Description of Work: We had a broken torsion spring on our garage door and I contacted Potter after seeing their high ratings on Angie's List. The person I spoke with about the problem was very friendly and helpful, and she set me up for an appointment the following day (today). I had to call this morning to request a slightly later appointment, but the folks at Potter were very willing to work with me and shift some things around so we could still get our repair done today. The technician was right on time. He was friendly and efficient, and he finished the repair within an hour. It was a very positive experience and I would not hesitate to call Potter again.

Good morning. University Heights is a wonderful neighborhood with architecturally beautiful homes true to a bygone era. Many of the original free-standing garages also have the original wood garage doors. These older garage doors are usually equipped with extension spring assemblies such as your case. These type of spring assemblies were installed for years and years without proper safety apparatus as building codes and safety concerns were evolving through years of experience in all the sub-trades. I'm glad you chose our company to repair your garage door as we replaced both springs and installed safety cables which will prevent an extension spring from flinging uncontrollably when it breaks. June happens to be Garage Door Safety Month so on a monthly basis, please remember to visually inspect your garage doors for loose, broken or missing hardware and call a professional garage door company if needed. Garage door opener installations onto older west side Cleveland properties can be tricky as many of these structures lack adequate headroom, have no permanent power, have original wood garage doors with extension spring assemblies, have no access into the structure from the outside, & other concerns. We are glad we were able to get this opener installed without problems and to repair the garage door, & install the emergency key disconnect device for you.
