They were able to come out the next day so I was happy about that. He discovered it was a broken wire and was able to use another wire to keep things working. Everything worked out fine and he gave me a break on the price. They installed the entire system about 2 years ago and they have been very responsive in taking care of it.

They never showed up for the appointment and did not call to cancel. Someone waited for Joe for 4 hours on June 11, the date of the appointment. Then on the 19th I spoke to Larry and learned that he had been sent out to give an estimate for a new AC. I need mine fixed. I never asked for a new one.

As a company we take great pride in being punctual, we value our customers time and in the event we would run late to an appointment we would certainly call ahead and make the client aware. This was not the situation in this instance. The appointment was set for 6/10/2013 at 5:30pm. We called while in route, there was no answer so we left a message. We arrived early for the appointment, either nobody was home or they didn’t answer the door. Our sales Rep “Joe” waited 45 minutes and even called while still at the home. You then called later saying nobody showed up and rescheduled for the 14th at 10:00am and then cancelled that appointment and rescheduled for the 19that 2:00pm. Further complicating things by saying the estimate was for repair, once again this is not correct, you clearly stated you wanted an estimate to replace your system, we would be more than happy to send a service tech out to diagnose your system although there would be a service fee involved. Sorry for any confusion but clearly your tenant isn’t clearly relaying the information back to you… Dealing with owners and tenants can be difficult I understand information can get lost in translation. We sincerely hope you were able to get your situation with the air conditioner taken care of. Best wishes. Doug Washburn

Don't believe everything Extreme One-Hour advertises. We were members of their "Comfort Club" when we decided we needed a new air conditioner. We asked them for a proposal which they advertise on Angie's List as free. Well it wasn't. Even when we had one additional visit as members of the Club, they charged us $70 for the quote. Then said the cost of the quote would be deducted from the price if we purchased from them. This is not a free quote. It is not a good practice to put revenue ahead of customer service. We had a much better experience with Wm. Brockman & Sons who installed our new A/C system.

We are very sorry you feel this way, when you called in you said your air wasn’t working, so instead of sending a sales representative over we set you up with a service call to try to repair your system first. You were told over the phone this would be $69.00 ($89.00 reduce to $69.00 since you are a club member). When the technician arrived and diagnosed the problem, (the repair was going to be costly) you then decided you wanted an estimate which he in fact did give you while he was there. He also stated it wouldn’t be a problem to credit your $69.00 toward the purchase of a new system (this is a pretty common practice). Our policy is estimates for replacement are free; we never charge for an estimate, we do however charge for our technician’s time on service repairs. I can assure you that you were not charged for the estimate. We strive for 100% percent customer satisfaction but we know there are instances when we fall short. We are an older couple and have dealt with many companies through the years. Extreme Heating and Air Conditioning would be in the top five of our favorite companies we have worked with on various projects. We had a very knowledgeable salesman named Joe who was wonderful. My husband worked in refrigeration and knew a lot about heating and air. He knew that Joe was giving us a quality product at a reasonable price. This was the fourth company we had seen for a bid. It was very easy to see that this company and price was the most reasonable and honest of the four previous companies we had seen. The workmen were on time and extremely nice and professional. They bent over backward to get the job done on time, even skipping their own lunch. After the work was done , Joe came back to check everything out. There was one very minor thing that had to be fixed. Joe immediately fixed it himself. My husband and I were extremely satisfied with the whole experience. I would absolutely recommend this company to my friends and family.

cliff notes version for people cruising reviews: fast, friendly, great service, would give them my money again ( and probably will when the furnace dies ) details: initial consult was great. Joe answered all of our questions. we picked what we wanted for our new AC system and set a date of the 24th. there was a minor scheduling mishap because it appears as though our install was put in their system for the 25th but we were told it would be the 24th. I called late on the 24th and that's when the mishap became known. Lacey (i think was her name) apologized and told us to expect someone between 9 and 9:30 the next day. Dave and Bill ( i think ) showed up extra early the following day ( at around 8, way before the 9 AM estimate )with an edible arrangement thing and an apology which was greatly appreciated. install took around 4 hours and they explained what they were doing and answered any questions i had. great service, nice people, fast install, just all around very pleasant and no headache. I would definitely do business with them again. I can't really comment on price since i didn't get competing bids but i'll pay extra to get "all the perks" ( ie; service, niceness, punctuality and so on ) that these guys provide. also, if anyone at One Hour reads this, give the guys who did my job a raise because they kicked *** and took names.

I was very pleased with the service. My appt time was actually moved up which was good as I had no heat. The service technician was very professional. I would definetly use them again.

Joe arrived on time and was very professional in presentation. We had met and engaged him for a furnace cleaning at the Spring Fling Home Show. Then I checked out the company on Angie's list. They were top rated. He cleaned the furnace and told my husband repairs that were needed and how original furnace had not been installed correctly. I had a repairman for another problem comment on the installation. The house is 12 years old. When he returned he was here for approximately 3 hours which is what he had told us it would take. He showed me the parts that were replaced and there was no question that the work was needed. We signed a service contract that day and this gave us a discount on that day which almost covered the cost of the contract. He was very neat and clean (wore shoe protectors). There was no mess when he left.

Contract Extreme through my local Lowes Store, my old system was at least 28 years old and I had been told to replace the entire sytem several times over the last 5 years.Havong utility experience, I knew the size and type of sytem that I wanted, Extreme came in and actually provided us with a poratble AC system becasue our existing unit would not take a charge or stay running during an extreemly long and hot summer spell. The saleperson cam eout and sized the unit and the SEER that I wanted and we financed through Lowes. The crew came in and although it was suposed to be a 2-man crew, they sent 4 people to insure a 1 day instalation. Crew were pleasant and went right to work, and even though I had dug the trench to gett the lines from the house to the pad, they dug it deeper to make sure that my pipes could get properly insulated. The crew worked fast and effeciently and completed the job in about 6 hours; the plumbing and cleanup work was done correctly and no return service calls. The sales person came out the next weekend and went back over the system to make sure that it was operating properly. Our utility bills have gone down and the house satys coller in the summer and now warmer in the winter than it ever has been. Thanks Extreme One- Hour; you did what you said you would do and you did it right th first time.

On the coldest night of the year my furnace died. It would blow cold air but the pilot light would not ignite. I called One Hour and told them a time that was convenient for me that day. They gave me a two hour window, but their tech arrived promptly at the beginning of it. He was very polite, put on shoe covers, etc. He quickly identified the problem, broke down the costs, and ran to Dayton to pick up the part he needed. He also pointed out that the previous company that serviced the furnace had disconnected the sensor that would detect if the furnace was overheating. This could have caused CO2 to leak into my house, which can be deadly. Despite his professionalism, and the great reviews that led me to call One Hour in the first place, I was apprehensive about the cost of my repair. After he finished, I set my thermostat to 70 and waited to get warm. Then, at 65 degrees, my furnace shut off. All night and the next day, the furnace would get to 65 and shut off. Of course at this point I was really worried that I made a bad decision. I worried for no reason. I called One Hour on Sunday morning (Super Bowl Sunday no less). I explained the situation. Half an hour later they were at my door. The tech (different from the first tech) determined that there was a soot build up that was causing the sensor to think that the furnace was overheating and shut down prematurely. Opening up the ducts and cleaning this out would have cost me more money had they done it on the first trip, but since they missed it, I was not charged another dime. I did not tell the tech at the time, but that was a make or break moment. The most important quality's that I look for in a service provider are honesty and integrity. I was ready to dig in and argue that I should not have to pay more money. I hate when I have to do that. One Hour did not make me argue. They knew that it was not right to charge me, so they didn't. That goes a loooooooooong way in my book. Next time I have an issue with my heat or air, they will get the call!

Initially I called to have a repairman come out to replace leaking freon. After a few days the air conditioner stopped working so I had to place another service call. The repairman,Rick, was very prompt and called me prior to coming. After looking at my unit he told me that it would be throwing good money after bad to keep putting in freon because the leak was in a spot that would be labor-intensive to replace and the control board was corroded. He recommended putting in a new unit. The estimator / salesperson that came to my house was very knowledgeable and was courteous when I asked him how his Trane unit compared to others. I told him my concerns with my old unti (uneven heating) and reliability and he recommended the Trane unit which fit into my budget. It was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but it is reliable and of good quality. I am very happy with my new unit and would highly recommend Extreme 1 Hour to my friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Complete replacement of heat / air conditioning system. (heat pump) including new sheet metal, refrigerant lines, removal and disposal of old unit.

I had several Contractors to come out to evaluate my home Furnace and AC needs (Trane, Carrier, Bryant, etc.). All were very responsive. Out of all of the quotes, the Trane quote from Extreme One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning (which I recieved and was coordinated via Lowes of Huber Heights) was by far the best value. They were extremely knowledgable, explained several options that were out there, thier recommendations, and were very flexible with my schedule. They even discouraged me from a more expensive system they provided that I wanted, explained why it wasn't worth it for me as the benefits didn't outweigh the costs, and listed out possible problems it could cause me. They showed up for the installion on time and called ahead to remind me. They did an outstanding job with the installation, explained the process before theystarted, updateded us throughout the day, and left the area cleaner then they found it when they were done. Update as of 1 June 2013: I stand by my original comments for my initial installation experience with this company, but I have to say it am currently not too thrilled with their service to date. The new furnace worked great throughout the winter, but when we went to flip on the new AC for the 1st time, it didn't work and just blew air. I called towards the mid-late afternoon and they really didn't want to come out and fix it since it was late in the day and asked if they can do it later. I agreed to a later time and they came out a day or so later, I think because the next day was Sunday. It turned out to be a coolant leak on a new line that they installed. They fixed it and the AC worked great for about 2 months. I e-mailed them in the middle of the night and called them 1st thing when they opened because the unit was just blowing air again. The thermostat read 78 degrees on the main floor and it had to be 80+ and humid on the second floor. They couldn't confirm a time and just had me on standby. They came out around 3 PM and replaced a burnt out contactor, a bad relay, and something else. It worked for only a few hours and I place another call this morning and am still waiting on them to come out. I hate to complain because they are always friendly and courteous, but this is the 3rd repair call on a brand new unit that they installed only about 7 months ago and only been in use 2 months. My wife and 2 young kids have to suffer through this and I am military with very little free time. I have a long list of things to do today and instead I am still waiting here in a humid uncomfortable house for repairman for the 3rd time on a new unit. They need to fix it this time or replace the unit. Update as of 3 June 2013: The company came out again and the same parts burnt out and they said I have a bad compressor. They don't keep the parts in stock and had to wait until Monday to deal with TRANE directly to find out when they could get the part and were shooting for a repair of Tuesday or Wednesday. Today I recieved a call from the company and the part will not be in until Thursday and the earliest they could install would be the following Monday, 10 June 13. They won't address swapping out the unit with me, only repairing it. They don't seam to care that I have my wife and my 2 kids (1 & 3 years old) stuck at the house for a week and a half without AC. I am really disappointed in the quality of the AC unit I recieved, a new unit really only used 2 months and am not pleased with the lengthy time of repairs. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this week will be cool and pleasant, like it was yesterday, verses the prior days that were hot and humid with us sleeping downstairs with the kids crying that they are hot.

Very pleased! I purposely waited 3 months after our new Trane HVAC system was installed to write a review after a season of experience. After a very hot summer, the new Trane HVAC system installed by Extreme One Hour last May has exceeded our expectations! Back in April during the HVAC off season, I obtained quotes from the five top rated companies. Our old Carrier furnace/air unit was 20 years old, still working ok, but I wanted to get educated on the newer high efficiency and two stage systems so I would be prepared in case the old system suddenly failed down the road. I learned a lot by reading and talking with the five contractors. In my opinion, Trane was the best all things considered, followed closely by Carrier, Bryant, and then Lennox. After some thought, I decided to buy a complete new system from Extreme One Hour. Living with the Trane air cond system for 3 months now, we are very satisfied. The new system is quieter, cooler and more efficient, our large home is very comfortable. Their price was very competitive. Extreme’s Sales Manager was very knowledgeable and customer-oriented, the installation crew did a nice job working with a difficult layout and tight space. Bottom line, Extreme One Hour was excellent in all aspects. Highly recommended.

Technician arrived exactly when he said he would. His name was Jeff. Very professional and courteous. However he didn't seem to be sure of the problem and what could be done to fix it. Got the impression that he wanted to just start replacing components until the right component fixed it.

Sorry Jeff our service technician didn’t immediately solve your problem, sometimes with intermittent problems it can be difficult to troubleshoot. Unfortunately sometimes trying to recreate the symptoms can be difficult. We appreciate the compliment on Jeff’s professionalism as we try to hold the highest standards in that regard, we also train heavily on the technical aspects of most makes and models but occasionally we run into some real difficult situations that even our most senior techs can be stumped on. Description of Work: Our a/c wasn't putting out cold air, thought it needed a freon charge. The technician, Bob, came out & immediately found there was a broken wire, replaced it & gave us a overall check up on all components. Very pleasant & informative.

A++++++ from beginning to end!!! It is always a very big decision when spending a large amount of money and we feel very good about our purchase. We also bought the extended warranty (included in the price quoted at the top) for our unit so that even labor is covered for the next ten years. I feel we are worry free with our purchase for a very long time.
Description of Work: We had a new 2 1/2 ton Trane central AC unit and coils installed in our home. The guys at Extreme's were exceptional from start to finish. I had done a lot of research on Angie's list before even getting estimates from multiple companies. Ed came out and gave us an estimate and he was one of the best priced but also very professional and well informed. He did a great job answering all my questions. We made the decision to go with Ed and he set everything up very quickly. The guys came out to install and were on time, extremely friendly, professional and clean. Except for a very cold house a person would never know they had even been here. They cleaned up after themselves and left when Ed came back to inspect their work. He was as pleased with them as we were. Ed sat down with us and gave us all our paperwork and answered any questions we had and then was on his way so that we could enjoy the rest of the day.

They did really high quality work but they are very expensive. They charge really high prices for some of their items. Although the work was good I would no use them again due to their high cost.
