Creative Finishes Painting

This company is great to work with. Nate came over and checked out the house and shed that needed painting and provided the estimate plus told us around what timeframe we would be scheduled. He told us that first he would paint a patch of the house with test samples of the paint we chose, then the house would be power washed, and then the house painted. We chose 2 different color patterns and a few days later Nate test painted the colors on a small patch of one wall. After a few days, we chose the final colors. They came out and power washed the house and about a week later they let us know they were ready to start painting. They took about 2.5 days to paint everything (house, gutters, soffit, garage door, detail molding on our woodwork around the windows, and shed). They used tarps and cleaned up afterwards. The whole painting crew were really nice. I'm really glad I chose them to paint the house.

I left a voicemail requesting an estimate. Four days later, no response.

Nate and his crew were a pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a professional job. Nate’s estimate was a reasonable price, and he was big help with color selection. (I called with a concern about the colors we had chosen, and within 1 hour he was painting a couple color combinations for us to consider.) So needless to say, thanks to Nate’s eye for color and style, we were at peace with our choice of color before the work began! His crew was very polite, and respectful of us and our home. They were on time, fast and very efficient, in spite of the weather related challenges! Our home presented several challenges, from landscaping to electric wires, and multi-levels, as well as being stucco. Robin and his crew of painters handled each of the challenges like pro’s! What might have been stressful turned into a pleasant, and peaceful adventure! As a painter myself, I had high expectations for attention to detail. I expect cut lines to be precise, with no holidays (drips), or laps showing, smooth corners, peeling paint removed, paint on the walls, not the ground...etc. The crew exceeded my expectations, giving our precious home the look a professional paint job! I must admit, the reviews I read seemed too good to be true…but I am now a believer! Yes, I would highly recommend Creative Finishes for all painting needs! They can turn “this old house” into a “new home” in a short time!

The team was very courteous and did a fantastic job. They worked very hard, even 12+ hours in over 90 degree heat one day! Our house was very difficult to paint. It is about 3000 square feet, over 100 years old and 3 stories. They were on ladders over 40 feet in the air at times. They were very detailed, even removing the downspouts to paint them separate. They also repaired some falling away mortar at the base of one of the corners of the house. Very well done! Would definitely hire again!

When we shopped for an exterior painter, it was evident that Creative Finishes was the top choice. Nate walked us through the process and answered all of our questions so we were sure that we were getting what we wanted. We also needed some of our cedar siding and trim boards replaced, and they provided both cedar and fypon options, depending on the board location. The estimate for painting came in at $4,700, which was competitive with other estimates. All told, the carpentry work was about $1,800 and should take care of those needs for years. The estimate was given in April and we had hoped to get the work done around Memorial Day. Due to cold/wet weather, that date was pushed back by about a month. Once the crew arrived, the job was completed in about 3 days with little disruption. They did extensive cleaning and caulking of the cedar as part of the prep work. The paint job was excellent, with sharp corners cut into the two-tone transitions between siding and trim. Touch up spots were taken care of quickly and the area around the house was cleaned up very well following the work. Overall, I recommend Creative Finishes and they will be first on our list for future painting work.

We live here and they moved furniture as need and kept work in an organized order so we could continue using our home. All went well and it no question was a lot of work, The fun part is after our great room and a large upstairs hallway had its first coat of paint we decided we did not like the color that we picked out after all. Nate Brown the owner stopped the job, and immediate worked with us on new color choices and within hours we had a new decision and they started gain. Nate and his crew were very helpful. What is also nice all the Creative Finishes Painting people worked very well together and were hard workers. Beautiful job and cleaned the site well. Note due to our change they lost a days work effort as a full day of painting had to be redone. We did pay a little more than quote but it was very fair and the right number to charge. Very honest company!

Excellent job. I have a difficult to paint 3 story victorian village home with minimal space between the houses and many different colors. They did a fantastic job, did it quickly with a large crew. Was very impressed. Will use them again.

Creative Finishes performed an excellent job, and was extremely price competitive. All of the work was done very professionally. They came ahead of starting work to paint a sample of our siding color on our house, and when we decided to change color the next day they accomodated the change with no questions or complaints. In addition to the trim pieces that I had identified for repair, they found some additional pieces as they inspected the house, which they also repaired. The final price was less than the estimate, since less wood was used for the trim repair than was estimated. I highly recommend Creative Finishes for residential exterior painting.

I was very glad to have found Creative FInishes, but that feeling unfortunately changed to disappointment. Nate was great to work with through the quoting process, the team worked with us on scheduling, as the date was refined they planned ahead and came when they said, and probably most importantly was that they did great work. This was all at a fair, competitive price, so we felt we had a great value. Everything was looking great as the exterior trim was being done and then took an unexpected turn. One element of the exterior was our front door, which gets brutal sun and hadn't been painted in a couple of years. At quoting, Nate recommended paint instead of the existing stain for best durability. Between quoting and painting time, we decided we wanted to stick with a stain. We had a miscommunication (the quote still said paint) and when the exterior was done, the front door was painted. Even if we had decided on paint, it just didn't look right and we would have asked to change it. We told the crew and they immediately jumped on getting it changed over to a darker finish (the rest of the trim is a medium taupe). The lighter paint under the darker finish ended up adding an element of dimension which looks great. The second portion of the job was interior work. We've been in a 3-year largely DIY live-in renovation and ready to move past some open jobs. The quote from Creative covered both the exterior trim as well as the several rooms we needed finished interior. When the exterior was finished and I asked about scheduling for the interior, Nate said they would "decline" the interior portion of the work. We traded notes about why and it came down to their busy schedule and us being difficult to work with due to the front door. Nate and I traded messages as I wanted to work out the miscommunication and relationship issues - we didn't mean to be difficult. Nate never returned my last voice or email message (it's been a couple of weeks now) so I have given up and am writing this review. The original quote included a combination discount that Nate proactively and promptly told us they'd refund (so that we got the effective discount on the exterior), less $200 for the front door rework. So, we paid for the change at the front door. Our live-in renovation will continue for a couple more years and having a reliable, quality painter was something I was really excited to have settled. I hope this review comes across objectively as we are very pleased with the work that was done, but extremely disappointed with how the rest of the relationship evolved. If something changes after this review, I will gladly modify it.

The job quote process was very professional. Thanks Nathan. They were not the low quote but they did do the shed free of charge. They were very punctual and communicated the night before their work plan. The painting crew under the leadership of Jason was absolutely outstanding....professionally dressed, curious, super communications, polite, outlined all the work to be done each day, quality equipment and supplies, cleaned up at the end of each work day and Jason remained on the job the final day until 8:30 p.m. to touch up and review the final project with me. It was his birthday that evening and he missed the dinner...."he said the customer comes first." Another professional move on Jason's behalf was when during their lunch break my wife and i made a tour of the job and Jason came running up to us with flies in his hand to talk with us.....................that was a class act. We highly recommend Creative Finishes Painting to everyone!!!

We were extremely pleased with Creative Finishes Painting from beginning to end. We contacted them from reading reviews on Angie's list. Nathan Brown came out and walked us through every step of the project. He answered our questions, made some great recommendations, and provided us with a folder that had an itemized cost sheet, a page of references, a copy of their liability insurance and Bureau of Workman's Comp info. Typically my husband and I get three bids on every project but we had so much confidence in Nathan's presentation and felt the price was so fair that we signed on. Within a few days the weather turned decent and the crew arrived and got to work. They were professional, friendly, hard working, and very competent! Our 15 year old house looks absolutely amazing! We have already sat on the porch and just enjoyed and admired the difference some paint made. We have had several neighbors walk over and compliment the new look. To illustrate how pleased we were and how confident we are that we will use them again, we have had two companies come out and give us bids this week on remodeling our bathroom and we have told both of them not to include the painting in the bid because we have our own guys--the crew from Creative Finishes Painting-- who will be doing all our painting in the future! I would highly recommend them for any job you need done. They did an excellent job for us and I am sure they would do one for you as well!

It went great. Nate came out to the house right away and we walked the job, discussing what needed to be done. He made very good suggestions and took very good notes. Unlike the other painters I spoke with for the job, Nate worked from his notes and quickly put together his firm quote on the spot. Everything was very clear and it was easy to see how he reached his cost. Later that day, I called Nate to say he had the job. Others had said the job would take two weeks, and that they might be able to start in two or three weeks. He said he could start the job on the following Monday (six days after his visit). A crew of six painters arrived at 8:30 on Monday morning. They were pleasant and respectful of the household, and left the rooms we needed (our bedroom, baths) clean and put together at night, even when they were still working in a room. The entire job was finished by 5:30 Thursday evening, just four days, exactly as predicted. The cost was actually under the original quote. When they left, the house was clean and well put together. Very highly recommended!

Nate is very responsive and great to work with. He will return calls/emails/texts very quickly. The job was finished quickly within 1 week. We were not living at the home at time. There were a few issues/touch ups that were noticed after the work was completed; Nate personally came back out to the house to remedy these issues. We are considering using them for future exterior work.

I am extremely happy with the service that Creative Finishes provided. The work they did is excellent, it looks good and they were able to finish the interior painting in a day and the exterior painting in a day. Nate was very quick to respond to my message and came out the next day for an estimate. He explained all my options very clearly, made recommendations, and had the best estimate out of all the companies I talked to. He also had the best communication - and this was especially helpful to me, as I work full time and go to grad school part time and don't want to have to spend a lot of time trying to get work done on my house. Nate made it very easy, he was quick to respond and once the contract was signed they got out here and got it done. It was a tremendous weight off my mind to not have to spend all summer trying to get things scheduled. The workers that came out were professional and made sure to take care of the little things, such as repairing damaged parts of the deck and taking down/putting up the pair of blinds I forgot to remove the day before. I love how my house looks now and am very thankful that Creative Finishes made this so easy to get done.

We have now used Creative Finishes multiple times and once again they did a great job. We were having other work done in the bathrooms and Nate was flexible in getting us scheduled for as soon as possible after the other work was complete. The crew arrived on time and worked very steadily throughout both days. There was virtually no interruption to whoever was home and they cleaned up the work areas very well at the end of both days. We are very pleased with the work that was completed!

One Word comes to mind. 'Amazing'. Let me first say that the work was done at my rental in Ohio, while I reside in Arizona and was not onsite. Nate was responsiveness to my special needs considering I was not onsite Etc. The initial call back was prompt, the estimate was straight-forward, price was super fair and work completed when he said it would be done. Nate was amazing and choreographed all the painting around other flooring and tile work performed by (Pennington Remodeling). He was able to repaint my aging cabinets, trim-work / doors Etc and saved my several thousand dollars for replacement cabinets and trim. He is easy to do business with and my only regret is that he's not in Arizona to help me with other projects I have. If you want stellar service, fair price and no headaches for ANY painting related jobs, do yourself a favor and call Creative Finishes. He also works closely with Pennington Remodeling and between the 2 companies (both of which I used for my renovation) there's little they can't do. Considering I'm trying to sell the house, everything had to be just right, and Nate made it happen.

The project was completed on time. The crew worked quickly and efficiently to get everything done. Although I gave them an "A" for professionalism, which was true overall. One of the crew members took some time to play with some of my sporting-goods equipment and had a tendency to waste time on the job. Again, overall the crew was great - and they should not judged poorly for their performance because of one employee. I will certainly go to this company again in the future.

Nate and Jason (and their crew) did a fantastic job and were always polite and courteous. I was pleased with the repair work they did on my porch ceiling and they also did an fantastic job painting the trim. They even patched some very unfortunate woodpecker holes in my trim. All at a very reasonable cost. My only disappointment is that 3 days after the work was done the woodpecker came back and made some new holes! Not a thing Nate or Jason could do about that though :) They kept me posted on weather delays and returned calls promptly. They arrived when they said they would and finished the work in one long day. They cleaned up thoroughly. A month or so after the work was completed I noticed that a couple of the downspouts were not quite set in the ground as they were before. I called Nate and he sent someone out immediately to make sure they were secured. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Creative Finishes again for more work. Thanks so much for doing a great job!

Nate, Jason, and crew were very professional, punctual, and provided high quality painting. They were very patient during color selection phase and provided input where able to to help us finalize color selections. Painting the exterior of your home is a big project and hopefully a long term commitment. The final product is great and we are very pleased. We would recommend Creative Finishes Painting to anyone looking to paint the exterior of their home,
