Description of Work: Called Door Depot due to noisy overhead garage door opener. Workman replaced some rollers, lubricated hinges and said that lubrication of the motor and chain drive was not feasible. The ominous noise from the motor area was said to be due to the age of the device and not to a repairable problem. Only recourses were to replace the whole overhead opener, or to wait for the motor to break and then replace the opener. I called another service provider, however, who diagnosed the noise to suggest the motor mounts had slipped a touch, causing the motor to be out of alignment. Repositioning the motor so that it turned freely and the drive sprockets correctly engaged the chain, eliminated the offending noise completely, at once.

Response from Door Depot LLC
It is very disheartening to see a sub-par review from one of our customers as it is our goal to leave everyone happier than before we arrived to their home. In this case, our service technician did replace every roller on [name removed] garage door. We also lubed and adjusted his garage door to ensure proper function. Unfortunately, [name removed] has a garage door opener manufactured more than 40 years ago that does not have the proper photo eye safety sensors. We did inform him that due to safety and liability reasons we could not do any type of repair to this opener. In order to take proper safety precautions no garage door company like ourselves should work on a garage door opener that does not meet the current required safety guidelines, such as [name removed]. Customers may think they are getting a good deal but, safety should always be the number one concern. We would however like to leave [name removed] as a happy customer and offer him a discount on a new garage door opener installed with the proper safety features. It is and always will be our number one goal to please our customers with outstanding service at a fair and honest price.

Description of Work: He did a tune up on my garage door. It had been very loud, squeaky and creaky. Now it's so quiet I have to double check that it's working! He tightened and replaced nuts in several places and sprayed the "workings." I'm a happy camper. The only problem was that he was 20-25 minutes late and no one called to let me know.

Description of Work: Replaced everything but the motor. Went pretty good. The two guys that came out were very nice and professional. They didn't put a very good deal around the door and was a little sloppy with caulking around the trim. The reason for the A rating was because I called to complain and the owner came out personally and fix everything the way it should have been done originally. The owner stood by his work and made it right and I really respect that. Looks great now and overall, I'm satisfied!
