Description of Work: We've used Jordan's Home Maintenance. He put on a shelf in our living room and did some work on a door jam. He did some molding around the base boards as well.

Description of Work: As a result of the wind storm that hit Ohio late June of 2012, I had damage done to the roof of my rental property. I called Thad right away to have him put up tarps over the large areas of the roof that were damaged and replace some of the individual shingles that were blown off. The flat roof to a back porch was also damaged and Thad covered that with a tarp as well.He also removed a damaged downspout and large tree limbs that were blown down in the back yard. He provided an estimate for me for the insurance company to repair and also to replace the roof. Approximately 3 weeks later the insurance company made a settlement on repairs that needed to be done. The adjustment called for only replacing the damaged section of the roof and the damaged down spout although Thad had advised that the entire roof be replaced because the winds blew up all the shingles and they no longer were staying down. Since the insurance company was only paying to have the damaged areas with missing shingles replaced and to replace the flat roof on the back porch, that's what Thad proceeded to take care of. Unfortunately, about a week after Thad had made the repairs -- patched in the new shingles and replaced the rolled asphalt covering on the back porch with a rubberized product, the insurance company did an about face and reconsidered and decided to cover the cost of replacing the whole roof -- minus the initial payment. I complained and said that the work had been done which used up almost the whole first payment and they in turn refunded the deductible to make up some of the cost for the previous work that would have to be undone to finally replace the whole roof. Thad made great recommendations about products and worked to keep the cost down and kept the roof replacement within the amount provided by the insurance company. It took his crew 1 day to completely replace the roof. It looks great!

Description of Work: Mr. Jordan installed a closet rod and shelf, a shelf in a second closet, reviewed the operation of a bathroom exhaust fan, installed a dimmer switch in a bathroom, and checked the condition of our roof.

Description of Work: My mother last used Jordan's Home Maintenance to have a new roof installed. In the past, I have used him to remodel my kitchen and then a lot of smaller tasks, like painting.

Over the last two years, his company has repaired and replaced gutters, done interior drywall repairs, siding repairs, window replacements, and fixed mechanical problems in our buildings. His largest project was to repair damage in several units resulting from ice dams.

Description of Work: Jordan's Home Maintenance did some remodeling of the kitchen in our 100+ year old farmhouse. As the kitchen was added onto approximately 50-55 years ago, it had been updated at that time, but a suspended ceiling had been installed. As part of a project to replace the sink and kitchen counter, we also wanted to do some changes and Thad Jordan came out to advise us on what could be done. We worked with Thad to develop a plan to replace the suspended ceiling with a regular drywalled ceiling; to remove a very noticeable bow out of one of the kitchen walls, replace and reconfigure the lighting (including can lights over the work counter, replacing the old flourescent fixture with a pendant/dome fixture, and replacing the outdated fixture over the kitchen table); make the outlets 3-prong and replace/reconfigure/upgrade the light switches in the room; replace the outdated tile backsplash behind a new Corian countertop being installed with beadboard; to install a beadboard wainscotting around the main walls of the room; and to finally replace the molding around the doorways and along the baseboard with molding that matched the molding in the original part of the 100+ year old house.
