The original leak was fixed. Unfortunately Dave's company cause a NEW ADDITIONAL LEAK. This "New Leak" caused major drywall damage on ceiling of garage and destroyed garage "side exit" door...his so-called "roofers" came back Three additional times, NONE OF THEIR AMATURE ATTEMPTS TO FIX ROOF WORKED!! Water STILLS LEAKS resulting in all my tools getting wet and rusting(some of them, the ones that were wet before I discovered the NEW LEAK THEY CAUSED). Company refuses to acknowledge or fix damaged drywall...?? The only reason they touched my condo is a result of my condo board calling them, I wouldn't of chose them. They showed up unexpectedly on a winter day, it was about close to 5 to 10 degrees and very windy, I told them isn't it too cold to do "HOT TAR ROOFING", the crew said "yes, it's too cold but our supervised told us to do the job." I should of told them to come back on a warmer day but I didnt...

The new roof he placed leaked from day one. When his people reassessed, they claimed it did not leak- that there was only condensation. 2 years later, the roof is being being replaced at my expense by a competent and responsible contractor. I'm 61 years old, and this is the only negative review I've ever rendered.

They did such a fantastic job that I want them to come in and put in hardwood floors through the rest of the house. Too bad they don't do straight flooring jobs, only restorations.

A bathroom vent fan caused severe fire and smoke damage to the house. Dave worked with us and the insurance company and all subcontractors to perform the repair work in a timely and professional manner. We are very happy that we called Dave as he was very helpful to get through this difficult time.

Fortunately we were out-of-state when the explosion occurred on March 21, and we were able to stay out-of-state until the house was habitable. Family members handled things until we arrived home in mid-May. This involved working with insurance adjusters, city inspectors, and DW Ranney. By the time we returned home in mid-May, the beams in the attic had been replaced, the bathroom had been retiled and painted, the plumbing was working, and two bedrooms were painted. Mr. Ranney's crew was invariably polite, courteous, and respectful. They worked around us when we returned, and made things as comfortable as possible. Mr. Ranney coordinated the work and hired licensed electricians, HVAC people, a chimney expert, a garage door company, and a company to install new carpet. His crew painted, repaired and replaced ceilings and doors, and repaired cracks throughout the house. They even did some "extra" things, like make a new mantle for the fireplace, and install a new shower head. At the conclusion of their work they rehung our pictures, moved our furniture back into place, and cleaned up their work area. Our home passed it's final inspection by the city building inspector on June 8. He told us that our home was the first of the 26 damaged homes to be completed. The building inspector also informed us of a serious fire hazard in our basement (which was not related to the explosion.) Our insulation was installed incorrectly. We decided to hire DW Ranney to correct the problem, and it was done promptly. About a month after all the work was completed we had trouble using the dead bolt lock on our new back door. Mr. Ranney sent someone over to the house who showed us "the trick" to locking the deadbolt. In short, we are very happy with the work DW Ranney and Sons have done for us. We will call them again, if necessary. We highly recommend this company.

All went very well! We had a couple estimates and decided to go with Dave Ranney and have no regrets at all. The work was started as soon as we were given the go ahead from our insurance agent. There were seven different areas of drywall to repair. It took about 4 days and after everything was completed, it looked beautiful. There was a relatively minor issue with an area of our hardwood floor when a urethane remover caused a little smearing. I chose to work on this myself (Dave gave me the option) and he reduced my bill $200.00. It took me no more than 90 minutes. He left me with all the "tools" I needed and results were beautiful. We would hire them again in a minute and know the finished product would be excellent.

everything went well, and if there was a problem, it was handled promptly and professionally - dave ranney employs most of the technicians who worked at our home and all of them have worked for dave for a number of years. those who worked for other companies were close affiliates of dave ranney - they were also prompt, professional and made sure all their work was done correctly.

I needed help negotiating with my insurance company. They had received one estimate for flooring from me and were questioning the guy's measurements. (We were about $1,700 apart between our guy and the insurance adjuster) I said "who do you want me to call?" They referred me to Dave Ranney. I called on a Thursday and he called back that day. He was out here the next day (Friday) looking at the damage to our floor (a toilet tank cracked and flooded things). He called the guy that gave us the first estimate. He reviewed his measurements. He then talked to our insurance adjuster. By the following Wednesday, the insurance adjuster was calling me to say that he was going with the estimate that we had obtained and would be revising his estimate. There wasn't anything in this for Dave - he was just there to help us out and was very prompt in doing so. I felt the least I could do was write him a good review on Angie's List. Turns out he did do work for us back in 2002 (another insurance claim) - it didn't cost us anything but our deductible.That claim involved fixing a ceiling that had a hole in it from water damage, replacing the tile around the shower (we decided to put in marble), and stripping wallpaper and re-doing the wallpaper in the bathroom. Dave and his crew were professional, on time, and did excellent work. Thanks Dave!!

They did all of the work for our wood floors that had to be replaced due to a burst water line. The water had leaked under our laminate floors and it caused them to buckle. I called and he came out to go over everything with us. They ordered everything and two days later they came over and pulled up the floors and dried everything out. About ten days later the floors came in and were installed and everything was perfect. They even cleaned everything up when they were finished. They even worked with us and the insurance company to make sure everything was covered.

They did an awesome job!

He was very professional and prompt. He was very punctual and I had no problem with that.

They were very responsive. I was in and out of the house everyday, and they explained to me what they were doing. I was really happy and impressed with them. The insurance people told me that the work will be done in six months, but it turned out to take nine months. They had to wait for the weather to clear to replace the roof. I was very happy with them, and I recommend them to others.

They were completely professional. Did not expect payment up front (but this was an insurance project where the insurer was familiar with their firm) and were very reasonable regarding payment terms. They provided a complete detailed estimate of all work that was to be completed which was acceptable to the insurance company. We paid 50% once project was half way done and then the balance when all work 100% complete. We had no punchlist work that needed to be performed after they completed their work.

This was all covered by insurance. The reason for our payment is because we went with the higher priced tile. The supervisor stayed on top of the whole job.

They were quality workers with quality workmanship. All of the workers spoke English and they were very courteous.

WE ARE VERY SATISFIED. THEY WERE PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL, AND CAREFUL OF OUR PROPERTY.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB. ARRIVED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY DID ONE SIDE AT A TIME. CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES EACH DAY. DELIVERED ON WHAT THEY PROMISED.
