I say! They always call the day before they come out.

This is the second year for the service. Service was good the first year but this year, sucks. Scott's was asked to give notice before coming out due to having our gate locked. Well Scott's service calls and states they will be out on said date and wouldn't you think they would arrive to perform the service, wrong. The beginning of this years service I waited thirty days for them to arrive, that's only after I had to call them. This has happened all season. The excuse, we had an employee out that was hurt on the job. Well sorry but when you pay for a service I expect to be serviced. This has continued throughout this years contract. You can make a bet, I'm not going to be using Scott's next year. Service use to mean something to some people but not to this company. It's sad that this is the only Scott's company that you can use in the area. I've always used Scott's products for my lawn. I just thought I'd save some time with having Scott's Lawn Service to perform the job, wrong.

Trugreen Chemlawn bought out our independent company we used last year. We had more weeds and a poorer lawn this year. We had some kind of broad leave infestation, which we never had before and their representative said everyone was having that problem this year and ignored the issue instead of dealing with the problem. Then he tried to get me to spend an additional $50 to work on some leaf issue with some of the scrubs we had. He was more interested in upselling me for more work, then fixing my problems. I called and cancelled my service and when I told them why, they gave me the same story, but could not explain why their rep did not work on the problem. They also never asked me who the rep was, and then they explained they would come out and treat it for free, which was a part of their program. I asked why their rep did not offer that to me, when he looked at the problem. They had no answer, so I cancelled by service.

We've used Scott for two years. It is clear that they don't know what they're doing. Their sales staff promised us a great lawn. Our lawn suffers from bare spots, fungus, and crabgrass. Two years ago, we were told they would eliminate all three. At the end of year one, they said it had been a bad year for lawns and that we would see vast improvements at the end of year two. We're at the end of year two and nothing has changed. We still have bare spots, fungus, and crabgrass. The yard technicians say the sales staff oversell and don't really known much about yard care. Our account rep last week told us again that it was a bad year for lawns and that "there are no promises in yard maintenance". Again, he told us we would see improvements next year. Our neighbor, who maintains his own lawn, has a great looking yard. It is obvious that our neighbor (an amateur) knows what he is doing, while Scott (the pros) doesn't. We're tired of having the worst looking yard in the neighborhood!

They do a good job. I'm having problems with chickweed and they told me to wait it out which I'm currently in the process of. I'd recommend Scott's Lawn to anyone!

After several treatments the lawn turned into nothing but mud. Then the Company tried to bill me for full yard fertilization when there is no grass in the back yard. Scott's said they would reseed my lawn first thing this spring. I have called twice in the past two weeks and keep telling me that ''I am on the list''.

Had used them for many years and decided to cancel. Got aggressive sales calls offering discounts, special applications. They call late in the evening. They put bags of bugs on your doorknob telling you you need special treatments. They tried to slip in an extra treatment last fall by calling and saying that they were coming out to put down my final treatment, and I said ''OK''. A day or two later, someone from the office called to confirm the ''extra'' treatment for $35. I cancelled it. It burned me that the person who called didn't tell me it was extra, they made it sound like it was part of my plan. Very shady. My lawn always looked nice, but they are a pain to deal with.

The last time they were here they didn't fill out the form they left so I didn't know the condition of the landscape. I had to call them and find out what was going on. Usually they leave me note.

I agreed to the work, because of a special they were running. The third treatment was one third off. They also gave me a senior discount first two treatments we were not at home so we don't know what they did. The third treatment we were at home and watched the young man make one trip across our back yard and two across the front and that was it. He spent more time doing the paper work than treating our lawn. I called the company and asked what he was supposed to have done. They said the treatment was to spread fertilizer over our entire front and back lawn. I told them what happened and they said they would send someone out to redo it. We waited a month and no one ever came back out so I called the local number here in Gahanna and explained what happened and they sent someone out and redid the job. I cancelled the service.

They were hounding me for a trial offer and I went ahead and did it. They were double the price than other services. I felt like they didn't deliver what they promised. They actually gave another application without me asking and charged me!!

Cost is per visit. Sales people try to sell additional services. Last year I cancelled the landscape service, due to budget reason, but they applied the first treatment already this year, as if I didn't cancel the service. So I called again to cancel the service again. They also put the invoices on the door and I've repeatedly asked them to put them behind the storm door, so they don't blow off and get lost.

EMPLOYEES WERE POLITE, AND MADE SURE TO TELL US PERSONALLY ABOUT THE SERVICE THEY PERFORMED THAT DAY, AND ANY RESTRICTIONS. LAWN LOOKS BETTER THAN IT DID W/O THE SERVICE.

OVERALL THIS YEAR WE WEREN'T SATISFIED WITH THE WORK, BUT SCOTT'S OFFERED TO SEED THE LAWN WHERE THE CINCH BUGS THAT THEY DIDN'T DIAGNOSE KILLED OUR LAWN. WE HOPE THAT THE SEEDING DOES THE TRICK, AND WE WILL GIVE THEM ONE MORE YEAR.

I ALSO HAD A QUESTION AND MAILED IT TO THEM WITH THE BILL. A GUY CAME OUT WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AND HAD THE ANSWER AT THE DOOR.

ANALYST DESCRIBED VERY CLEARLY THE PROBLEMS, ARRIVED WHEN SCHEDULED, AND TREATMENTS HAVE OCCURRED PROMPTLY. THEY RESPONDED THE SAME DAY WITH A FOLLOWUP TREATMENT, WHEN IT WAS NOT CLEAR THAT THE FULL INSECT CONTROL HAD BEEN APPLIED THE FIRST TIME.

I THOUGHT THEY DID A BETTER JOB ON THE YARD THAN THE INSECT BARRIER SPRAYING. THEY WERE POLITE AND COURTEOUS.

WE'VE USED TRUGREEN CHEMLAWN FOR A FEW YEARS FOR LAWN AND SHRUB FERTILIZATION AND INSECT TREATMENT. THEY'RE REASONABLY PRICED IN COMPARISON TO THEIR PEERS AND DO A GOOD JOB ON THE BASIC STUFF. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY USE PARTICULARLY AGGRESSIVE SALES TECHNIQUES. WE PURCHASE THE MINIMUM PLAN ONLY ON BOTH SERVICES, AND THEY TRY HARD TO SELL ME UP EVERY YEAR BY CALLING TO ''CONFIRM'' MY SERVICE. I'VE ALSO STARTED GETTING A SECOND OPINION EVERY TIME THEY LEAVE A BAG OF BUGS ON MY DOOR OR TELL ME I NEED A SPECIAL TREATMENT. IT'S INTERESTING WHEN YOU CALL THE SALESPERSON BACK AND THEY SAY ''WELL, SOME OF THOSE SPECIES I CHECKED MAY OR MAY NOT BE PRESENT - THEY'RE NOT OBSERVABLE TO THEY EYE, BUT WE RECOMMEND TREATING THEM JUST IN CASE,'' OR WHEN YOU TELL THEM THAT THE OTHER COMPANY SAYS THE DAMAGE IS ONLY COSMETIC AND THE TRUGREEN FLYER ON THE DOOR SAID TO CALL IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR PLANTS. I'D GO WITH THE COMPANY THAT GIVES THE SECOND OPINION, BUT THEY'RE MORE EXPENSIVE :)
