Watershed Organic Landscape and Lawn Care

This was the second time I've used Watershed, and I'm still impressed with their service. It took slightly longer than I would have liked to get on their schedule, but I think they had other jobs delayed due to weather. They completed the work in my yard within a day and billed me later for it. We asked for a stone wall to be built around a raised bed area, and Jim not only found bricks to match the others in our gardens, but he laid them on a bed of gravel and glued them together so they'll last longer. After ripping out all the grass we got tired of mowing and maintaining, he laid down pine mulch of various sizes so it's easier to walk on--something we hadn't thought about before he did it. The gardens look great, and he was really easy to work with!

Left a message for service and did not receive a return call to discuss.

Jim is knowledgeable about plants/trees (especially Ohio native plants, which was important to us) and a very hard worker. He's very busy, and it took longer than I'd hoped for the work to start, but once they did start the job, they focused only on our job until completion. Happy with the service and recommend him to others.

I called him the first time and he never called back. I called again and he finally called me back and said he needed to do some more investigation. He said he would call back and give me a price. He called me back and I was unable to talk to him at that exact moment, but asked if I could call him right back and he said yes. I called him back and still haven't heard back from him. I am very disappointed in the way that this has been handled because I feel like my small lawn is something he doesn't want to do.

I like them quite a bit. They only mow when it needs to be mowed. Their pricing is a little bit higher than others but they only mow when it needs it so it ends up saving me money.

Watershed has provided lawn mowing service for us, using an affordable and sensible schedule. Their pricing per mowing is slightly higher than some others, but they only mow when the lawn can take the cutting. So, when it is very dry, they give the yard a pass. This saves your yard and makes the service you receive affordable and the best overall value. I intend to keep them as our lawn service firm for the future.

They do whatever fertalizing we agree upon at the beginning of the season. They do weekly mowing, etc. until dry season slows growth. Then they check on the lawn regularly to see when it next needs mowing. They are responsive to requests or suggestions from me. I usually communicate with Jim Roberts, but sometimes with his crew. The crew is friendly and efficient and fast.

I called and they were able to fit us into their schedule. Their prices were competitive and their references were good. Our lawn mower had been dying and the teenager had only been able to cut half of the front yard during the crazy spring growing season, so the back yard was more of a meadow. They said it would take a couple cuts of the back and then it would be routine maintenance. They knew we were moving and took care of the yard for more than a year. I never had to worry about it. They checked weekly and only cut when necessary.

My favorite part about working with this company was that it impacted my life so minimally. I called Jim and told him what I was looking for ("please fix this"), and he came by on his own to look at the space--I didn't have to leave work to be there and discuss it with him again. Then he called back and offered a few options of what he could put there. I picked one out, and he called later with a complete quote. A little while later (roughly when we agreed, due to weather), his team came out and completed the work in a single day--I just came home from work and found everything looking great! He called again to check up on how it looked and to offer advice on how to care for my new plants, and a little while later I received an invoice in the mail for the price I expected. Definitely an easy and positive experience.

They did a really good job. They were very kind and explained what they were going to do. The support that they used, they put it in such a place that we don't see the metal stuff. Our trees are still beautiful and much healthier. The people were very knowledgeable.

We recently moved to Ohio from an area without poison ivy and weren't sure how to remove it from our yard without using chemicals (and without touching it ourselves!) Turns out the only way to get rid of it is with an herbicide, so we had it done by this company. Nice guy and he was able to come within a couple of days to spray. An area was missed and it took a while to hear back, but he did come again and spray the missed spot at no charge.

We are happy with them. The lawn always looks great. We think they charge $30 to mow and edge.

They have been very professional and done excellent work. The work has been done in a timely manner and with high quality. The only challenge is that they bill by the hour, so it can be hard to estimate cost ahead of time. However, their costs have been fair.

We used them for a couple years. They are really good. I like that they are flexible; they would only mow when needed or when we asked.

Requested estimate and information; did not hear from company. Went with a competitive organic treatment company and very pleased.

They are very smart about the way the use things. The don't use chemicals. The let the grass grow a little longer. I am very impressed about the work that they do.

His price for the spring clean up piece was very competitive and I just noticed that "mowing lawn" was included on the invoice. Missed that one the first time around. The mulch to be used seemed a little light. For some unexplainable reason, I decided to go with someone else for the spring clean up. The second estimate was for the organic lawn care service. I had been interested in this but the cost is much higher compared to traditional lawn care applications. Jim said the materials were much more expensive. We decided no to have him do the lawn care program. Jim was polite and professional. We would not hesitate to call him again. The price grade of "B" is taking into account the organic lawn care program more than his spring clean up price.

Project was on time and on budget. Wish Jim did design and architecture as well.

I like them because they are earth friendly, and professional.

He said he said he would come for an appointment and then three days later he called and cancelled. I guess my business wasn't big enough!

The owner was was professional when he came to give me an estimated and explanation of services. He provided written materials and an honest description of what results to expect. For example, he explained that the cornmeal mixture will not prevent the spread of clover and violets. You still have to dig up some dandelions. But, so far the grass definitely seems healthier and greener for not much cost and without chemicals. They come to provide the services kind of "whenever" within the right time period. A funny story told to me by my parents were babysitting for us: my mom exclaimed that she saw a person run by outside the window. My dad said "are you sure it wasn't a bird?" My mom replied "NO, it was not a bird!". It was the lawn service, whom they weren't expecting. I guess that the Watershed employees work fast. The cornmeal kind of smells on the yard for a short time. Other than that, I don't see any negatives.

Called for an estimate to do Organic lawn fertilzation for my yard. The company called back the next day and did come out and give me an estimate. They were able to provide me more information on what organic care entails and the pros and cons. I decided at this time that I am not going to switch to organic due to cost, smell and lack of weed control involved.

I called and the gentleman who answered asked if he could call me back in 20-30 minutes as he was on the road... fair enough. Called again the next day after not hearing from him, left a message. I then filled out a contact form on the website, also to no avail. I can't comment on his service, as we obviously didn't get any.
