Perfect!! Flooded kitchen and finished basement with most of the basement ceiling in the floor. These days, whenever I find a company this professional and trustworthy I'm always amazed. Jason and his crew were here ASAP and immediately started work to remove all of the water and damaged areas. They came back daily to check on the drying out process and kept me informed of everything in detail. I wouldn't trust anyone else to handle the restoration piece of the work that is ahead. His knowledge of how to deal with the Insurance company and his honesty convinced me that he was the guy for the job. You just can't expect more from a service provider than I've gotten from him and his crew.

We called Jason at 9pm on a Sunday in a panic - Jason and his team personally came out to our home in the middle of the night and excavated the water until 2am. We had never needed to file a claim with our homeowner's insurance, so Jason and his team acted as the point people for the entire process. We additionally hired Jason's LLC Construction company to repair the damage in our basement. Jason is nothing short of the most professional and kind person we've ever dealt with from a service company. During their work with us, I was diagnosed with Cancer; Jason and his team left flowers and an encouraging note for my recovery. It's so infrequent that you find genuinely good people who are also excellent at their job. Truly the best experience we've had with a service company. I can't recommend highly enough.

Couldn't have gone better. Jason and his team explained every detail of the process and really brought some piece of mind to what can be a very stressful situation. They came and went exactly in line with the expectations that they set and were very professional. Jason also has a construction business alongside this business to handle the rebuilding of what needs to be torn out (if basement is finished). Wouldn't hesitate to call again but hope I don't have to!

We had a small water stain on the wall, and upon further investigation found that we had a lot of damage hidden behind drywall and cabinets.  I called the company and the owner, Jason, came out and checked out the visible damage, and gave us options with how to proceed.  We actually waited a week to get things going, but he was able to get his team in a few days before we called him - we were reviewing options and after meeting with a couple of other people we felt that they were not in the same ballpark as 1-800-water damage.
So the team came and setup plastic enclosures to keep the mold contained and started removing cabinets and we found that the damage was far worse than we expected.  Once the drywall was gone, we found ant and centipede infestations, etc... it was a nightmare that made us feel like we'd be out of pocket for months and tens of thousands of dollars - but Jason made us feel confident that they'd be able to tackle it, and provided our insurance detailed pictures and information so that we knew everything was going to be covered.
There was a main leak, and then a couple of other problems that attributed to wet wood, so while our kitchen was gutted we were able to handle a lot of those issues - all through either Jason's team or his sub contractors, who were all very on top of things.  They did a mold test, we came up negative, and then they started spraying some anti-microbial coating on things and the rebuild started.
Again, we investigated other options on the rebuild, but Jason's other company specializes in the rebuild process - so they were able to set up our kitchen rebuild in quick fashion, and they did a great job getting us up and running - building a custom cabinet in our kitchen to save the old cabinet face and match everything else up.  All told, with remediation, delays on our part for investigating other options, delays on our part for having other leaks that caused the affected area not to dry out as fast as we expected, waiting on cabinets to be shipped, and the rebuild - we went from nightmare to 100% back in action in 6 weeks.
I hope we don't need to use 1-800-water damage again - but if we, our family or our friends ever have an issue like this again, I'm glad to know I have a team like this in our pocket that can build us back up.

We awoke one morning to find that the creek behind our house overflowed due to a neighbor clogging up a sewer line for the creek. We had water in three rooms of our daylight basement. After looking on Angie's List, we called 1800WaterDamage and I think Jason was out to our house within the hour. He had his staff in addressing issue within a few hours after that. They immediately removed the wet carpet and padding, which prevented it from soaking the baseboard and damaging the drywall. They installed industrial strength dehumidifiers in all the affected rooms and did moisture readings to determine whether moisture had seeped beyond the carpeting. Once they had determined that the moisture readings were normal and everything had dried out, they removed all the equipment and cleaned up any remaining debris. Thanks to their quick action, they prevented us from experiencing as much damage as we had feared and also prevented us from having any mold problems. We were very thankful to Jason and his team for their prompt and thorough attention to this matter.

They took immediate care of everything in the basement; moved furniture out, cleaned up all water and set up fans and dehumidifiers.  Everything was cleaned out, stored neatly in a pod in my driveway and the damaged things were thrown away after pictures were taken for my insurance.  After things dried, they treated the walls and floor.  New carpet was put down by Novals, their construction group, and after my month was finished using the pod, they unloaded all the things and put them exactly where I wanted them.

This company is fantastic.  Jason and his group were great and took  care of everything that had to be done.  I was rather overwhelmed when it happened, but all my worries disappeared and I knew I was in good hands.

Really professional job!

Well, right at bed time, my son came running up the stairs to inform me that there was water everywhere in the basement.  When I got there, I saw standing water in the unfinished room where the sewer drain is located, plus water had infiltrated into the finished room and the carpet was sopping wet.   There was sewage waste from the drain as well from a sealed flange for a planned 1/2 bathroom that had exploded from the pressure. It was horrible, especially at that time of the night.  I knew that we shouldn't let the water and waste stand overnight due to the high risk of contamination and bacteria so I went on Angie's list to search for a water restoration company.  After reading reviews of a few companies, I decided to go with two.  The first one didn't answer so I called 1-800-waterdamage and got a live person right away. I forget her name but she was very nice which is so helpful when you're already upset about the mess.  She had someone come out that night, she informed us of the two gentlemen names so we knew who to expect at the door.  The guys were very nice when they arrived and immediately assessed the situation and got to work.  They cleaned the majority of the mess such as removing the remaining water and cleaning up all of the sewage. They disinfected the entire area. They also cut out and removed the affected carpeted area. They left a dehumidifer and fans for overnight.  It was clean enough for the plumber to do his repairs the next day.  After the plumber left the next morning, the crew came back and finished up removing the rest of the carpet so it was neatly trimmed. They also removed the baseboards, the door trims and cut out the affected portions of the drywall. Then they set up more fans.  It was super noisy with all of the machines running but it was to dry out the area and pull out the moisture in the air so that mold would not set in the affected areas.  The fans and dehumidifer were left in place the entire weekend. They came back Monday to check and removed all of the equipment.  The owner also called to check in on the service, if we had questions and if we were happy with the workers.  I was very happy that I was to reach someone so late in the evening, that someone could come right away, and that they were professional and answered our questions.  They helped us to feel better about the disaster. I would highly recommend the company for the quality of their service.  The cost was high, but I never used a restoration company before so I really can't speak to the pricing, but to be honest, it was worth every single penny to have pros take care of cleaning up standing water and sewage as well as removing all damaged materials, disinfecting the areas and leaving the basement looking better than it was.   This was important to me because I knew that there could be mold and contamination if it wasn't cleaned up the right way and there was no way that my husband and I could do the job.  So thank you!!! !

They showed up in a little more than an hour which was much faster than quoted. They did a complete analysis of the damage. They vaccumed up the water, cut out bad dry wall and set up fans and a dehumidifer. The two technicians were very helpful and went out of their way to help us clean up. They came back after several days to check that everything was drying properly. Their price was fair considering the quick response and much lower than phone quotes from other well known water damage companies. They offered to help us with an insurance claim. I would call them again immediately if I had water issues.

Update 8-11-14

1-800 water damage did not agree with the estimate from Nationwide.  In turn, they adjusted their estimate accordingly and got within $199.37 of what Nationwide paid.  Their reasoning for the additional amount was was that Nationwide paid for the extra items in other parts of the estimate.  I was working with the Nationwide adjuster who had taken a new job within the company, so working with them was slow, and rightfully so.  1-800 Water Damage wanted their $199.  I said I was in contact with Nationwide and would be in touch.

Fast forward to a month later after the Nationwide amount was paid, they charged the credit card the difference (199.37) without authorization from me while I was trying to work with nationwide to determine if in fact I had been paid for it.  Ironically, upon reviewing it with Nationwide, they were only able to come up with $47.79 that had been previously paid.  So sounds like I was scammed out of $151.

Its ultimately my fault for signing the paperwork originally that allowed it - but its pretty shady if you ask me.

I was kind in the original review since they made an effort to get on the same page - which is why I said - make sure everyone stays in contact.    Now after the past week(s) events, my only advice out there is to make sure you understand what you are getting into with not only your contractors, but the insurance company as well.

Final thoughts - they did an outstanding job cleaning the mess.  Their techs were on top of their game and really care about their work.  Jason the owner is first class when it comes to fixing the problem.  Unfortunately, they were not on the same page as Nationwide which puts the homeowner in the middle.  Nationwide says 1-800 water tried to do too much and 1-800 water says Nationwide wouldn't pay for things they should.  It has taken this long to get resolved for several reasons - first it took Nationwide and 1-800 Water over a month to agree to an amount.  Then I never received a bill from 1-800 Water until I discovered they hit the credit card for $2,000.  When I called about it, I then received it for the first time and also noticed it was $199 higher.  Not happy about the $2,000 charge without telling me or getting my authorization.    Then I had to wait on Nationwide to get the rest to me.  That took some time.  Needless to say, it took a while to get them paid.  But they were paid.

At the end of the day, its he said she said with the homeowner in the middle.  From my experience, Nationwide did a great job with then entire mess, not sure what happened with the water clean up, but it is what it is and I am satisfied with Nationwide.  1-800 water, not so much any more.

Original Review:
Went very well.  They did an outstanding job of drying the house and making sure there were no left over wet spots.  They were fast, prompt, professional and efficient.  They went out of their way to get the job done no matter what it took and were able to respond the same day when others said they couldn't.  Jason is on top of his game and knows what he is doing and makes sure the job is done properly.
The only advice I will give to anyone is make sure all parties (you, contractor and insurance company) stay in contact throughout the process to make sure everyone understands what the costs are and who is paying what.

"We take pride in being a company of integrity- so thanks for the candor in your feedback. We are disappointed that we haven't meet your expectations. Equally we are disappointed that your grading of our company went from a "A" to a "C" after the final processing of your credit card for the remaining balance due. We can empathize with situations such as yours and can understand how you might feel that way. What your posting didn't share was that we had discounted our services by >$1000 to accommodate what we feel was an inaccurate settlement of your claim by your insurance carrier. In addition we have documented > 12 voice messages or emails attempting resolution to the settlement of your account which was unpaid for almost 6 months. We'd love the opportunity to help you resolve the $150 portion of your invoice you feel was unfairly charged. It's just a simple returned phone call to us and a 5 minute call to your assigned insurance adjuster."

We had a leak from the master bath tub that soaked through the ceiling in the living room, onto the carpet, and into the sub-flooring.  The damage sat for over 48 hours before the leak was discovered.  Two of my children have severe allergies and asthma and we needed the issue handled as quickly as possible.
I called the office number and was put in contact with the owner, Jason, and he came out the same day to assess the issue (despite this being during the "big freeze" when water damage experts were extremely busy).   I explained my children's health issues and Jason was extremely responsive.  He explained to me the stages/levels of water damage and the effects on the home environment and health of my family.  After thoroughly examining the ceiling area, the carpeting, and sub-flooring with some high-tech equipment, Jason explained the plan of action to me very clearly.  After assuring me there was no mold issue in the ceiling, Jason pulled back the carpeting and pad to expose the sub-floor.  He sprayed an anti-mold agent onto the wood to ensure no future mold growth.  Then he placed fans in the basement and family room to thoroughly dry the sub-flooring.   He added an additional filter to the room to reduce any breathing issues my children may have experienced.
Every action or step taken came with an explanation, which I appreciated.   I never felt that Jason was doing anything unnecessary or not in my best interest.  He explained the process of filing an insurance claim and pointed out some questions I should ask the adjuster; some I would not have thought to ask or mention.  Never having filed an insurance claim, I appreciated Jason's experience.
When the claim's adjuster came to the house, Jason came to ensure the process went smoothly and that the adjuster understood the steps Jason took to reduce the claim cost.  That was far above and beyond what I would have expected when hiring a service to remedy water damage.
The entire process went smoothly as Jason strove to make the inconvenience of water damage in my home as easy an experience as possible.  I would HIGHLY recommend Jason and 1-800 Water Damage to anyone needing this type of service.

we called them early in the morning when we discovered the basement had a couple inches of standing water throughout the basement. this was after a record rainfall the previous evening and overnight. They responded quickly and were at our house within an hour of our call. After the water was removed and equipment was in place we had another vendor come to clear the sewer line. Unfortunately the sewer line had broken after 55 yrs and water would no longer freely flow.
After 4 days, 1-800-Water Damage returned and removed all equipment after they determined the closed spaces had dried.
We highly recommend them to anyone who has either standing water to remove or water damage to treat.

Due to circumstances beyond his control, the owner was delayed by 3 hours, but kept us informed.  Very professional.  Brought project manager with him so that the person who would be responsible for a "Crew" was on board from the start.  Spent a lot of time explaining everything, answering many questions.

Seemed hesitant to give ANY general "what to expect" in terms of

1) on a scale of 1-10, how "bad" is this situation?  (can't really answer that...depends)

2) plus or minus a thousand dollars...any idea of what we are looking at? (can't answer that, could get into a lot more after the start of the job.

3) can you complete this job by "x" date?  (it depends...)

These are not reasons that I would decided NOT to use him.  He may just be the only "honest" guy out there.  Not sure I am comfortable too many "non-answers".

Definitely seemed very trustworthy.

Will write more when/if we hire him for the actual job. Expect quote back in 3 days.

It's especially difficult inspecting / estimating a project when the source of moisture hasn't been determined & resolved and our customer isn't the property owner (which would enable us to discuss prior events or contributing factors that may of led to your fungal concerns). Above all, we hope our consultation helped you make an educated decision on how to move forward with your project."

I called the 1-800-Water Damage company on the morning of June 6th and spoke briefly with Jason Byrd.  Jason said he would be able to look at my problem and help determine a course of action, whether his company did it or I did it myself.  He said he could be out after 3:00 PM and before 5:00 PM.  Jason arrived at 4:00 PM as promised and he called before arriving to ensure we knew that he was on his way.  Once at our house Jason looked at the problem, made a few small, exploratory openings in the drywall to see what was going on behind it.  He also used a meter to measure the water content of the drywall, the wood molding, and some carpeted areas to determine the extent of the water penetration and the possible mold areas.  He told me that the mold area was rather small and that I would be able to resolve this problem.  Jason also gave me a number of helpful idea on how to best handle this problem and he gave me some supplies to help get the process started.  I really think that this company has the concept of customer service perfected for their market.  I would definitely call them in the future if I encounter any further water or mold problems in the future.  Thanks Jason!

Extremely professional in every detail.  When I placed the original call for service, they offered to come out within a couple hours - superb.  As a degreed engineer and highly experienced remodeler skilled in most construction tasks, I was very familiar with the technology and methodology the team used.  I can't imagine a more satisfying result.  They worked quickly with precision and explained everything along the way - so you needn't be an engineer to appreciate and understand what they're doing.

Jason did a fantastic job of managing the project ? I always knew what the status was, and there was no hidden cost. He took several pictures of the damaged area, and really took the time to explain all the necessary work and went through my options. He did a great job of calming down a nervous homeowner.

Keith did a wonderful job performing the work. He was a pleasure to talk to and work with, and took just as much care as Jason to explain the progress of the project. I was really taken by his attention to detail. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to have in my house for a few days!
