Very fair quote -- and I had several estimates to compare them to competitiors.

Absolutely wonderful job. I had looked at a few different providers, but after seeing the Dateline NBC show on their website, I was convinced that these guys were clearly the best and respected for it. They were definitely slightly more expensive than their competitors, but well worth the piece of mind that the job would be done correctly. While they showed up a little late, they did call and let me know. Both of the gentlemen that showed up to do the job were very nice and professional. They walked through the home with me and were very clear and upfront about the expected cost. They even said there was a good chance the price might go down once they start doing the job if a few of the vents ran together. About halfway through the job, they reminded me about the Angie's List 10% off coupon - these guys were clearly not out to scam me for the most amount of money they could get. After the job was done, they walked me through everything they did, showed me what was in my vents, and told me about the dead small rodent that was likely causing a smell on the second story of my home. I would absolutely recommend these guys - they are great at what they do, and very professional.

The work went pretty smoothly until the final extraction of the dirt from the return duct. I discovered the next day that a vent in the work room was not covered. The result was a fine layer of grit and dirt found on the floor and the work bench. It took a15 minutes to clean up. I have no way of evaluating the amount of dirt in the machine's HEPA filters, but it look substantial. Vacuuming the rug since the cleaning has shown that about a third of the usual accumulation of dust is being collected in the vacuum cleaner. The amount of dust settling on horizontal surfaces has also diminished greatly.

They were very professional from the very first contact we had with them. I had contacted them several months ago to get pricing information and an explanation of what would be done. Steve (the owner) provided a very thorough explanation of the process and what was involved. When I explained to Steve that we were going to have drywall work done this past winter, he recommended that we wait until it was completed before we had the vents cleaned. We followed his advice and scheduled the service after the other work was completed. When the workers arrived, they very patiently explained what would be done and went through each room to verify the number and location of each vent. During the whole process, they were very respectful of our home and didn't hesitate to answer all of our questions. The entire process went exactly as planned. We are very pleased with the results (I actually asked to see what was removed!) and we would definitely use them again. We highly recommend this company.

When I heard that my neighbor was having the air duct cleaned in his house the other day, it occured to me that I should do the same. Even though I got the name of a service provider from my neighbor, I still came to Angie's list to do my due diligence. That is how I found Hi Tech. Steve picked up the phone and spent about 15 minutes on the phone explaining how they do things, and how they charge for service. Steve was very friendly, patient, and didn't rush to get me off the phone. On the service day (Today), Jason and Harry showed up 10 minutes earlier, checked the house and gave me an estimate. They are very friendly and professional. Jason was actually on the DateLine NBC show that busted the air duct cleaning scams. I read the story posted on the company's website, which sure boosted my confidence in the company and its service. After they started the work, Jason came back to me and told me that he should lower my price from the original estimate due to how some of the vents are connected to each other, and thus the amount of work was less than originally expected. He didn't have to do that, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I am really impressed with how honest they are. I ended up paying $80 less than the original estimate. That alone should say it all.

They seemed the most knowledgeable. They were clean and thorough. They weren't the cheapest, but they did the most.

HI Tech did a great job. They showed up right on time, and their price came in slightly lower than the estimate. The 2 gentleman were very polite and professional. They gave an estimate first, and then went right to work. They took about 2.5 hours to complete, which is how long the owner said they would probably be here. I would definitely use HI Tech again.

.It cost exactly what they said it would cost. They did a good job. It was expensive. I think the air quality improved. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They explained everything and it took the exact amount of time they said it would take. They came on time.

I was happy with the work. The price that I paid was exactly what was advertised and quoted. I thought that the technicians were very knowledgeable and honorable. I also thought the man was running his company with integrity.

We had decided to get a new furnace and the furnace company recommended a cleaning by Hi Tech prior to installation. Hi Tech was very clear as to price and procedures on the phone- they charge a starting price plus a per-duct charge past a certain number. The total cost ended up as $500. The 2 workers were on-time, courteous, pleasant, and very professional. They worked non-stop for over 3 hours, hooking up their equipment to every duct and vent in the house as well as cleaning out the old furnace itself. After living in the house for 18 years and having cats, it's embarassing how much cat fur and litter they pulled out- not to mention the tennis balls??? Whne they were done, they replaced everything and cleaned up. The house smells better and the furnace is noticeably quieter (we haven't installed the new one yet). We will definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Everything was great except, I'm sad to report, one of the workers seems to have taken the $100 bill I left on the dining room table. Steve, the owner, called me back the same day I contacted Hi Tech (Friday). After hearing my chipmunk story he said he would do whatever he could to take care of me asap. He called me Sunday to confirm that he was able to work me in on Monday after all. Two workers arrived at 9:00 a.m. as promised. They were courteous and professional (with the exception noted below). They worked really hard, they showed me the dirt (and chipmunk) they had flushed out, they explained the proper way to care for my furnace. Steve had mentioned that Hi Tech was featured as the good guys on Dateline NBC, and when my roommate Katie heard about this, she wanted a photo of the two workers, and they even obliged her. They worked until shortly after 1:00 with only a short, well-needed break. And now I guess I should report the negative: all evidence suggests that one of them stole $100 from me. I had kept some miscellaneous stuff in a Kroger bag on my dining room table after clearing off room to play board games with my friends. I keep my cash on that table ($35 or so), but I put a $100 bill that I couldn't figure out how to break in the Kroger bag just out of sight. It was there the morning Hi Tech came, and gone that night when I checked again. I remember wondering that morning if I should move it. But I had had it on the table or in the Kroger bag for over a month with various friends over and nothing bad had happened, so I left it there. I did have three friends over that night, but these were the same friends that had left it alone for a month and had never bothered my cash before. I checked the pockets of the last five pair of pants I wore but couldn't find the $100 bill there, and I checked the table and the contents of the Kroger bag numerous times, but it's just gone. So, as nice as they seemed, the only thing I can conclude is that one of the workers saw the $35 on the table, looked inside the Kroger bag while they were working in that room, and took the $100 bill. I hope I'm wrong and it just turns up somewhere, in which case I'll report this in an updated report on Angie's List and apologize for the accusation, but it's the most likely conclusion. But like I said, other than this unfortunate incident, they did great work for a good price, and I would recommend the firm. Update 1/16/13: New information has come to light that makes me think Hi-Tech DID NOT TAKE THE $100 BILL. I had a roommate who was the only other person there. After I told her the $100 bill was missing, she told me the younger employee seemed nervous to her. I told her that he seemed friendly and at-ease to me. I have since discovered this roommate was doing a fair number of illegal and immoral things. While I can't prove it either way, it now seems more likely to me that this former roommate was the one who took the $100 bill and framed Hi-Tech for it. My sincere apologizes to Steve and the Hi-Tech crew. I would now recommend them wholeheartedly and without reservation.

It was great. Our initial call to them was awesome, as they explained exactly what they do and how they do it up front. We appreciated this as it is somewhat questionable whether or not some duct cleaners are scams. They explained their pricing scheme and so we already knew what to expect prior to them arriving. I had to reschedule once due to my availability changing, which was no problem for them. They arrived exactly when they said they would and the work took about 4.5 hours. The techs were extremely polite, they cleaned up after themselves and answered all my questions. One of the air vents cracked as it was going back in, through no fault of the tech, but he still let me know. Overall, this is a great company and I'm so happy I went with them.

I thought the crew of two men were thorough and did what the company promised to do for the cost I expected when I called to make the appointment. They are not the cheapest company providing the service, but I was impressed by the information I got over the phone on what would be done and why. They are referred to by several of the HVAC service firms here in town. I researched the need for duct cleaning on Consumer Reports and other web sites. Overall there are mixed reviews as to whether professionally cleaned ducts help the interior air.. That being said, some of my neighbors have had it done and liked the results. They cautioned me that doing the 2nd floor was not necessary as the dust in a home settles DOWN as does construction debris that a contrtactors crew member might find its way into an HVAC duct. Makes sense to me. I felt that I wanted to get as clean an interior atmosphere for my severly allergic spouse as is possible, so I opted for the full service, both furnace systems. If I were to have the cleaning done again in ten or 15 years or after a significant re-hab work inside the home, I would just do the lower floor furnace and air handeling system, shutting down and or closing off the 2nd floor system for the duration of the re-habbing if possible.

We recently remodeled the upper floor of our house and we have never had the air ducts cleaned since we've lived here. Hi Tech was recommended by my parents and after checking their Angie's List rating we decided to give them the business. I will say this, they were hands down the most professional and courteous service provider we've had in a long time. Scheduling was a breeze, they called 2 days prior to the appointment to confirm and the two staff members (Jason & Jason) who showed up at the house were polite, punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. From start to finish I'd say the job took a little over 3 hours and they were very detailed about their work (they cleaned each vent register by hand with a cloth). After they finished they walked me through what they had done and explained what they cleaned out (construction debris from the plaster and lathe, and of course dog hair). I realize they're a little more expensive than other service providers, but it was well worth it in the end. In my opinion I would rather pay more for quality service and a job that I know was well done. Also, they said the service should be performed every 3 years or so. I will definitely use this provider again.

Owner gave detailed info on what would be done when I first called. I was scheduled promptly. Charge was exactly as quoted. Workers were on time, were neat & friendly. Were respectful of my pets.

Though the company doesn't usually send men out to just do a dryer vent clean, they were kind enough to make an exception for us because we were former customers (see our report from 11/2010) and because a pair of durned starlings had stopped up the dryer vent and we had a definite fire hazard in the works. I'd tried to clear it myself, but the industrious feathered duo had managed to pack grass and other debris over 7 feet in the vent tube and it wouldn't budge. They were able to squeeze in through a 1" vent outlet louvre opening to do their dirty work and had effectively stopped us from doing laundry because nothing would dry! The guys came out a day later and did a great job, not just clearing the obstruction but making sure the whole vent tube all the way to the dryer was cleaned out as well.

Excellent in every respect. They called 30 minutes before arriving to notify me that they were on their way, and arrived at the correct time that had been scheduled. They were two very nice, courteous, young men who got to work immediately after going through the house with me to confirm the number of vents(Harry and Cain--not sure of spelling). Cain then confirmed the agreed upon price that was quoted over the phone, including an Angie's List discount since the price was over 500(with the discount it went down). They then set up and prepared all of their equipment, and began the cleaning. Both young men were very meticulous, and obviously quite experienced with this job. It was a Saturday afternoon, and I hovered around asking questions as they worked, and Cain was extremely informative and an all around super nice guy. So was Harry, though I was watching Cain more as he was doing more of the actual cleaning whilst Harry would disinfect the vents that Cain had just vacuumed. My questions did not stop them from their work. They were at my house for around 4 hours. When they had finished, they loaded their equipment back into their van(which, incidentally, was very clean as well). Then cleaned up any debris or mess that had been left behind. I asked Cain if he had ever found anything interesting in any of the vents from other homes, and he said that once he found an old baseball card, and also once found some old coins. He always shows the homeowner what he finds. Alas, no baseball cards or coins in my ducts, but he did find 2 tennis balls, a baseball, a rubber ball, an old postcard, and a pair of children's toy eyeglasses! He also showed me all of the debris, dust, and thick layers of what looked like dryer lint. There was a LOT of stuff in these vents. I have lived in this house for 5 years, but the home was built in 1937, and I have strong doubts that the ducts had ever been cleaned. It's quite a nice feeling to know that all of that grime is no longer pulsing through the veins and arteries of my home! There is also a Dateline NBC video of hidden cameras filming another, rip off duct cleaning company pulling a scam job, followed by Hi Tech Duct Cleaning coming in afterwards and cleaning what the first company missed(which was nearly everything). They don't mention Hi Tech's name, which is a shame, but there was Cain visible for about 20 seconds at the end of the segment doing his thing. Cearly I am extremely happy with this company, and will recommend them to everyone.

We had never cleaned our air ducts and it was likely that the previous owner(s) had not cleaned them either. I had heard horror stories about sketchy companies and wanted to learn more, so I called Hi-Tech Duct Cleaning, mostly because I saw a coupon in Angie's List and after a quick BBB check, they looked legit. I spoke with Steve, the proprietor who walked me through the entire process. I liked him from the start! He quoted me a no-haggle price and promised it wouldn't change, even after the crew inspected things. I was sold and set an appointment for the following week. The two man team arrived on time, were clean cut, friendly and professional. They got the job done in 3 hours, which met my expectation. They did everything as promised; moved some of my furniture, cleaned and sanitized the vents and returns and showed me the final clean product. Most importantly, they cleaned up after themselves and put things back where they found them. I couldn't ask for more. If you've never had your vents cleaned, Call these guys!

This company readily accomodated our desired schedule. Two service men arrived on schedule, worked hard and professionally, just as announced, and completed job in 3 1/2 hours. Used care in bringing equipment in and out, and working in various rooms. Techniques appeared to be the best and most effective that could be used.
