A-Abel

I received 3 separate proposals from 3 different organizations and A-Abel had the most competitive price by a significant margin. The written proposal was detailed and thorough. The communication from the office staff was cordial and professional. Electrician arrived at agreed time and spent a good portion of time assessing what would need to be done and made recommendations for placement of lighting. This was a big job and the electrician was in my home from 9am-6:30pm. At one point in the afternoon, he recognized that the work was not progressing fast enough to complete in one day so he called for backup. I arrived home to see 3 separate A-Abel vans in my driveway and my internal alert antenna went way up. However, there was no reason for concern. The additional men helped to complete all of the work and the price was not changed. Overall very good experience.

The overpressure valve failed 10 minutes before I was to leave for the airport. A-Abel arrived that afternoon and replaced the valve so my wife would have hot water while I was out of town. They cleaned up the rest of the water in the pan and left the old valve for my inspection. Once again, A-Abel has provided a quick, effective repair in a potential disastrous situation. Their price was reasonable. They are not necessarily the cheapest cost BUT the quality of their work and promptness of their response put them at the top of the "value" list in my book.

It was very visible because it was at the joint in the pipe. I called Abel and they sent a plumber. The first thing he told me was to call an electrician. He took his time, and after walking around looking at it, he told me that he needed someone to come out with more knowledge and still charged me $222.00 to do nothing. Three months later, I received a bill in the mail asking for the payment of $222.00.

They have a reasonable price and they're knowledgeable. They did a nice job and they're punctual.

They are excellent. I would always recommend them.

They were okay. It was an average experience. The price was kind of high. They were supposed to come back and do some more but they did not come back.

We'd previously used another plumber (not on Angie's List), and hadn't gotten particularly prompt service. When we called on a weekend, they had a plumber out to our house in about an hour. It turns out the leak that we were able to see on the exterior of our house was actually deep in the walls, and if it'd gone on for very long we probably would've gotten significant water damage. I was really impressed with their promptness, and I plan in using them again and again.

They did a good job. They were punctual and everything seemed to go smoothly.

The price was higher because they had to drive 45 min to get there which is to be expected. He was right on time and very through in his inspection and even gave us good advice for a wet crawl space. Would definitely use them again.

Jim Cain, he is awesome! They come do service calls twice a year. They check to make sure there are no leaks and we have plenty of freon. They are a big help!

Responded day after call. Called ahead before arriving. Was very professional and courteous. Was thorough in completing work.

They said they could do the job and they said they couldn't do it but they started working on it and tried it if it was working and it wasn't. They didn't know why it wasn't working and I ended up explaining to them why. They threatened me with something. We will not use them again in the future.

50% of the time they came, they had to send someone back because the work was done, but the issue was not completely fixed. Not responsive to take care of costumers if there are issues with the work down the road. I will never work with them again and recommend that you look for a company that has your interest at heart, not a company as AABel that just tries to make money off of you, but will not try to work out issues with their work in the future. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company!

This company recently replaced my rather old heat pump. Being on a budget I decided to go with "their brand" as it gave me the ability to have a slightly better product put in for a lower price. Everyone was rather easy to work with and the installation techs were prompt and finished the job quickly. The only issue was at the end of the transaction when they misplaced my financing paperwork, but that was worked out in the end as well. Overall, I was pleased with the transaction and have no issues with the new system.

They were fairly priced. They did a good work and provide us a good unit with good price. We were pretty satisfied with them. There wasn’t anything negative about them.

This was a small project to install a new bathroom vanity. A-Abel showed up Monday to give an estimate, returned Tuesday to install the vanity I had already purchased. They took $100 off the total price because I took out the old vanity myself. I removed the old vanity Monday evening. To my surprise the main water and drain lines to the house came up out of the slab and then go into the wall beneath the vanity. I was unaware of this as they were hidden underneath a notched out portion of the old vanity that was not visible until it was removed. The A-Abel service man arrived Tuesday morning to this unexpected water line issue. He was professional and took it in stride. The install was completed in a day, at the initial quoted price and the results are great!

They were fantastic. I liked that they took care of everything and we did not have to hire any other service providers for the different types of work. They handled the job within one day.

They did an excellent job. He was professional. He was very neat and thorough about everything. I was a bit disappointed that I had to move the furniture for him to do under the furniture. They did inform me ahead of time that that would be the case.

Everything went very well. The experience was very educational and the representative (Gary) was very professional and thorough.

I called for the test and told them to do what they needed to get the gas and furnace on. The technician, Robert, showed up and tested the line and replaced the valve. It turned out there were also leaks in a line going to a gas stove. This I learned through the tenant, since the technician never called me. From the paper work I received with the bill it looked like the furnace was ready to go, and the tech also quoted me a price on running a new line to the stove ($2000). About two weeks later, my tenant had still not heard from a city inspector, so I called the city. Aabel had not pulled the permit yet. When I called Aabel, they cheerfully informed me that due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the permit pulling was all messed up. Another week goes by, I call Aabel again, and ask about my account and why the permit/inspection has not been processed. One lady said that the invoice was still open, another person blamed it on "the Vectren strike." Apparently what happened, in the end, was that since the tech had quoted me a price to fix the stove line, the invoice had not been processed. Ok, so they finally realize this, and of course I had to wait another week for the city inspector to be available. City inspector comes out, calls, says the furnace line is not finished. Aabel sends the tech, he says that he needs to cap the furnace line, and oh yeah there are other leaks it will cost another $465. I told him that I already paid a flat fee to have the pressure test done and the line fixed. Tech says, no that was just to do a pressure test and replace a missing valve, even though the first line of the service invoice under the heading "Description of Work" says: "Put together gas line to furnace." Further down the invoice under the heading "Our Service Professional Suggests the Following:" he wrote "No other work at this time." Under "Item or Part Description" he wrote "Gas test and repair." Long story short: Poor communication, poor follow up, and obscure pricing made this a real hair puller. It cost me $915 and took one month to simply have a gas line pressure test done, a cap and valve installed, two elbows doped, and the city inspection. I have been a loyal customer in the past, but for them to drop the ball like that and then charge me more money is just beyond the pail. I could have lost a tenant over it, and/or suffered frozen pipes.

We had three estimates and were most pleased with A-Abel. We decided to use them and are very happy with our choice. They were very prompt, thorough and knowledgeable.

The task went well...I watched the whole process...The clog was removed and the drains are running again.
